Thank you for explaining how the body moves when we are walking. I have Ankylosing Spondylitis and am in recovery from an extremely painful flare episode that lasted a year. I have challenges in all the joints you described that enable us to walk. I have been cleared to exercise and go to physical therapy finally so will try to incorporate these movements into my daily routine.

Please recommend a excercise that can improve my walking, because for 3 years my left leg gives way when I want to step on it😢 also pain on the outside of the hip, so I opted for a walking stick. Scans and X-rays didn’t explain the problem. Thank you for your time.

I am having the same problem as you have mine is caused by degenerative discs in the back pinching my sciatic nerve I have weakness in the leg if I turn a certain way I could just collapse so I'm using a cane also Plus I do have bone-on bone in the hip but they say a lot of times that doesn't really have pain so I've been using red light therapy on the discs in my back I bought a handheld unit and I also I'm going to purchase a shockwave therapy wand that can break up and make more flexible the discs and if a nerve is being pinched no artificial joint for me and no operation on my back for me and I also did QC Kinetics in Asheville North Carolina and they said it would take time for the cartilage to build and I'm praying that it works thank you

Hi Alyssa hope all is well. I just git finished watching your "Hip" video and LOVED IT!!! So many unanswered questions throughout the years were answered in a matter of seconds!!! So much so, that I subscribed to your channel!! Thank you so much for that ❤ When you mentioned that you made a "KNEE" video I nearly jumped for JOY. Not yet but soon LOL with the help of your videos. I will continue to listen, learn and EDUCATE myself along with setting a few short term goals for myself. Slowly but surely, baby steps if I have to,to achieve them. One such fpal is ro ride a bike again !! Not that I don't know how,it just becomes difficult and very painful to raise my R knee. I also find myself for rhe past two or so yrs.walking backwards down the flights of stairs (family and friends home) but while put of homes I descend like a child, one leg and one step at a time. Believe it or not this same leg with the painful knee is rhe dominate , up and down the steps. But that will change with your video.😁👍 😅

There are situations when surgery is the best option. We were given brains and not to use them is an insult to your creator. Leaving aside the need for your doctor to make money, esp if you live, say, in the US, most doctors aim to use their knowkedge for your benefit. At least listen to them. Ask for the reasons he/she suggests surgery. Ask about alternatives such as 1 to 1 physio advice. Dont be fooled by ads for cbd either. The doses are far too low. But the use of your own mind using relaxation and the placebo effect of telling yourself this is reducing the problem is free.

Absolutely Mind Blown!! I injured myself September 2023, diagnosed with left ankle trimalleolar fracture. I am almost 12 visits in to my physical therapy journey and still felt very apprehensive putting full weight on my left ankle, partially due to mobility and fear. I came across this post and it addressed my insecurity which gave me confidence to try the 3 exercises. I’m shocked!!!! I tried each exercise 3 times, each time paying attention to the mobility of my toes, the position and movement of my entire foot and leg and I immediately started taking longer steps with very minimal limp. Thank you, you are a life saver! Anyone who’s suffered injury or dealing with mobility restriction knows how I feel. It is a physical, emotional and mental journey. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 I can’t thank you enough!

Three years ago I was a long distance backpacker, long distance biker, and adventurer. Then I had a stroke. I went through all the PT and did all the medical things I was told to do and I can now walk and open bottles and all the things, except adventure. This was a nightmare and depressing. I gained lots of weight. My hips, hip flexors, legs and back were weak and so stiff. Then a month ago I found your videos and I know its for arthritis but its helped me so much! I think in time I'll be able to get back to adventure again. I can't tell you how much hope and normalcy i have got from your videos helping me. I can pick up things from the ground, i have less stiffness and I have more range of motion in my bad foot. Thank you so much for these videos I know they weren't for me but they have given me pain relief and hope.

This is absolutely fantastic. I'm a dancer that has had serious foot injuries, limping and other gait, leg, hip, and back problems and I've been to 12 different physical therapy labs in Los Angeles with most graduates from USC or UCLA and I have never gotten one of your common sense solutions from any PT lab.!!! I've turned to KZbin for help which has provided common sense from around the planet and thank goodness I did that for myself. Thank you so much. And what just helped is the foot collective and pain academy. My foot arch is being rebuilt.

