I know this may or may not be true, but I heard that genetics play a big role in bodybuilding and muscle growth too. I've been ripped but barely have any back or chest muscle and I'm only all core, triceps skinny biceps not wide or firm, and a whole lotta quads. Any advice for getting rock hard muscles, and biceps that have some width to them?

@@user-qr1qh5pj5i I've been weight lifting 22 years. For the first twelve years I never dieted correctly, and rarely took any protein supplements. I had guys ask me many times, or implied I was using steriods when I had never touched them. I now occasionally use testosterone injections but that's because a blood test confirmed my natural level was too low. However, I was able to raise my natural level to a normal level by taking a daily multivitamin and cleaning up my diet some.

@@dukelps9132 what type of vitamins do you take? Give me a brand
@dukelps91324 жыл бұрын
@@spiraldynamics6008 just regular off the sheft from Wal Mart Centrum or either the Men's One-a-Day. I take one every night before bed. Vitamins build up in your body very gradual. It may take several months. I've also noticed other benefits other than a testosterone increase. Like my skin used to get really dry and itch badly in the cooler months. That problem decreased drastically. I also don't get colds as often and when I do, they don't last as long. Don't misunderstand me. Taking vitamins everyday is not going to boost your testosterone to abnormally high levels like the bodybuilders use, but it probably will give most people a slight boost.

I've always been an advocate of the old school style of training. Big compound movements to build strength. Use that strength to progressively overload my isolation exercises as well. 80-90 percent of my training is free weight old school exercises. Build the foundation, then if u need fine tuning for let's say better bicep peaks, then throw in something specific for that. But ya can't go wrong with compound free weight exercises. Add in super-sets, drop sets, negatives, and cheat reps/sets as u get more experienced.

Also jean piere who is a buddy of mine told me back in the days to take a day off before and after arm day to give them adequate rest. I think that bit of information was the best information I’ve gotten for doing biceps. Especially if u have biceps that do t respond well. A lot of the time the muscle is so small (EVEN IF YOU HAVE 21” arms) that they get over trained.
