quest helper just makes it easier for peopel that did the quests already to get through them faster. Its not like it would be a huge deal just usinga vidoe on the side? just makes it slightly easier.... noob pvmers need their cheat clients to do anything.

You calling them noob pvmers is half the problem, people feel obligated to use plugins because otherwise they get flamed by sweatlords who haven't taken a breath of fresh air in 6 months (and also use cheat clients themselves).

people just refuse to understand that, a lot of the cool and amazing plugins that runelite has nowadays was adapted from openosrs where did you think you got ur resource pack plugin from ? runelite definitely didn't figure that one out left click options used to be a thing that openosrs had and was bannable, now it's all publicly available for runelite morphing urself into a character of your own choosing used to be a banned thing, until it was brought onto the plugin hub, which apparently became something that many people really liked. there are so many examples of this stuff happening. all of these ideas that openosrs had thought of themselves were ideas that were considered banned, got stolen by runelite and other people and now put back into their own clients, which are now allowed and normalized. it's honestly super weird. openosrs tried to make itself into a safe, compliant client that would get approved by jagex. jagex just hated them and refused to acknowledge them. now they're making it illegal.

Yea, I can agree. Jagex does have final say and I'm okay with it, not using clients that arent allowed is just good practice. We pay, we gay and all that is more an argument to allow us to strip down the game to become trivial. We shouldn't push this too far is all I would say. Anything QoL mentioned in this video should obviously be allowed.

Some of these things should just be in the base game. I don't see why you'd ever want to interact with a dying enemy. I'm sure most of the player base looks back fondly at when the game used to be an ultra-inconvenient grind, I mean I used to run law runes after school and blow my money in fally or varrock. But the game is different now and so is player focus. There's more late game PvM focus due to more useful content being released. Nothing wrong with addressing reality and removing some of the pointless frustrations.

I wont lie, as someone who has only been playing a year I looked into stuff like the cox helper plugin and the vorkath helper plugin and tried them out and honestly I don’t think I would have learned those bosses as fast without those helpers. It taught me what to look for during certain attacks for both and I learned how to woox walk with any range weapon that doesn’t have too long a range at vorkath in under 50kc and its to a point where I use both bosses to get some quick gp to do whatever I feel like next

I do like the entity hider extended, however… Pushing the limits with some of the others. I don’t have massive amounts of time to play either, but I figure out the bosses, quests & puzzles myself & really enjoy it. Guides should be enough if you need help; why even play if something is telling you exactly what to do? That’s like buying a new game then beating it watching a play through… Great video though, very informative! I hope to see you get more publicity :)

I'd support counting specs, removal of death animations, and texture removal (not every single object removal, since that could potentially let you click through things you otherwise might not be able to). But I'm also of the opinion that quest helper is overpowered and have never used it on the first playthrough of a quest.

Quest helper really isn't that powerful, it's basically just the wiki page built in to your client. The only way it provides an advantage over the wiki is that is has tile markers, but the wiki has screenshots of locations you need to go to anyway so it's basically the same

I play WOW and OSRS. Wow has add-ons that would be the equivalent to plug-ins. These add-ons pretty much tell you what to do when do it for every boss encounter and it doesn't devalue anything. I'm all for letting players play the game how they WANT. Socket is great plug in along with custom menu swapper. Should already be in the base game. Would make pvming so much cooler and much more engaging.

I've used cheat clients for years (mainly for most of the things shown in this video) and can agree. tbh os is *incredibly* boring using RL or vanilla client. I'll continue to use cheat clients as long as I play.

One thing I just don’t get is using these plugins don’t harm other players yet people have issues with it. People just downright find a reason to be angry at anything nowadays. These plugins only effect what you see on your screen and in no way do they effect other players, even the most ridiculous ones like guitar hero jad do not effect other players, sure in ways it makes the game easier but who cares if someone made the game easier for themselves? They didn’t see legitimize anything you did, they didn’t harm you, they aren’t botting, they aren’t scamming you, they little effect you in no way. Yet people still find a reason to hate people using these plugins, personally I use runelite but I have little 0 bad feelings towards you people who use openosrs or other banned clients here because that is how you want to play and have fun.

Again that doesnt effect you, thats more a self esteem issue of said person anyways. Also cheat client capes are more legitimate than bought capes anyways cause you still atleast have to understand and do the content to do it on a cheat client. Yet for some reason this is worse than just paying someone to do it for you? probably because jagex takes a cut from inferno sellers to allow them to keep doing business while cheat clients just straight up take traffic from jagex's clients. Remember when Jagex treated Runelite the same way or swiftswitch? its ridiculous, jagex doesnt care about game integrity, if they cared about game integrity theyed allow people to use any client they want.

As an avid speed runner, I’m definitely of the thought that “cheat clients” are over hyped and made out to be worse than they are. The client itself won’t get you a sub 12:30 tob time, the player has to be mechanically good and consistent enough to execute. Everyone whining about sote maze this and tick counter that bleeds more ticks per raid than a hemophiliac finding a hay in a needle stack.

