You know, there's some truth to this. I had a bad experience in high school where I had a crush on a guy for a while and he found out himself. After that, I resolved to never again let another crush find out from others and to just tell then myself. I muddled through college with this ideology, taking it to a whole other extent, telling every single guy I thought was attractive so on their faces, making countless problems for myself what not. 😂 But you wanna know how it ended? It ended with me exiting college victorious with my degree, plus with my batch mates holding a viewpoint that I was fearless and go-getter, never afraid to speak up when I had to. Cause this whole asking ppl out out loud? It ended up translating to all the different aspects of my life too. I became louder and bolder in the classroom, in public space, never reluctant to call out bs when I saw it. And that equipped me better for adulthood than I think anything else possibly could've. Honestly, I only realised this as I wrote it. 😂 So go ahead lads and lasses. Ask out your crushes and stare your fears down. I'm living proof that it's worth it.

This is an important lesson that I learned earlier this year at 26. Anytime you get that uncomfortable, nervous feeling...Act upon that. When all the cells in your body are shaking and giving you a million reasons to NOT do that thing but you know you want to. If you do that enough times, your life will change in ways you never expect. It's strange, anytime I've ever done something uncomfortable, the universe has a way of rewarding you in unexpected ways. If you act upon that feeling, you elevate yourself from the crowd because you are willing to do things most people are afraid of doing. Taking risks, taking that chance. Literally the best decisions in my life have been the ones that I was most scared of doing. It only takes a few seconds of awkwardness but I'll take that over regret. Expand your comfort zone. Confront your fears directly. Scared of the dark? Scared of asking out that cute boy or girl? Afraid of walking into a gym? Learning how to drive? Whatever kind of fear you have. Start small and scale it up.

As a 50 yr old guy I'd like to give some advice to younger guys out there: That bit where Alex talks about summoning up the courage to ask his crush out, reminded me of myself, but here's the thing: Unless the girl also happens to have a massive secret crush on you, and is just waiting for you to ask her out, then if you make a big deal of it when you ask her, I mean if you actually say "will you go out with me?" like that, then more often than not you'll get rejected. Why? Because men are very romantic in our minds. We have a crush and we build it up and up and think it over until it becomes this great dream-like thing, and so asking her out becomes like this great heroic challenge. Women are romantic too of course, but not quite in the same way, or at least, not always so. What I'm trying to say is, try and keep the asking casual, if you can.

Yeah. I've seen that just trying to get a friend group together with that crush is best. You get to know them. Slowly shrink the amounts of freinds you invite and ask your crush one on one if they want to hang out. Just make it casual. If you make is romantic it is more likely to end up weird

She was so comprehensive, and said that it made her feel better about herself too, because she was feeling down. That there is no shame and that she was proud of me for asking, that it was really courageous. We're still good friends, and the last time I asked someone out, she said yes ! Three experiences to share: 1. The Monday after homecoming my freshman year of high school I asked the guy I went with about the possibility of us dating and he said he didn't think it was a good idea. (Knowing him better now than I did then, I know he sometimes freaks out and says the opposite of how he feels which is what happened that day.) About a month and a half later he asked me out and we dated for about 8 months. 2. I had a crush on my best friend during my sophomore/junior year of college. I was 99.999 etc. percent sure he didn't feel the same way, but I needed to hear him say it. I didn't ask him out, but I did talk to him about it. I was right, he didn't like me that way. But it was the first of many difficult and awkward conversations we've had that have made our friendship stronger. 3. My college boyfriend and I started dating because I asked him out. I remember debating with my self about whether or not to ask him. Ultimately, I realized there was absolutely nothing he could say that would be worse than the amount of anxiety I was feeling. I have to say I don't regret anything about those experiences or anything that happened because of them. My regrets come from the times I didn't ask someone out or tell them I had feelings for them. "What if..." can be one of the most painful questions to ask yourself.

@@riniedarryllan1846 omigoodness, I always thought flirting with the guy first would make you memorable, lol. --though this wasn't to me, I wanted to say try not to think that way about all guys as a whole. There are many jerks but also so many hidden gems and nice people. I've met one guy super nice and someone else a bit blunt and hurtful 🤷‍♀️ even though both turned me down ---With risks comes pain but in the end it gives you confidence and you won't overthink and regret never saying anything. -Lastly forget those girls and forget their judgement, I think a girl being bold and confessing or asking someone out is crazy awesome. And you're not easy, your inspiring because it's what many people in general are afraid to do 💗

Reading all these comments about rejection, I just wanna share my story on here too. This year was the first time I actually mustered up the courage to FINALLY ask out my crush. Walked up to him and just did it without worrying too much about what he would say. Asked out the guy I have been crushing on for a whole year,,, Let me tell you that was a major turning point in my life. because I would've never dreamed of doing something so scary. My heart was thumping louder than a marching drum the whole time we talked but I managed to keep a straight face and get through the whole conversation. I was SO DAMN PROUD of myself for doing that, I just patted myself on the back when I got home since then I have unlocked a new level of confidence I didn't know I was capable of and all my friends have noticed it too. I'm a whole new person now lmao And I know that is not the point of this video or my comment, but we celebrate our 4 month anniversary in two days. Best decision ever. 😋

Asked my friend (who I've known since we were kids) last weekend and found out that she was already seeing someone else. My advice to everyone: DON'T WAIT. Don't wait for the perfect conditions; assume they won't come. Being honest with someone won't mess up a friendship. The feeling of wondering "what if" later on will hurt more than anything else

I recently asked out my best friend and crush. I was convinced she was not interested AT ALL. But my friends kept telling me to do it. I waited 4 years and finally told her I liked her through Instagram DMs. The next day at school I found out that she likes me too. So that evening I asked her out using DMs again. It was awkward at first and we couldn't talk to each other about this in person for a week, but now, after 2 weeks, I'm happier than I've ever been. For the first time in my life, I was truly happy. No matter what u believe, just do it. We only have one life, and we should try to be as happy as possible in it. Take risks. Bonus points if you make others happy too. Hope I reached you. Have a nice day.🙂

But this video is 100% true, I feel a lot better getting it off my chest and also accepting rejection with open arms. Trust me, just do it. I couldn't help but clap and do the occasional WHOO every few min while watching this because I just resonated so much with what he had to say. Viewing fear as an opportunity to grow is such an awesome way to succeed, and I hope everyone can start doing it, even if it's just a bit more every day :)