I love this channel. Alyssa has helped me a lot. Before I found this channel, I used to go to Physical Therapy for a knee injury and needed leg strength because I became weaker with that injury. The therapist where I WAS going was so lazy, He'd show how to do an exercise one time......and that was it. He wouldn't come back to see if I need assistance or if I was even doing the exercise correctly. After two months I left, I felt I was wasting my money! I found THIS channel with Alyssa and have been exercising with her videos. She has helped a lot. 💜

What I especially like about your practice suggestions is, that these exercises can be done in any room or outside, without any special equipment or lying on the floor. It is all just so practical and easy to understand. And thank you for your measured delivery. Some other well meaning therapists just talk too fast for me, I suppose when you need to focus whilst coping with your disability, your mind cannot take up additional information at the speed it could without the disability. Thank you, you are ablessing.

To anyone who thinks these movements/exercises are easy, please never take for granted if you’re able to do these without pain. I am doing all of these exercises with my PT in my pre surgery rehab, for my total hip replacement coming in May. My right hip is my issue, and these micro movements are incredibly painful, when they were not just a year ago! Keep working and keep moving. This channel has been so helpful for me in getting ready for my surgery, and I’ve downloaded several videos to help me in my recovery after surgery.

Thank you for this video!❤ I started having extreme tailbone pain over 2 years ago, the past year horrible plantar fasciitis with nerve pain. Walking has been so painful and limited! I noticed my hips hurting when I would do the little bit of walking. About 2 weeks ago, I started doing 10-minute yoga videos for hips, glutes, and tailbone....I believe it's helping. Now, I'll include your video exercises! I have gained weight being so depressed with my body issues these past few years, but I'm determined to reclaim my health! I had been searching for videos to help walk, I didn't find any helpful ones until now! I definitely could tell my limping & overcompensating when walking was aggravating everything! Get an MRI on lumbar region. I had same issue as you and was told I needed hip replacement. One leg looked longer than the other. T turned out I had spinal stenosis. The limping comes from sacral of the back per Dr Ennis who has a KZbin channel. Best advice because if I went with hip replacement I would have had an expensive surgery for nothing. Neither of those hip doctors were good at explaining hip pain / limping and longer leg with turn out foot. So that made me doubt hip surgery was in the cards. In the end I had to have spinal fusion surgery.

Thank you so much for this video. It's been so helpful to me. I have a combination of tight tendons, hip bursitis and an old injury in one leg that added up to a persistent limp and soreness. I tried some bursitis PT exercises from another channel but found them so painful I couldn't keep up with them. The heel lifts and staggered heel lifts worked wonders for me. I couldn't do many at first, but I could see progress -- each time, I could do more. Best of all, they caused no pain. From another of your videos, I learned that my default stance was on one leg and called "hip adduction" and that it wasn't helping my situation. So whenever I found myself getting into that stance, I did heel lifts instead. 😀 I got to the point I could do heel lifts throughout washing the dishes. I realized tonight I could stand still and bear weight on both feet without hip adduction and without pain or soreness for the first time in months or years -- real progress and a big change! Thank you again.

I’ve been diagnosed with having a trendelenburg gait. The P. T. Focused on increasing my glutes strength. Still can not alternate my feet going up and down stairs a little bit better, taking a long time. Going down stairs one leg at a time. Seems like my knee doesn’t want to bend. Love that you are a holistic P.T. Thank you. I’ve subscribed.

Watching this video almost 6 months from a severe ankle sprain and 4 fractures in my foot. PT and acupuncture are helping, but thank you for acknowledging how scary it can be to put weight on that foot. Toe and hip flexibility I am really working on to help with the weaker side that seemed to have forgotten how to walk from using a boot and a knee scooter for months. I will try to do these execises throughout the day to keep things moving (stiffness is the enemy right now). Thank you!

Thank you, thank you.!!! This is a game changer. I am doing your exercises and they are helping so much. I was recently told I have arthritis in my right knee, but probably both, the right one has been the issue. I was told knee replacement in the future. My ex-husband has double knee arthritis and it's bone on bone. Anyway, these exercises are making a difference for me, along with internment fasting and keto ( only eating one meal a day). This helps with inflammation and has already helped me in a short time. This is my 5th day doing the IF. I officially did these exercises and also another video with more exercises. Thank you for your time and caring about others. May God bless you always.

Thank you so much, Alyssa . I have been limping for quite a while now, after a back problem . I had neuro surgery to release a nerve last year. While waiting for the surgery, I developed a limp. I have been doing exercises, and trying to strengthening my muscles and obtain better balance and better movement. I still have a limp, even though I can feel safer and stronger using the leg. I found you this morning. You have explained all I have been through and why, so I feel in control and feel confident I am doing the right thing. Also it is just the right timing to practice these exercises. You are amazing . Thank you Thank you Thank you ❤
