My Duncan is 7 years old. Although we adore and love eachother and he cuddles me and protects me... him and my husband are true soul mates. They fell in love the second they laid eyes on eachother. It was the sweetest thing I have ever seen. I truly fear the day they must part.

My family has had 4 Scotties and they were just so awesome. They are loyal and protective. They tend to pick one person in their pack as the alpha and that's who they'll obey. Other than that, it's like you said, they are the king. One that I had loved a female friend of mine (marrried to someone else) and when they moved away and didn't come back for a good while, apparrently he felt she wasn't part of the pack anymore and bit her when she tried to love on him.

Nice Scotties. Only thing that bugs me is that bushy tail. They are supposed to be like an upside-down carrot. To each their own. I would also be a little careful around young kids. Sometimes kids can get a little ruff and some Scotties might bite in that situation. I have been owned by six Scotties.😀

Hi L F. The best is to ask around. Check classifieds. Ask local vet if the know of anyone with scotties terriers as the usually have good relationships with breeders

My Scottie snaps and snarls at children and any other dogs that are not elderly and very slow and extremely calm. I only have the extreme pleasure of owning my Scottie because he was not conducive to a family environment. Scottish terriers not good family dogs and I think that people should know that. This video and all the people commenting are lying! Do not get a Scottish Terriar if you want to start a young family and have a sociable dog to meet new people. The Scottish Terriar is the last dog that you want! This video is a lie! Cute is not a reason to get a dog. Don’t get a Scottie.
