Why Yasuo is So Hated

My son started as my support, having landed on Soraka, which seemed to pair well with my main, Nilah. After about a week of playing, all he could talk about were the Yasuo' he had encountered on our team, the enemy team, and online. I told him to give it a shot, and he had a blast getting wrecked mid. He asked if I could play his support if he went ADC, and I agreed. We spent almost the entirety of the second split of season 13 going Yasuo/Zyra and finished S2/S3 in ranked, for our first season playing League. He decided to main mid Yasuo for season 14, and has only improved in mechanics and fundamentals. He absolutely loves it, and it's given us more time than ever to hang out. He was a Fortnite junkie beforehand, and I could never get a hang of that game. He even moved his PC from his room to my office and we game in the same room!

I wonder if you think the same about yone. Most people hate Yasou because of those who play him but Yone is about how overloaded his kit is. Is it like Yasou wind wall (players being too lazy to think and put effort against it) or is yone truly "broken"?

My view of Yone has always been that he is fundamentally just a "Yasuo Clone" for those that cant play the actual Yasuo.. They are the exact same champion but Yone has a "fail-safe" mechanic. If Yasuo moves forward with his E, he cant move backwards the same way, because of the individual timer per target. Hes stuck once he commits so you need really good judgement to play Yasuo. Yone on the other hand, can use his E, and bail out anytime he messes up or miscalculate a fight. If anything is fundamentally broken with Yone, its only his E in my opinion. He needs more risk in order to be balanced. Either remove the ramping movement speed, or lock him so he cant E backwards early and force him to commit. So yes, Yone is a bit different, but also not "broken" to the point that hes not fixable. Of course thats just my opinion 👍

@@ECPlaysLoL I have to agree, I played both and I'm absolutely terrible with Yasuo but I feel much better with Yone. His E really helps a lot I must admit. He's the first champion I was introduced to when I started the game and it helped me "limit test" with his E and start to get a grasp on the basics of the games fundamentals. I'm starting to understand the game a bit better and I'll try jungle as you said in other videos, I like feeling impactful even if it's in the shadows 💪

yone is much easier to dealt with than yasuo, motherfucker yasuo is perm ban in my rank game. fuck this champ. at least yone dont have bs wind wall and bs wind shield.

It's the same with any champion who has a sword, they either start feeding or get a lead and then start feeding, by trying a bunch of 5v1, always going for bad plays. As a jungler I never waste my time getting them strong, it won't ever be my winning condition, they'll throw the game at some point.

I use that to my advantage as I am jungling. If I know that they are going to start random fights, I prepare for a counter gank or a cross map play. So regardless if they win or lose their silly little fights, I still come out on top, and I swing the gold lead back towards my own team.

The problem with Yasuo, and Yone for different reasons, is the same that some other champs have, but the nature of their mobility, no mana kit and reliance on AA means that they feel worse to play because it's so fucking easy for them to gain the upper hand. This reason is that "when the opponent picks them, you stop playing your champion and you have to play accordingly to the opponents pick". Yes, in theory this applies to all lanes and matchups, but they make it so much worse fo ra reason or another. Other examples of this "category" are Illaoi or Fiora. When you play vs Yasuo, you don't play your lane, you play his lane. Unless he fucks up bad, he can farm any way and push you endlessly. You can't engage him and he gets to engage you through minions and every 3 Qs. This is better than Yone, but still incredibly annoying because most Mid champs are Assassins (that can't burst him down because of shield and mobility) and Mags (that get chased down by him and can't burst him either, nor poke him properly).

I can def improve at the game, and learn how to play around his ww more. But man, I still hate it. Out of all the abilities in the game it's the one that invalidates my existence as an adc completely for 4 seconds. Maybe it's just too wide, or maybe the duration is too long. It doesn't have to go away, but I just feel like the skill expression of it has training wheels on it rn. If the width was significantly smaller it could be balanced, if it even blocks one ult, a jinx rocket, a draven ult, a cait ult etc, it's worth. No reason why it should block extended aa and ranged combos.

I mean don't hate yasuo, i hate some people who play him. Do they have to flash mastery after a kill or any ability they block with their wind wall? Or whenever they hit a Q lol why they always do that

Its like I said, they have huge egos..The thing is, if you flash your Mastery, you will most likely trigger them to play even more aggro and int even faster 😁

Aight, I gonna comment before I watched the video. Yasuo and even more his wind shitting brother Yone, are annoying. With Yasuo for me it ends with annoying. He's like an adhd kid infused with sugar to play against. He jumps through your wave shits his winds at you and has really annoying item spikes not to mention that ugly ass wall... BUT that is all. Yone on the other hand is imo way more frustrating to play against. He got unbelivable toxic trading patterns, he dishes out a respectable amount of damage as magic damage, his E is one of the most badly designed skills ever, he got the same dumb passive as his brother and every freaking one of his abalities got these like extra toppings -> Q yeah well give this a knock up on top, W lets add a shield, E ... yes lets add an displacment immunity when it ends and also let have a mark for extra damage like a mini zed ult. ah yes and R knock down, stun. knock up, additionly mixed damage. Imo he feels like you got a big Sundae and someone keeps adding toppings while you are eating it. I digress... sorry for the lil rant. Even before I saw the video, I'm sure great work was done again, thank you! small update after watching the video. As a silver/gold player I ban yasuo in mid bc there are a lot of yasuo players/onetricks and they may be also silver/gold players, but they got a ton of champion mastery, because they play so much yasuo and are therefore mechanically relativly good.

agree, Yone E is one of the most overloaded skill in the game: dash x 2 + MS increase + damage increase + cc removal + true damage + execution marked Yone is a child play compares to Yasuo

Agree, People hate Yasuo mostly because they do not play and understand him. Yasuo is a special duelist against range champion so just pick melee like Irelia, renekton, etc Yasuo kit encourages risky and bad play, and once he fucked, he kept getting more fucked. Tip: when you see a Yasuo uses his W efficiently (low HP AA baits, block lilia R, etc), intentionally short-move to stack shield passive and weave in more AA than E. You know that game will be a challenge.

I play a lot of different champions with skillshots that I talk about on the channel, Gwen, Diana, Nocturne etc.. Yeah I dont play Velkoz into Yasuo or Ahri into Yasuo, but I am aware that if I want to play those type of champions, and the enemy picks Yasuo, that I am going to have to adapt to the situation
