Also notice that your air dry your hair. Is there a reason you air dried over using hot air. My fear was that by not using a blow dryer that I was running the risk of causing dread rot or forming mold. Because moisture would have been locked into my strands.

Try this. Put shampoo on the scalp and massage slightly. Then put on a stocking cap. Let stand for 1-2 hours to give shampoo time to dissolve oils and dirt. Rinse hair with stocking cap on. Remove stocking cap for final gentle rinse if all shampoo has not rinsed out. This method allows hair to remain relatively undisturbed during washing process.

Never a beanie, that’ll damage your hair. You want satin or silk textures against your strands to reduce breakage. That includes wraps, pillowcases, headrest covers. I assumed wool like beanies, those are a no. Satin beanie, yes.
