It’s your choice and I think the choice is pretty easy, your stubbornness is what’s stopping you and wanting to be right. Demons torture you in hell, they hate God and God made us in his image, therefore they hate us aswell, we are made in his image. So humans that chose a life without God go to a place where God is not present. This is simple logical bad and good. Go do some research on biblical hell and biblical heaven please. You know what is good and you know what is wrong deep in your heart, it didn’t come out of know where. Humans naturally know what is good and bad. Like I said God DIDNT necessarily create a hell, he just took himself away from a place and without God comes pure evil, just like without light in a room comes darkness. This is basic logic

It is a common misconception that Christ said don’t be angry, but that isn’t true. The actual verse actual states: Mathew 5:22 “But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.” But the Bible does say “Be angry but do not sin. Do not let the sun go down on your anger. Ephesians 4:26 God gets angry He understands that it is entirely impossible to not get angry what He does want us to do is to not let anger cause us to say or do bad things.
@Dethbecomethii4 жыл бұрын
@@honestfriend767 those are not exactly verses in agreement with each other. You leave out the part in Mathew 5:21 that gives the context. It is saying that murder is what you think gets judged but it is actually the anger you hold that gets judged. In 5:22 he says that you are getting judged for the anger as if you had murdered, because you hold murder in your heart. The verse you quote with Paul, is not an equal type of anger, and cannot be reference when looking at what Jesus said in mathew. Look at all the other verses in Mathew to understand he is saying to be angry is a type of sin, he is equating anger to murder. Just like he equates list to adultery right after this in Mathew 2:27-28.
@honestfriend7674 жыл бұрын
Dethbecomethii we are interpreting that verse completely differently “it is saying murder is what you think gets judged but it is actually the anger you hold that gets judged” I don’t think the verse is saying that It is saying that even if you don’t murder the person just getting angry at them equates to murder just like just being lustful even if you don’t commit adultery, lust equates to the adultery.
@geoffrust67874 жыл бұрын
@@honestfriend767 The sin is not in the anger, or even the lust, really. Sin is any deviance from the will of God. Jesus sums up the entirety of the law by saying first love God and second love your neighbour as yourself. Jesus is pointing out that acting in any manner to anyone that is not in perfect love is an inherently sinful action. Having lustful thoughts necessarily means that you are looking at another person, created in the image of God, as an object. Having anger in your heart and either feeling superior or not wanting what is Holy and best for them is inherently looking upon another person as lesser or unworthy. It is an impossible standard, we are fully incapable of living up to it. Many would say that the greatest love a person can have is the love between parent and child- as it is the closest to an unconditional love as we are capable of. Yet even that is insufficient because our complex psychologies will twist even that with some selfish motivations (let alone parents who willfully harm their children). Jesus raises the standard to this impossible difficulty so that no one can boast- so that we will all recognize that we need Him and that we are not "pretty good, close enough, better than that guy"
@honestfriend7674 жыл бұрын
Geoff Rust I don’t think it is impossible, I think it is hard to stay consistent with it, meaning there are times where you will fall and stumble. The difference with us and Christ is that He never stumbled, but we are going to and we are going to be forgiven once we do. It says in the Bible “No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, and He will not permit you to be tempted above what you can endure, but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13 - no lustful temptation, or the temptation to hurt or be angry is too much or too impossible. Lust is simply not looking at someone and thinking in your head something sexual about them, it isn’t hard to not do this.

