Your perfectly imperfect sketchbook is perfect! And I’m glad that it is more real than made up ones, where one only want to make every page perfect which is just not possible and I’ve learned that in my own sketchbook. Some pages are just not possible to be perfected, some mistakes has to happen to show how the real journey of an artist looks like! I saw all the pages, the moment I saw there is not perfection on every page, it made it more interesting and beautiful! 😃❤️👏👏👌👌

If I may make a suggestion. Why not take Some scraps of paper, draw on those, And paste them onto the back of each page in your sketchbook(s), so the book'll be "full"?
@selstrives
@selstrives 8 ай бұрын
It's perfect tbh. No need to make the sketchbook look "fuller". Either you draw back to back or one sided, as long as you draw on most of the pages then I'd consider it to be filled. Plus pasting papers just makes the sketchbook look too messy imo

i loved ur video..i usually dont like drawing in pen because i already find it hard enough to draw anything in my sketchbook cuz i want it to be perfect despite that being impossible but this was inspiring. im planning to study architecture in college as well, and i found ur videos really interesting and fun

Yeah, I found the trick is that once you ruin a couple drawings in your sketchbook the pressure starts to go away, I definitely know what you’re talking about though

I love drawing with graphite and charcoal....but I also really love ink!! I'm older and only began teaching myself several years ago...I also have that dang perfection issue :/ and, as you said, ink makes you works with what you've got and either make it work as part of your drawing or to just learn to love it...loving it no matter what ends up happening :) Your art is phenomenal!!!!!
@ChetSamuel.

Thank you, I might try to learn charcoal. It’s so unwieldy for me haha
@jadedenthusiasms

@Chet Samuel. yea, it's unwieldy for me too, that's part of the fun😁🤷🏼‍♀️get some big paper and a chunk of it and have at it!! I watch a guy.. I believe his channel is called Mad Charcoal but ill double check..he of course makes it look easy, same as you and your ink :) but watch his shorts where he seems to be making a mess, but suddenly you see the face pop to life! You'd do way better then me because you're already amazing at proportions. But I couldn't sleep because I had to try it once it saw it and I got the face I wanted and its wasn't awesome but it was FUN...messy :/ but fun!!! To do my darker piece...emotionally darker, not just charcoal dark... aahaha...I used a chunk to tone the paper and sketch out basics and charcoal pencils to get into the detail. It was fun!! But definitely not something to take with you on the go "/ I like to have a pencil with me with my sketchbook but since I also like to be able to use watercolor I use heavy paper and always have a fountain pen with waterproof ink to use. I'm loving the sort of crazy thin to fat lines you can get with a Fude nib. So thats what I always have with me when out. But you should definitely try charcoal. Big paper though cuz it's just what feels right for it and you can slide it all over to get a feel for it. And it'll erase too...at least it has for me....some spots might not come back to white but mostly I've had no issues. Just fun to play and learn, at least to me. I'm old but this is all new to me so I'm in love with all of it😁 Thanks again for all your hard work with these videos and the loads of works that goes with editing and getting them up here! I'll never get to that point especially now...but, even when i am not able to do any kind of art myself, I have all of you on here to watch and learn from to stay inspired and as positive as possible! So, I really appreciate it!! :)

Lots and lots and lots of practice. Besides that try to just absorb as much artwork as you can. Whether that’s from KZbin videos, photography, whatever inspires you. I can’t recommend James Gurney enough, that dude is a master of painting light. Good luck :)

I think micron pens, although I really prefer ballpoint so it may just be the typical Bic Pens. Good luck!

I love drawing with pen and ink, though usually in color. I keep eight fountain pens inked up, each with a different color of ink. I also use dip pens. But I also love drawing with graphite. You're obviously very, very good with pen and ink, but, frankly, the philosophy you spout about perfectionism, about honesty, about erasing the life from a drawing is pure, undiluted, pretentious BS. It's the kind of complete silliness that make artists seem like out of touch, stuffed shirt, laughable fakes. There's nothing wrong with erasing, and with far too many artists, particularly those who use ink, or some other non-erasable medium, not being able to erase is an act of cowardice concealed behind a thin veneer of philosophical BS. You write "honest" on a sticker, slap it on a drawing, and now you don't have to be perfect. In fact, you don't even have to be good. Mistakes here, mistakes there, but by God it's honest and expresses your feelings, unlike those slobs who dare to erase their drawing in order to make them better. Life stays in your art because you can't erase? Wow, do you live in a fantasy world built from ego, pretentiousness, and cowardice. You'll never be perfect. None of us are. But unless perfection is what you strive to achieve, you'll never be any good, either. Pen and ink do not give you and excuse not to strive for perfection. Instead of erasing, you will, if you actually want good art in every sense of the word, draw something as many times as necessary in order to get it right. You might, in fact, draw it first in graphite, erase the mistakes, rinse and repeate until it reaches something as close to perfection as you can achieve, and then draw it in ink. Perfectionism takes a long time, and isn't interesting? Ture, very true, if you're too cowardly to strive for it, and need an excuse not seem as cowardly, or just plain lazy, as you actually are.

Wow, this is such a ridiculously critical and negative comment. The fact that you would actually take the time to write a *5 paragraph* comment just to shit on the creator of this video says a lot about what kind of person you are.
