I am an Amazon prime user. The 5% back is awesome with their card using Amazon purchases. 2% back at gas stations and grocery stores is nice too.

I recommend the new credit card by Wells Fargo for gas and grocery. It's called the Wells Fargo Autograph Visa. You get 3x points on grocery and gas (1 point = 1 cent) which is basically 3% back with no annual cap. Unless you have the Costco Visa, which offers 4% back on Costco gas up to $7k/year.

@@happytoberu Amazon Prime Visa is good for Amazon purchases. But it's only 2% back on gas and grocery. I agree, WF is garbage. But 3x points isn't bad. There is a Discover Card that offers 5% back on gas, but it caps at $500/year. That's like, 3 tanks of gas with today's prices... 🤣🤣

I treat my Apple Card just like a corporate Amex; I use it mainly to reap the rewards, funneling as much through it as I can, but always paying off the balance every month. It just doesn't make sense to carry a balance with the Apple Card since it will quickly offset your reward dollars when you have to start paying interest.

How do you physically pay off the card balance at the end of the month. I understand how this card would be used, but not how you pay it off each month.

@@jimbob4456 on the day that I go to pay it each month before the due date, I look at what the total balance is and that's how much I pay for the month. @@marcberm I didn’t know you could have links to multiple bank accounts. That would be good. One other question if you don’t mind. Say I have some money in a bank that is in a standard savings account and I want to transfer it to the Apple savings that I would of setup. How is something like that done. Is the transfer initiated from my Bank savings account or from the Apple savings account. Thanks
@marcberm
@marcberm Жыл бұрын
@@jimbob4456 I'm not entirely sure but I think the Apple Card can only link to a checking account for payments, vs. savings accounts. The accumulated cash back can also be transferred to the same checking account but again that's not savings. The Apple Card is just a credit card vs. an account like a checking or savings that are meant to hold money.

Top tip: with a card like the Blue cash or Blue cash preferred, you can get 3% or 6% back on Apple purchases respectively by just buying Apple gift cards from your local grocery store (it's slightly less than 6% for the preferred if you take into account the annual fee, blue cash has no annual fee). Slightly more work for this, but even for someone that regularly buys Apple devices, it's not really difficult to do. The same trick can be used on other gift cards from other merchants too, plus there is the other cash back categories. So while I agree the Apple card is very simple, you can get greater gains with just a little more planning.

One important thing you didn’t mention about the physical card in restaurants is that in the US most servers take the cards back somewhere out of sight to process the charge. I’ve been the victim of fraud this way before, and I really like the fact that the Apple Card has NO numbers on it for criminals to steal. For this reason, it my go-to card in restaurants generally (unless Discover is offering 5% that quarter). The other thing I like about it is how easy it is to use with Banktivity or Quicken. Yes, it won’t automatically download into those financial apps, but at the end of the month it is easy to download through the wallet app and import with a couple of clicks into the software using any file type you want. I didn’t apply for the card for a couple of years because of not being automatic, but that small step is really NBD and it’s worth it to be able to use the Apple Card.

Wow, you even made taking about the Apple credit card … into a cool video. At its introduction, I tried to apply and was told it was only for people who owned an iPhone. Then about a year later, I found out iPad owners could also apply. However, by then, I was no longer interested. Currently, I have been moving my cash assets into local credit union accounts offering 3 percent to 5 percent ARY rates (smile…smile).

You can get 3% back at not just Apple wallet but *any* mobile wallet with the US Bank altitude reserve. Furthermore, rather than redeeming that cash back for money, you can use your rewards towards travel related purchases, by doing this you can clear them out at an even more favorable rate: 1.5X That means: US Bank 1.5 X 3 = 4.5% cash back on everything for not just Apple Pay but any other mobile wallet. Apple Card 2% back with no possible upside in value.

Things bad about apple card for those looking for a honest review. 1. Not many sit down restaurants acept apple pay. (even if they do there are cards like CCC that gives 5% with no anual fee). 2. NO welcome bonus (REALLY IMPORTANT). 3. No travel partners. So forget about using this card for flights. 4. And the biggest of all is that there a cards that are just better. The whole goal a credit cards should be have a wide selection for every use to get max value. And 2% flat with no welcome bonus it does not cut it anymore. this card is perfect for begginers but if you have credit. there are so many options that are just better.

I suppose 1 quart per though is if you wanted to do Apple Care with your product you can do that over the length of time your financing that product instead of either the monthly charge until canceled or the two years all upfront 😊

Seems like a neat card, but I already have a Citi Costco Visa so I'll stick with my Citi DoubleCash MC. I like only having 1 credit card website to deal with when paying bills and I don't mind the reward/payout structure of the DoubleCash MC.

My mom has the double cash card. Where I live apple pay is not accepted in nearly as many retailers so it is much better for her to get the same rewards. I am in college so apple pay is accepted nearly everywhere, so I went for the apple card (and because there was no way I was getting approved for the double cash; I have little credit history). Double cash is fantastic though, I wouldn't get rid of it, especially if you've had it a long time.

Love my Apple Card! It's one of Apple's best services in my opinion. The UI is so clean, and nice to use. Also I can not wait for the new Saving Account! Greg didn't mention the 0% APR installments from the Apple store on many products, or the iPhone Upgrade Program (IUP), which also gives you 3% back on monthly installments. The card isn't perfect, and I too would like to see more places partner with Apple for 3% back! Likewise there is still many companies that still REFUSE to accept Apple Pay - Walmart, Amazon and a few others...
@edgarmares4756
@edgarmares4756 Жыл бұрын
I believe the reason places do not accept Apple Pay (or tap pay in general) is because the credit card processing companies tend to charge a higher processing fee per transaction versus the conventional method. Not entire sure why that is but I would assume they consider it more risky since the actual card is not present.

2% cash back and 20% interest. Definitely a genius financial strategy. Even if you pay off the balance each month, people tend to spend an additional 20% vs cash or debit. Moreover, 55% of people carry a credit card balance. But go ahead and keep making the credit card companies rich. That being said I do use credit cards, but it seems unwise to glamourize them.

They gotta make money some how🤷‍♂️. Don’t like it? Don’t use it. Credit is needed with just about everything in life from house to car. Buy what you can afford to pay off in full at the end of the month. If you live by those rules you might just love all the benefits of credit cards. You can’t be mad for something they don’t force you to do.

It really sucks that you need the Apple card in order to get the savings account. I'm in enough debt as it is and I refuse to go into more debt. Apple needs to fix this. It's discrimination because I want to get a savings account but I shouldn't have to take out more credit cards just to get a good savings account. I know I'm going to get rejected for the Apple Card. It's not fair. I work so hard to get a good credit score and it's never going to be good enough for the Apple card. sometimes I wonder why I even bother trying.

The Exxon 3 percent cash back reward has been great. That's about 10 cents a gallon at prices where I live. Add another 3 cents off a gallon with the Exxon Mobil rewards program. I can add another 1-cent discount by linking my AARP account (old man alert) for a total of about 14 cents a gallon. I've noticed that more merchants are offering a pay with Apple card option online,. I'm completely satisfied with the Apple card.