But I did notice how he replied to her with respect for her question, and that's a very good thing. He could have easily said, as so many Christians say, "what? You're gay? You're going to hell!" Instead, he answers without judgment or blame. He's right with respect to Free Will. Do whatever you want. I say, do what gives you positive results not negative consequences.
@bunnyblueblevins9145 жыл бұрын
@demigodzilla First of all, water is not wet. It makes things wet. Second of all he displays a respectful Biblical approach towards her question, which is what she asked him to do. His point is this is what the Bible says, we all have our struggles, we all fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) and that just because something is natural doesn't mean that it's right. Being a pathological liar, for example, has also been deemed as having a strong genetic link, yet our society generally condemns such behavior.
@ToyotaVertexSoarer5 жыл бұрын
@demigodzilla Who's condemning her essential sexuality as sin? If someone were, why would you call it homophobic? Do you believe people have different definitions of what sin is? If you had stated it so explicitly, clarification would be unnecessary as to what you were originally referring to, but that isn't the case. I'm still unsure why you call his responses "cowardly". He deflected, but I don't see it being cowardly. Again with the homophobia and homophobic usage. No sarcasm needed, but I see your point about her being defensive when many Christians do not follow one of Jesus' most important teachings to be *accepting* of others, no matter what shape or form they are in. Messed right up or close to perfect, be accepting of others! I agree that at times he is taking a careful but not so good approach with some things. I am confused with him bringing up struggles. I agree with her about love. Any one human, straight or gay, can love another human just as much as anyone can love another. Redundant, but that's what I believe. Love isn't restricted by orientation. She can do what she wants because of free will. I personally think it's gross to see a man kiss another man, but if they love each other, whatever man. lol I'm happy for them. He didn't have to go into certain explanations and references. He could have worded some things in a different way to better help answer her questions. I can see how self-hood and identity relate, but how is her sexual orientation central to her biology? I have no idea what you are speaking of when referring to "vicious scum bags from Westboro Baptist Church". I never heard of that church before, so I wouldn't know anyone who attends there. But what does that random thing have to do with this specific video? Of course people with developmental disabilities have free will! They are human, and everyone born as a human has free will! And of course lesbians have free will too! Why wouldn't they? What do you mean exactly when you say "who don't even have to try in order to be straight"?

And if I have any woman at church that I have a crush on, I avoid them and stick to the female sisters in Christ I dont have crushes on. Despite how specific I got about my inner gay, my life in Christ is not based off of avoiding that. It's really about walking with Christ and having joy and choosing joy because I live in His love. When I hear the question “why did God make me this way” in regard to sexual orientation I ponder to think. God created man and woman, opposite genders attracted to each other. But God did not make just one gender, male or female, to be attracted to each other. What then happened...sin happened. Sin corrupted not only our natures, but, I believe, our emotions and intellects, and over time even our physical being. If my proposition is true, then it is sin that has corrupted the entirety of our being and that includes how we feel and respond to others at a sexual level. The ‘God made me’ argument is an attempt to blame God for our desires and choices. Adam blamed Eve, Eve blamed the Deceiver, and the Deceiver wanted to shift blame onto God. My friends, the universality of sin’s corruptive power is that it corrupts not only our nature but our emotions, and even our physical being. Sin corrupts even our attraction to one another. What feeling of love for each other was meant to be before sin has now become an excuse for same sex attraction, and hence God is blamed. But in Christ we can be restored, the sinner made whole, our attractions made what was originally meant to be, man to woman and woman to man.

@labae87284 жыл бұрын
Kevin Appleton it’s possible to be not in sin because, Jesus already paid the atonement of our sins. Yes, we will still sin naturally because that is our nature but the difference is is when we repent; confessing our sins and asking for forgiveness continually, we will be forgiven because Christ already died for us. That’s how great God’s mercy is, He has given us another chance to live and has given us the power to say no to sin.
@WienArtist4 жыл бұрын
@@kevindarkstar Please explain why you think we are all the products of incest. In my professional opinion, incest would not have been a sin until much, much later in human existence because it was not wrong in the beginning to marry your sister or cousin since the genes at that time would have been quite pure. It is much the same way when breeding animals. At the onset it is okay to breed brothers and sisters, but if that practice is continued, soon afterward the genes breakdown and what results are deleterious mutations. A few books of the Bible, particularly the early parts of the Torah, contain narratives of individuals who had engaged in sexual relations with near kin; while this could be misconstrued as incest, endogamy is the alternative interpretation. The Bible does not, for example, forbid cousins from marrying, but it does prohibit sexual relations with several other close relatives. And just as I mentioned, there are very good reasons for this. In ancient times, tribal nations preferred endogamous marriage - marriage to one's relatives; the ideal marriage was usually that to a cousin, and it was often forbidden for an eldest daughter to even marry outside the family. Marriage to a half-sister, for example, is considered incest by most nations today, but was common behaviour for Egyptian pharaohs; similarly, the Book of Genesis portrays Sarah as marrying Abraham, her half-brother, without criticising the close genetic relationship between them, and the Book of Samuel treats the marriage of a royal prince to his half-sister as unusual, rather than wicked. We also must be careful about assigning current definitions and practices to ancient times because the situations were quite different, and reasons for making later laws against such practices became more prudent and necessary. Lastly, there is quite a big difference between love and lust. When a man claims to love another man or a woman claims to love another woman, and then uses that false idea of love as an excuse to engage in homosexuality; it is not real love that is at the heart of the matter; but lust. If it were absolutely acceptable for homosexual relationships, God would not have created male and female in much of all living things.

