My appreciation for sanding went up enormously since buying a festool sander with appropriate dust extraction. Note that sanding is a relatively new phenomenon. Back in the old days sanding was exlusively for roughing thing up. Smoothing was always done by planing or scraping. I love my modern sanding technology though.

If your next video is about how relaxing it is to watch paint dry, I'll fly over the pond, drive on the "Wrong" side of the road just to give you a Wack across the shin with my cane! 😜 Seriously, I'll be dammed if this video doesn't make me want to go sand something. 🤦‍♂️ I don't know how you do it, but you certainly know how to convey your passion through your videos. They are always excellent. 😎 I love my ETS EC 125 (corded), and I have an ETSC 125 (Cordless). I just wish Festool would make an ETS-EC-125 Cordless. Either way, Festool's impact on how I sand has been so enormous, that it has changed how I view sanding forever.

I always find sanding quite meditating. Yes upgrading to a Mirka helps, but as you said: you spend tons of time building something, now it is time to say goodby. After all the beating mit Chisels and hammers, cuting, routing a last gently strokes with the sander and close after with the brush and then let the baby go out in the world. What to hate about that.
