Good video. Quite insightful when comparing the open world terrain of Elden Ring and able to point out the design differences and shortcomings. Seems like most players and Elden Ring fans were captivated by its awesome visuals, but paid less attention to the more formulaic nature of its terrain when compared to the more organic terrain in Dragon's Dogma 2 that feels more natural to traverse. And glad to see some analysis in different aspects of the game from a slightly different angle than most DD2 reviews I've seen. Thanks for putting this together. It was an enjoyable watch.

The issue is that people always complain about what they don’t like about the game. But they never praise what makes the game good. And so when people online search for information on this game, the majority of the information is mostly other people complaining about how bad this game is and very few good things are said about it. The new players after doing research about it goes into the game with a set mindset about how bad the game is, and 3 to 4 hours in, after they confirmed the issues, they just drop it and go complain online again.

Agree plus for me and other normal fans game is great.Have almost 800 hours in tho ofc have some issue or something could be better done but all games have.

We got it. It wasn't enough. There were things taken out, from DA in DD2...Why? The game is still incomplete. It's got a great core. But to act like we didn't get it, is a joke. You don't understand when a game has not been properly made and finished, if you even remotely think this is a "complete" game, when they had to add the ability to turn ray tracing off on consoles.....All the gear that does not exist outside of shops, unlike DA, no hard mode on release is a joke. The dificulty (or rather lack there of) is horrible, the taking away of abilities for "4 for all" is fundamentally bad. The sever lack of overall skills, and augs. Some skills should have been core abilities, like counter attack for Fighter...Why is the ability to retaliate locked behind a skill???. Not even going to get into the rest of the neutered classes, or the removal of Mystic Knight, but kept the enchanted shield fighter skill? Again, why? All the shops in Vern, that are advertised in game, The fishmonger, the herbalist etc they have pampflits you can read about them selling items, you go to them, and nothing, no shop. The fact death is not permanant, they just respawn after x days. Thats bad. Crime is not possible. Can't steal, you can slay npc's with little to no recorse from guards or others. The overall worse versions of skills. Look at DA sorc, then look at DD2 sorc, what is there to "not get" DD2 sorc is fundamentally worse in every regard. The meister skills. Why is there no quest? I walk into the nameless village not 5 minutes ago and already the master theif is teaching me his strongest skill, becasue....why? Even Skyrim's horrendous fighters guild quest took longer. Or the acquiring of Spearhand. There should have been an entire line of stuff, but no, fight a dragon, and now thi amazing awarrior is all like, "hey stranger, here is the teaching of an incredible hard, deadly skill set. have fun lol." What? Nothing has true meaning or impact. There is SO much that is problematic with this game, yet it is still oddly good. There are great bones here, but if this is what Itsuno calls his true vision" of this game? He needs to step down and let whoever handled DA dlc to do the entire game. We got the game just fine, it fell short by miles. When you have people GOING BACK to DDDA, after playing DD2. Thats a problem. Maybe you dont get it?

I enjoyed the game, but it has a couple issues with the two main aspects of gameplay (combat and exploration) that really hindered my experience. The combat is way too easy, imo. After level 30 or so, i didnt even have to pay attention and i ditched the hired pawns. Most of the enemies have extremely limited movesets and are way too passive. The exploration experience was lessened for me because you can just buy everything at a merchant. No unique gear to look for. After i realized i wasnt going to find anything good in the world, i didn't feel a need to explore anymore. Its a shame because the world design was amazing. It's extra frustrating to me because the game was almost great. So much i love about it, but those two issues are huge for me personally.

There are a shit ton of items vendors don't sell. They usually (with a few exceptions) sell some great gear but not really the best. Unless you're playing an Archer or Thief(maybe) the best gear is behind bosses or caves. I agree on the difficulty though

"I think that original has not really managed to stand the test of time..." After this line I stopped watching this video. Think about fans playing DDDA for a whole decade and after finishing DD2 many returned to original instead to spend more time in DD2. Doesn't it show that DDDA rather passed the test of time if many prefer original over the sequel? Like Nihil, for example, - one of the most respected players among the community who did do so many researches of hidden game mechanics in Dragon's Dogma!
