BMW's are the most reliable cars I've ever owned. Hands down. I've had an E34 1990 535i with 214k miles, E36 1993 325i 252k miles, E34 1995 525i 243k miles, E39 1997 528i 274k miles, E36 1997 M3 216k miles, E39 1998 528i 189k miles, E36 1998 M3 218k miles and an E83 2004 X3 3.0i currently at 157k miles. I will never own another vehicle. If you know how to turn a wrench and how to read a couple forums on what to look for etc, you can keep a BMW. I am 29 years physically handicapped and self taught and do all my own work. I also lived on very low income and I currently am min wage job and still own and maintain these cars, even with the high miles.. I deliver pizzas in my E83 lol A month ago I replaced the front cv axles myself, I currently have new rotors and pads I'm going to put on tomorrow on my day off, I put new fuel injectors in it a few months back, a couple years ago I replaced the whole ccv system, disa valve, oil filter housing gasket, intake manifold gasket, etc. back in Jan I replaced crankshaft position sensor. I've driven it over 40k miles since I got it.

What are some of your favorite BMW power plants and what motors do you suggest then why? If you dont have a video on it maybe this question can make on and possible help go the channel. Side question, What county are you in NC? BMW wants people who love the car like a child or wife / girlfriend-boyfriend or hubby. I find that 100,000 miles have more maintenance items coming up bit this means a good deal can be made (2g-4g under retail) and then you know who put the parts on and what parts to use. The BMW with 125,000 have many of BMW maintenance plans 95%-100% complete and could be a better choice for some. Vechilar DIY for BMW shows you and N54 with 200,000 miles running as well if not better then may I see both many N54 engines 70,000-89,000 that needed a lot but manageable task like oil housing gasket and valve cover gasket on many with this mileage and it side of that plugs and coils. I hear the N52 was pretty good bit I have no experience with them. The mid 2000's cars have almost too much tech and I personally would not want anything more, no headunit display, sensors all over the car, adaptive headlights with self leveling is just another fail point and to come back to the adaptive headlights heavy rains or the dummies going to the non self car wash will fry those modules under the headlight adaptive ability.

The new 3 series sedans are to large for my personal liking and I would go buy an E39 non M because that it one solid car with enough power (also can be tuned up a bit) plus the handling is on point. I would like a E46 on day but I am likely going to put m54 2.3l in my 93 E36 coupe.
