How can we do not be thankful to Behringer... I mean sincerely... They bring back pure old synth gems to us, plus with adding modern technology into them to enjoy at 100% these gems... isn’t it a dream? Be honest... It’s not like the original brands didn’t know since DECADES AND DECADES that we all want back these old analog synthesizers!!! But they don’t do it so........ I’m a 41 yo guy, I’ve grown up with so beautiful synthesizers sounds in my ears, from legendary musics, tv shows, legendary cartoons, legendary movies... And I arrived in a moment in my life where I deeply feel the need to listen again these so iconic synths sounds and play with it... And thanks to Behringer I can do it... THANK YOU BEHRINGER. SO MUCH. Big salut from France 🇫🇷 Vinz🙋♂️

I knew it! Just knew it when you did the review of the UDO :-) :-) I love this synth - had the Deepmind 6 for a while but had to sell it because it was too heavy for the kind of Gigging I do. I got the DeepMind 12D, the desktop version on a Black Friday sale for just over $400.00 USD. This is the most used piece of gear in my Studio and I still cannot believe that I only picked it up for just over $400.00 USD. I would have gladly paid $700.00 or $800.00 USD for this synth out of a sale and I cannot recommend this synth highly enough! It's definitely the BEST Poly synth out there in it's price range! I'm hoping to pickup the Deepmind 6 Keyboard one in the near future when it's "hopefully" on sale again. I totally regret not getting the DM6 when it was going for $359.00 Brand New about 2 years ago. Big Regret! But hopefully will have a chance at that price range again during the annual big sales.....Great Overview once again and great video! Thank you!

I have the desktop version here in my studio and, like Jack has said it is a wonderful piece of kit .The sound possibilities are almost endless perhaps having a much more expensive analogue synth may not give you the depth you have with the DeepMind .One other thing you can do with it is that you can polychain this synth to other DeepMind .

Yeah it`s a fine machine to start with ( or maybe just stick with ) and for the money that it is these days insanley good at the price. I have the 12D and when u get into making your own sounds you can do just about any type of Synth sound that you like on it and the TC Electronic FX are supreme and a huge bonus for pads, soundscapes etc. Sure I`m a Synth nut these days and I have many mono and poly syhths Analog and a few digital and yeah in the polysynth world I prefer my Prophet Rev 2 and Korg Prologue overall but this still brings something to the party for me and if I wasn`t such a synth nut I could own just this to cover all the Synth bases that I care about and it would do a good job at least ......... I`d still need my Nord Electro 6 as well for the realworld keys, pianos and realistic sample synth stuff but that`s it .................

Great demo! I wanted to suggest if you guys would do a video on multi effects well suited for synths. Say you have a non-stereo synth that you want to simply, in one pedal or board, or iPad, add stereo effects such as Drive/Rotory/Chorus/Phaser/Delay/Rev. Something like the Yamaha Reface CP has as effects board, something small and fully capable that we could sit on top of a keyboard. Some people suggests the Keeley DDR, which is great but that ain't stereo, and would need an extra chrous, modulation pedal. Perhaps there is an iPad range of multi effects such as the Boehringer here for the deep mind, that could take other sources. An iPad has the advantage of portability and simplicity for sitting on top of your keyboard, but lacks the physical controls. There is a lot to discuss in a video like that, hope you guys nail it!!!

My first experience with synths were digital, back in the late 80: Roland LA synths, first the LAPC-I (internal PC sound card version of the CM32L, which in turn was the slightly extended version of the MT32) and then the D-20. I spent many hours making timbre patches with my DOS sound editor. No knobs or sliders, just a mouse and virtual knobs and sliders on my PC screen. But it was sooooo good for creating envelopes, just klicking on any part of the curve and dragging it in place. When I first had to create envelopes on (virtual) analog synths in the late 90s, I felt a little lost and often reverted to using editor software instead of physical knobs because I needed the visual feedback of actually seeing the shape of the envelope curve.

Well, all the reasons are also valid for experienced and professional players. Don't take me wrong, it was a passionate presentation, but I'd like to see the DeepMind 12 presented more often as a suitable synth for experienced players who simply can't or don't want to spend 3-4 times more in a synth with less capabilities and very similar sound quality.

Jack, I love your humor and wit, which is implemented into most all of your presentations, and furthermore, 1) Your personal enthusiasm, 2) Great "ad hoc" keyboard flexibility, and 3) Excellently wide bandwidth of musical skills, for multiple genres, playing techniques, & etc. All of that said, I think your 1st goal here is not for me, or for others, but to sell Behringer 12, rather than to help anyone choose their "1st Synth". I don't fault you for that aspect, except I prefer articulation over ambiguity, so "to me", your title should "denote" the fact that the synthesizer here being focused on is 1) Analog (that should reflect in title) and 2) Having a 12 note polyphony. Your 1st trajectory & goal here is (imo) not helping aspiring "new to synth" keyboardists, but rather, "sell Behringer", & specifically this model. 😉 I "get it" sales people are just that, but, ... from a "presentation" standpoint, accurate portrayal, categorically is nice also. Suggestion, first describe the general "who" this model would be for, then "the why-so", from an "end-user", pivoting perspective, instead of "Gee, I need to sell this product" perspective ... in the first place, then "Drill Down", from there. Mountains and hills start at their base, not their half-way mark. I risk "sounding overly critical", only because I know you are extremely versatile, resilient, and Effective already, thus, I expect more, in your selling psychology and marketing transparency, ... "as a person", versus "product push", if that makes sense. i.e. "Parameters" such as "who" is your audience, what are their short range goals, what "might be" their long range goals, etc. If I'm "missing" something obvious, then excuse me, but in reading titles, that is what comes to my mind. while reviewing.

Great video and thank you. After a very long time without synths I've started again last year. And my first choice was the Behringer DeepMind12. A really amazing synth when compared to the last synth I sold years ago (it was a Roland JP8000). What I like a lot is the excellent universe of sounds the DM12 offers and the quality. Some little dislike for the factory sound presets ... some are pretty weird but after "upgrading" the DM12 with the fantastic patches of GEOSynths the DM12 is the core of my setup. And you have always to keep in mind what exciting synth you get for such less money. 5 thumbs up for your recommendation.

Thanks Jack for a great first choice synth for a newb. It's still my favourite Behringer synth, but I didn't have the space in my studio so I bought the DeepMind 12D from Andertons instead. Hope the Maltese Falcon is well and staying safe?