Love is not just about sexual pleasure, is the combination and complementation of one's needs in the area that the other one is lacking, not in knowledge but in emotions that only each and every sex is born with, and the culmination of a life that only heterosexuality can biologically bring. Thanks to heterosexuality you and I exist, not otherwise. To be a transgender is pretending you are someone you are actually not, the only one harmed is yourself because instead of fixing objective reality you are trying to fix your subjective imagination that at the end of the day the problem is not been resolved. They want to be accepted for who they are and yet, they themselves did not accept who they were. Why not admit the reality and figure a way to be happy with it, instead of playing with imagination and not going anywhere? If you want to be accepted for who you wish you were born as; first you need to accept yourself for whom you actually born as. It is only thanks to heterosexual parents, which is the reason you're here. So then you can also say that it is of no thanks to homosexuals that you are born and exist today. You can't say both, because there is a true and a false and only one of those relationships is fruitful. If everyone acted on how they felt, it would be chaos. Maybe someone feels like sleeping with a married mn, or killing another person, or lying to others when asked if they have an STD. It's lawlessness. Or do you think it is okay to kill someone just because you're angry and you just feel like that's best for you? You are just as much mental as you are physical. Otherwise, there are no mental disorders. They would instead represent the real you. If you tell someone they are wrong, does that make you a hateful bigot? People always want to pursue what makes them happy, but happiness doesn't last forever. Lawlessness is similar. You can act on your feelings and that can make you happy, but your happiness expires. So then it does not fulfill you. Lust isn't always sexual and there is no either-or with lust and love, that's a false dichotomy, you can be married and still have lust, lust is a normal human emotion that is influenced by hormones like Estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone, testosterone being the strongest. this explains why sexual desires drastically increase in puberty especially in men/boys by the way lust is simply having sexual desires, whether you admit it or not you've had sexual desires before marriage. Lust and objectification are two separate things as well, one of thought, the other is an action and objectification isn't always sexual as well, for instance, some people only talk to their parents for money

Kyle Yes, Christians fail alot and no one is perfect only God is. But some of these things we ought to know as true Christians. As Jesus said, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 7:2) So yea..i think we Christians should ponder wether we atleast try to follow all of Gods will and not pick parts we like... And im not the arbiter of sex and dating, this is not my morality its from the Word of God. If you believe in God or not thats up to you, but what i was presenting is from the Word of God. If you want reference i can show you. I do care what people do with their lives because im loving enough to point out wrongs (in a loving manner) when i know they are going astray. And this is not what i think is wrong but what the Word of God says, the arbiter of morality. Let me be clear im talking about sexual lust here. We are all fallen creatures thats why we are so lustfull and we cant be saved without the perfect sacrifice of Jesus(im saying this irregardless if you are a believer or not). But, acting upon that lust is another sin altogether, thats more of your choice. Its true, hormone action is involved but we are rational humans and not unintelligent animals, not all emotions and feelings we ought to act upon. And sexual lust is one of them according to God's morality. Let people marry for sex, its their choice, but from my personal experience relationships based on sex rarely last, because in such relationships we objectify each other without knowing, mistaking it for love. And this to me just proves how God's morality is full of wisdom.

