Why You're NOT ACHIEVING Your GOALS - Real Talk

Ever wonder why you haven't achieved your goals? Ask yourself these questions honestly... am I really giving it my all? Am I really putting in as much effort as I think I am? Chances are, you've got more to give.
In this video, I talk about why we often fall short of our goals, not because of being incapable, but because our perceived effort isn't accurate. We tend to think we're doing more than we actually are.
We also tend to be afraid of actually putting in any kind of work that we don't enjoy, or that we find to be "too hard" or too difficult. And during those times, we tend to make excuses for ourselves. The good news is, while it is our responsibility... it's not really our fault. Our brains are hard-wired to push us to only exert a minimal amount of effort with the most return.
Our brains tell us that it's much easier and more rewarding to grab a slice of pizza, sit down and watch the newest episode of Game of Thrones than it is to turn off the TV, get back into our studio, or wherever you make your art, and GET TO WORK!
It really boils down to what is stronger inside you...
your excuses or your will?
It's within us to reach the things we want to achieve with our art, but not without actual hard effort.

Thanks for the advices !.. 👍 💖 🕊 Arshad from AMB Animation Academy says something very true : " don't think you're waisting your time when you believe that learning takes too much time " ... " learning takes time but it's worth it !.. because when you really took the time to learn, working is not as difficult as you were believing. In short : don't try to take shortcuts, the way to really learn will only be longer ! be honest with yourself : if you need to learn, just learn !.. and when it comes to work, work !.. with such a great amount of satisfaction because you know you can do it and do it well !.. " I agree 100 % ! Be kind with you, learning takes time !.. 😉

I'm about to be 37 and only recently achieved my childhood dream of publishing my own comic book. :) When I was younger I wanted to do it by the time I was 20... and honestly, I gave up on it and pursued other artistic jobs. It feels good to go after things, regardless of how long it takes. Like you said, gotta get after it!

Had to pause the video after the math quiz which I replayed twice. My brain won't allow me to continue until I understand it. LOL. I was hoping the explanation was in the comments. (AND I'm am accountant by profession. Did my brain die and I didn't realize it???)

haha, no worries! The question was if you are buying a bat and ball and they cost $1.10 together, but the bat costs a dollar more than the ball, how much is the ball? The answer would be 5 cents for the ball. That makes $1.05 for the bat, and a total of $1.10. Thank so much for your comment! I hope you have a great day!

I'm very much enjoying your videos. Last night I drew another picture of my dad and I was so excited that it looked so much better in such a short time of practice. I sent it to my mom and she didn't recognize it. But I'm not giving up.