@@LYDN26 I would disagree with this. Jagex seems to hate tick counters on bosses for some reason. On base RL you can put a tick counter on bloat through the idle NPC plug-in but this is going to be removed from what I hear. Or another example is how jagex will not allow tick counters on nylos; this helps with waves bc you can let high tick ones auto pop. These plugins are more for convenience and optimizing the rooms more than just cheating. The bloat timer gives you useful information on what to do to maximize dps; e.g if swinging on a tick 8 you double chally for dps, but if on 7 you only chally once. The nylo tick timer is self explanatory.

Aizya even tweeted, “tob teams shaking rn” but i guarentee I can tob better off client than he could on a client; case and point, I have multiple solo tob kc on base RL. The sheep brained community mindset that max eff tob players can’t play without a client is frustrating to me. I feel that people don’t understand the situation.

Thank you for this video as a redditor who died 12 times to jad, the mega zulrah plugin rly helps me switch and position and know what to pray It's absurd that Jagex expects end game skill for a boss that's only 2m/hr not to mention they FORCE you to kill zulrah for the elite void and vorkath not once but 50 times for the assembler After I installed openosrs I finally managed to get the elite void set and the assembler and I can now learn solo chambers hopefully with the cox helper Cheers man you rly helped me

One thing I will say is that I was surprised that so many high end pvmers used these clients. Now idk to what extent because using the client doesnt mean your using every broken plug in. But I will say that by putting a choke hold on some quality of life plug ins that do no harm to the game will just leave ppl feeling micro managed in their play style. No 1 likes a back seat gamer. Especially if it's a gaming company telling you how exactly to play their game... or else...

Yeah I remember cheat clients having the remove death animations like 5 years ago. And JUST NOW it's being implemented into the game. Jagex is almost embarrassed to admit they dont have the innovative mindset some of these coders do and it shows. Like. They have been putting so much effort into making their own client in Hopes to eventually even making runelite something that isn't needed. Its almost petty . Theres a huge difference between guitar hero jad and killing ur 2 thousandth maiden and still needing to right click the crabs as they dramatically dissipate into the air.

Quest helper telling you where to stand for a level 63 NPC in a quest who has 0 mechanics is vastly different than a raid plugin that would do the same (if allowed). Now if you wanted a little bit of extra fluff like the defense stuff I can agree that is useful and should be added. I just dont think the comparison to quest helper is really fair.

Every drop brought into game at a faster rate due to handholding plugins effect every other identical item in existence. People who do speedruns are constantly resetting and not even completing raids half the time making it slower. and if you look at runelite currently pretty much everything besides a tick counters and inferno guitar hero was brought over to runelite. Tick counters dont help speed up raids and inferno doesnt bring gp into the game, idc how people get inferno capes, if someone got an inferno cape in a way that makes some people unhappy than thats thier problem, i remember when tob released people wanted everyone who used justi in inferno to get thier capes taken away. There is always someone who will view the way you got ur cape as illegitimate. None of these plugins allow you to do a raid faster, they just allow you to do it without thinking. no matter what plugins you have your going to have to think and not rely on plugins to perform speedrun strats in raids or gauntlet. so again tell me exactly how these plugins effect other people and before you reply be smart enough to understand most of these plugins are on runelite now which you probably didnt know.

@@xsomewhattoxic Know what else affects the overall playerbase? Botting. I couldnt care less if someone is playing with less clicks to do things, they're still playing. Jagex need to focus on making botting less profitable by any means necessary. Just look at that youtuber that hunts farms around, dude busts out trillions of GP in a year. And he's only ONE guy. Imagine if JAGEX had a small team of GMs that actually went around with developer tools and relayed information to a dedicated bot busting developer. Hell, I know people that would do that for minimal pay (me being from a third world country would sure jump in to that opportunity) . Cracking down on botting is 10 times more important to do than banning people's account because they got some fire or inferno cape while using some plugin that helps them do that, they still need to be playing and arent generating trillions of in-game currency every month that deflate prices of otherwise important items. There were multiple accounts with 10.000 CG KC in the high scores some time ago. If you were to get 10.000 KC while using these plugins, it would still take a real player to be sitting on their character actively playing the game for weeks or even months. With botting, everything is automated. If we are here to preserve game integrity, CRACKDOWN ON BOTTING!

Is having a visual aid to see something like what attack # the boss is on or the ticks of a monster really game breaking that you think its not playing the game? When a grind is 1000 hours long and it comes down to repetition, its nice to have a visual aid for you to know what phase or attack you are on when learning, I did my CG, Phosani, TOB, and hydra grind using openosrs and I still can still do these bosses on runelite, it just takes a bit more focus and less autism to do so, thus turning a chill grind into a 1000 hour burnout fest. BTW wow has these type addons called weak auras and DBM which are insanely overpowered compared to this stuff. And it doesnt devalue the content at all. I say this as a top 50 world player in wow that this stuff he is talking about is less overpowered than 1 tick pray flicking and tick eating which are basically bugs.