I personally struggled with sexuality. I used to identify as bisexual. As I came to know Christ and understand what Jesus was saying, my world view on everything, including sexuality, changed. I used to live by the idea that “It’s ok as long as it doesn’t hurt other people.” Boy was I wrong. When you go against what God has deemed good and right, you ARE hurting someone. You’re hurting God. We were never meant to decide what is good and what is evil. God does. The reason Adam and Eve were forced out of the garden was because they attempted to define good and evil for themselves. We ought to learn from their mistakes. In my case, God was extremely gracious as I was granted attraction to both sexes. So, when my time comes to choose a partner for life, I already know which one I will choose. I will choose the sex that my gracious God has chosen for me!

Or am I sinful ? Many saints like St. Joan of Arc went to confession daily. Pope John Paul ll went to confession every week. The question then is How long can I remain sinless? A week? A month ? An hour ? We Catholics believe in free will. We believe actual sin is an act of the will. We don’t believe we sin because we have a fallen nature. We do believe we sin when we choose to sin. We do believe sin has 3 parts and 2 effects. If I choose not to sin, then I’m sinless. I’m 58. Ive sinned countless times. I’ve also gone to confession over a 1000 times. Life is a struggle. @@Grokford I saw nowhere where he avoided those questions, they're not even difficult questions. 1) "Why is love wrong?" - It isn't wrong, what is wrong is a twisted version of love that is not God's idea of love, that being a romantic love between a man & a woman. 2) "How is it different?" - Homosexuality is different because it is not how God ordained us to be, it is a sinful behaviour. 3) "Who says what is natural law?" - God does, because He created the natural law.

@@Grandmaster_Dragonborn 1) Saying that Love isn’t wrong it’s just twisted is a semantic trick. It still resting on the premise that this Love(Queer Love) is for some reason particularly bad. Saying that something is bad because it’s twisted is just the same claim twice, it’s circular. I don’t recall off-hand if he even tried to explain his complementarian gender lens in the video, but even so neither God nor scripture ever claims that romantic Love is only heterosexual but r that it is meant that way. That is a claim, treating it as a given fact is just avoiding the question that such a claim implies. 2) Same as the first, presuming the divine intent of romance or sexuality is just making a claim without evidence. 3) God may make natural law but who’s to say what that is⸮ The answer is obvious, whoever is making the claims is saying it; defining terms to fit the argument. Once again this is just presuming the answer. It’s circular it’s logically inconsistent. The real problem at the base of all these problems is a lack of self awareness about one’s own role in the interpretative process. Our interpretations of God’s will are not the same thing as God’s will, and wel only have interpretations, which is to say, personal opinions. Arguing from a base of personal opinions isn’t reasonable and avoiding saying that’s what your doing is.. skeevy, even if it’s unintentional.
@Grandmaster_Dragonborn Жыл бұрын
@@Grokford Thank you for the polite rebuke, I appreciate it :) 1. It would be circular if I failed to define the types of love, but here they are: There is a clear distinction between between the two types of love we are discussing: The love homosexuals claim & the love of God, the differences are apparent, just like how a Toyota & Honda are two types of the same concept. - God’s love is objective, LGBT love is not, merely a feeling, - God’s love is genuine & was created by Him, LGBT love is entirely delivered from a sinful nature which is offensive, No semantic tricks involved & especially no circular logic, that’s an absurd claim with insufficient evidence. The scripture implicitly states that the union is between as husband & wife; a man & a woman, and explicitly denounces anything besides that, namely homosexual love, as a sin (Leviticus 18:22 - an “abomination”). A basic reading of scripture paints this very clear, why else would the LGBT denounce the Bible? It contradicts their entire worldview. Therefore, the only true love can come from the one who created it; God, and that love is not LGBT’s twisted idea of love. 2. Demanding evidence for this claim is strange; it’s a well known element of scripture, perhaps you should read it yourself to think critically: - “For this cause God gave them up to vile affections, for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the women, burned in their lust toward another, men working with men that which is unseemly…” - Romans 1:26-27. - [ ] Here, the apostle Paul is talking about God‘s anger at sinful humanity & clearly indicates homosexuality with the term “lust toward another” - Lust; the strong sexual desire toward another, thus it seems to be a sharp declaration of these acts - Homosexuality of both sexes, a sin. This carries on from the Old Testament Law in which it was explicitly clear that men lying with other men (Being sexual or romantic) is a “abomination”. Concluding: If this doesn’t show you that scripture implicitly states the LGBT lifestyle as an abomination to God, perhaps that’s a problem with your standard of proof than the evidence from scripture. 3. What is the natural law? It’s the law we humans are to abide by whilst on earth, it’s called the “natural” law - Devoid of supernatural elements. God made the law, and as He is the eternal creator of the universe, there would be no one better to make it than Him. Who else would we have make it? Joe Biden? This answer cannot be logically inconsistent because the premises are very clear. That is the second time you’ve claimed circular logic & not shown me exactly what is circular without evidence; it assumes the answer is the same or similar to the premises, which is fallacious thinking: - Premise 1: There is a natural law, - Premise 2: God, being the creator of all, also creates the natural law, - Premise 3: God is perfect, can be trusted & the best to follow for guidance, - Premise 4: Therefore, it is wise to trust how God has laid out the natural law to us. Now, I agree that there are faulty interpretations; plenty of people get God’s word completely wrong for their own benefit, like abortion activists. That said, scripture isn’t as deadpan as is implied; certainly verses can be interpreted, but the core doctrine & messages on human sexuality are not. As such, no respected Biblical scholar will tell you that the Bible does not regard the homosexual lifestyle as sin, crystal clear that is. Concluding thoughts: What have we learned? There are two types of love - People’s idea of love & God‘s objective love, and it is wiser to trust in God than in man. Also, scripture implicitly condemns homosexuality as sin & denying such would qualify as a delusion; a belief held despite strong contradictory evidence. The interpretation of humans doesn’t apply to human sexuality in the Bible; it is very clear that romantic love is between a man & a woman, and people must either accept God’s stance or not.

