I can’t make out her name😢. Then it clicked! When living in Scotland as a child ( my dad was in the USN and stationed there for 2 years) a classmate had the name Eithne. Which was an Irish, Scottish and Gaelic name. In English it became Etha. My classmate pronounced her name, even though it has an odd, to us, spelling Etha. Only recently my crazy, very talkative, young black headed male has stopped asking to be fed! He’s 3 months older than Knute! I believe they ask because it’s satisfies an emotional need. I would never say, “you’re weaned. I’m not feeding you”. I still, occasionally, offer all of my birds treats from a spoon. I feel like it encourages closeness.💕

Yes! It’s all about having the bird feel like we are there for them :) - especially because “weaned” just doesn’t mean we shouldn’t feed- and I worry that some babies aren’t really weaned or regress because they weren’t really ready. In this case, Eta is like Etha- when I was just a couple years old, I couldn’t say “Margarita” and I just said “Ita.” Maybe her name should be spelled with an I, like Ita. :)

I think when baby Golden gets here I will feed them all. I never thought to do. I think its an excellent idea for them and for bonding. Thank you 😊
