I couldn't agree more with both Mike and Billy! I coach baseball at OCC in CA. I've had the great pleasure to watch a handful of kids I mentored become Big Leaguers. The pride is the reward when they step out on the biggest stage. If your coach isn't a mentor and believes in you and is passionate about your life as an athlete and person than he/she won't help you become everything you can become. Thanks Mike and Billy for being true mentors.

Aside from the comments about Mike not being natural, pushing his line of supplements, having insane genetics, etc., there are some great takeaways in this vid. Being in the same age group as Billy, I agree that younger people today want instant gratification and have an extremely short attention span; if something's not working in a month, they toss it aside and look for something else. No matter who you listen to, there's a common denominator or two: - consistency and relatively clean eating. There's no easy way around it.

Whatever your recipe is Mike it is working for you...That is the main thing...doing for longevity and great health...You know when I was 16 years old my dream was to have 19 inches arms.....33 years later after being a natural competitive bodybuilder ( actually I competed at the Mr. Universe 1996 ABA/INBA in las Vegas and placed runner up Mr. universe ..I know you placed first at the tall class in 1995 at the same contest .I finally reach my dream...So 3 months after I started training people around ( ignorant) were pointing their fingers toward my direction and they said I was in drug :) I took it as a compliment and really didn't care about what they thought.....at 53 years old I'm 240 pounds and I'm 5ft11 ...Its possible when you give consistency to everything you do...knowledge , passion , muscle mind connection , perfect execution , perfectionist , dedication , motivation and the guts to get whatever it take to get there ( except illegal products )..Keep posting interesting podcasts and keep positive

I want to learn about your rep ranges off season, cutting, all parts of the season... I’ve lifted all thru hs and learned what I learned but it seems like everything I’ve learned contradicts what you say. I’m learning mike, I came up with a good range that’s working for me and bringing up my lifts. Been doing 8x8 for eight weeks and now dropping reps by 2 every week until I hit my max week next week. It worked good. But after that idk yet maybe 12-15 rep range for a couple weeks and do the 8x8 again? Would be nice to get any kind of feed back

I mean comon Mike😂. 1st, you have a really good genetic. 2nd, you know your shit very well as far as bodybuilding goes. 3rd, you're on a lot of gear and thats ok but doing 1-2 small different movements while training won't get people with a shape like you unless they're already ifbb pro level on gear. anyway nice content and a lot of gains as always

@Michael Evans Don't know why you try to teach me how working out works (since thats not the point here), I've been training for 10 years (far from knowing everything tho). But you're the one who said "gear has nothing to do with it". Mike is 280+ lbs at like 7-10 bf. Steroids have A LOT to do with it even if he's diet, training and genetic are on point. He would not even be close to this naturally.

Hi everyone .... Could someone answear me one important question .... Sorry for my english if its not correct ... So ... Lets say that my daily calorie intake is 2500kca ... (Protein, carbs, fats, fiber) ... The question is, if i wanna get leaner i should eat 2000kca ..so i will eat till 2000.... But when i workout sometimes thr activity is going to 1000kca minus. .. so normaly i eat 2000 but whit workout is only 1000 .... Should i eat more to fill it up to 2000 and still be in deficit 500? 25000 normal 2000 to cut fats 300-1000kca workout Up to 2000 with workout i have to eat 3000 and still be in deficit from 2500?

I always hated the term getting in shape. It’s a relative term. What does it mean? For bodybuilders if you’re not a jacked ripped bodybuilder that can get on stage you’re not in shape. But for the average person running up a big staircase and not being out of breath could also mean you’re in shape. Being in shape shouldn’t be aesthetics, it should be how you feel physically.

Bottom line is you can give the advice, give them your attention and and time but all boils down to the saying “you can’t help someone who doesn’t want to help themselves “ and that’s in every individual in a deeper passionate/drive type of way! So what all you coaches with this much drive are already doin more than necessary and it’s awesome but comes down to the person listening to the information.

Teaching people about natural body building. And you haven't done that. Natural bodybuilding. Is a lifetime of effort. To look in your 40s of how you wanted to look in your 20s.a life of total commitment diet trial and error. To gain some years later years 2lb of muscle a year. Did you go through that grind Mike. This is why you don't connect with younger people. When you're preaching natural. Because you missed a massive segment of it out you didn't experience it. I notice also you always think before you speak. And that's so you don't slip up. How can you give sound advice if your mind his preoccupied with other shite. How hard is it to get someone on here who's responsible. To actually tell youngsters the truth. What you do is your business. But unless it's not 100 percent realistic and the truth. Keep it to yourself. Don't put it out there. And misinform. Your experiences lifestyle. As all been based around. You choosing to run your own body. Then say people want it today of course they do like you did.