We have to be very careful with how we address issues such as same-sex attraction as Christians. There are some in this comment section claiming that people that suffer from same-sex attraction are just choosing to be that way. One does not choose their temptations only whether they act them out. There ARE people who, by no fault of their own, are attracted to others of the same-sex. Its a temptation just like the proclivity toward gossip or lust. We all have to combat these with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Their temptations have something to do with what caused them to have those temptations. What happened? Where did they come from? How have they infected their minds? What did they allow to happen to them that resulted in those temptations? It's their lifestyle, the road that they chose for themselves. It doesn't necessarily have to be anything that they're born with, but with something that they chose. It definitely has to do with choice. No sane individual actually believes that they were born a certain way that makes them feel sexual or romantic relations for the same sex. Lust ans gossip are choices that people have made to do, so they are tested. When they fail a certain test, there are consequences. However, they are given chances, and those that succeed are rewarded. The Holy Ghost helps anybody with these sorts of situations and obstacles in their lives.

"Who is to say?" she asks. God is to say. You can have all of the feelings you like. It is how you ACT on those feelings that determines if you are following a path of righteousness. Have a feeling that contradicts God's word? That feeling is a CHALLENGE to you, one where you must struggle AGAINST that feeling, and NOT follow it up with an action. The young woman wants to assert that her feelings should be acted upon, but there is no truth in that idea. I am reminded of Judges, 21:5..."In those days, there was no king in Israel, and every man did that which was right in his own eyes." Friends, God knows better than we do, and better than any feeling we have towards another. In order to accept the free gift of salvation, you must be willing to undertake the struggle against what WE want, and instead favor what GOD wants.

I've had romantic feelings toward women that I shouldn't have acted on... which I acted on. And we both paid the price. In one case almost ruining our friendship. In another case, absolutely ruining it, and in most of them, tarnishing my testimony before her. Most of these women I actually loved, romantic feelings aside. Still do. Just because you have romantic feelings for someone doesn't mean it's automatically a wonderful thing that should be explored. That's absolute nonsense. Your feelings come and go, brought about by all kinds of things. Having not acted upon those feelings our friendships, the way they see me, and my testimony all would have flourished and yet I cut it all to the root. Did I marry any of them? Nope. But I learned from it. But two things I've also noticed... One, that the World VERY much holds the stance that homosexuality is your identity; That you are to root yourself into this part of you and THAT is who you truly are. And number two: to worship your identity as an idol, so that if the God of the universe rejects your homosexuality - your identity - then you are to reject Him. But if he accepts it, ONLY AFTER HE BOWS DOWN TO YOUR IDOL, may He be worthy of your worship. This is SELF-worship. And asinine.

