great video. I agree with you. And as a guy who has driven "real" cars on "real" tracks I will back you up that the skill level needed to be good is close. Unfortunately, I think part of the bad rap that online gets is when people drive like it is a "video game" and do the usual things that people complain about in online races...dive bombing, crashing, vengeance driving, and simply resetting and going again after ruining someone else's drive. I also believe that if you remove all of the "assistance" given to controller drivers and segregate your argument to rig drivers, you have a better chance of convincing others. There is no doubt that controller drivers have some assistance advantage over those driving on a wheel & pedals (rig) per se. I get that not everyone can afford a rig, so it's a hard comparison sometimes when speaking of the types of rigs that the professional drivers you mention have. But there is no doubt, that to be competitive in an ongoing series while driving a rig online has a set of needed skills very similar to driving a "real" car on a "real" track. I know, I know, I used one of the "do not use" words. ;-)

Interesting stuff, yes. Perhaps we need a better limitation on 🎮 being OP. I'd kind of assumed though it's more about no-assists? 🎮 Without assists is slower/harder, no?

@@webbored5 I'm not sure about all the details of the assist. Here's what I do know and have experienced personally...if on a controller you lose control of your car, you can release all buttons and your car will recover. On a rig (wheel/pedals/etc) this is not there. you lose control you are left to recover on your own. Huge differences and possible advantages to controller drivers to push the limits on track.

@jda407 i see, yeah. For the most part controller inputs are 1-way in that sense