The Religious Right that persecuted gays is rooted in the Catholic belief that the Church should be a driving force in any economy, their politics, and their laws. The actual Biblical Church you read about in the New Testament believed the exact opposite. People who practice homosexuality are sinners just like anyone else. There’s no way in hell they have ONE sin, and are perfect besides that. We are ALL guilty of just about everything, as human corruption runs DEEP. @sspann114 жыл бұрын
@just repelsteeltje I'm saying if you do it God's way, you wouldn't even fall in love with a person of the same sex, because you wouldn't start dating them in the first place. God says you can marry who you want under the bounds of holy matrimony. God defined Holy matrimony as between a man and a woman in Genesis 2:24. While talking to the Pharisees in Mark 10:7-9, Jesus said..."For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother, and the two shall become one flesh ; so they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate." Jesus was radical in His ministry. An "eye for an eye" changed to "give them your other cheek". "Thou shalt not murder" expanded to being angry at a person is like murdering them. Physical adultery changed to even lusting after someone in your mind was now adultery. But when it came to holy matrimony, he didn't say you heard it said (in Genesis) that a man should leave his parents and join with his wife, well I say you can join with whoever you want. No it didn't go that way. In Mark 10:7-9 Jesus actually affirms what His Father said in Genesis. Therefore, any type of sex or lust outside the bounds of Holy matrimony, (God's definition, not the United States), is sexual immorality. Whether that's sex between two men, two women, or an unmarried man and woman.

sspann 11, being righteous is more important than giving in to any kind of lust. It should become a cultivated habit from childhood to keep away from lusts of all kinds, the lust of flesh, the lust for money, power, etc. This is how I have been trained to live from my Hindu upbringing. In Hindu society, we are free for the most part from alcohol, drugs, adultery, homosexuality, etc. That is why I love what Jesus said, " if you look at a woman with lustful eyes, gouge out your eyes, for it is better to go to heaven as a blind man rather go to hell as a sinner". We Hindus (the true ones ) follow the teachings of Christ and ten commandments more than Christians themselves. Now a days, the American influences have corrupted the younger generations of India and almost the world. A spiritual rediscovery is required for all us. Fortunately or Unfortunately, what Americans do, the entire world follows. Therefore, I sincerely believe that Jesus is very relevant to American society today. They can change the world and make it better.. To me it is not a matter of religion; it is a matter of universal morality.

I just stumbled across this. Love the way this man approached the subject at hand. If only I could be this eloquent and forthcoming.

I admire this young woman's courage. She was born gay but commanded by god to be strait. What an unloving abusive god. How can any rational being accept that?

The Christlike, respectful, yet firm on God’s standards, way he handles this discussion is so beautiful. I pray for this gift to grow within myself. Knowing and following God’s will within myself gains ground for me, but sharing that knowledge and setting an example that encourages others to follow gains ground for Him and my lack of gentleness gets in the way more than I would like to admit.

@@pastorbri ? I’m confused on your reply and how it pertains to my comment. I guess I don’t see the correlation or your point

No James, these are his standards based on his particular reading of scripture(the Bible never mentions lesbians). And he's hardly respectful, he's practically dripping in condecension.

@@GrokfordThe bible mentions same sex intercourse? Lesbians are Gays didn’t exist as concepts back then since people didn’t really imagine homosexual relationships. The bible does state same sex intercourse as inherently evil however, that is undeniable

I mean she can't help the way God made her. It's not her choice to feel that way. What is she supposed to do? Never fall in love? Seems like hell to me

Why would gay acts be bad? Not how do we know it is so, as to say it says so in the bible. But what is wrong with it? I don't get it...

Homosexuality is harmless. It's the religion that is harmful.
