i still dont understand what the different springs do, i presume the stronger ones close the wastegate quicker or stop it opening on higher boost?

Hello! Actuators regulate boost pressure, the stronger the spring the higher the pressure is regulated to - with a stronger spring fitted more pressure is required to lift the actuator piston off its seat, delaying the opening of the wastegate and allowing more boost pressure to build in the system before pressure is bled off via the wastegate. for Opel corsa e 1.4 turbo, there is 2 choices so what is the difference between piston and diaphragm ?

Hi Paul, From a performance perspective It is difficult for us to recommend one type over the other as their performance is very much the same. There is a school of thought that suggests the diaphragm type is quicker to respond, but from our perspective the difference is negligible. We do have reports of the piston type sticking in sub-zero temperatures and this seems to only occur on start-up but is apparently quickly overcome by rising vacuum pressure/turbo heat. We have little information on this “problem” as the reports are few, suggesting it is not a common occurrence. i've shortened my oe actuator arm by 3 mm ( 3 full turns or 6 half turns)on my fiat punto evo ( from the neutral position i guess you can say , right ? ). is this bad for the turbo/engine ? thanks

Good video. I have a video-producing tip tho; try and get some with audio knowledge to set up your recording. When cutting the video, the levels are very different (and clipping here and there). I know you are a car tech company, but I think you'll be seen more as the professionals you are if the video is more up to par. It's not to complain, just a friendly suggestion. Yes you can typically upgrade the majority of Turbo Actuators! I believe we already do an upgrade for this platform too, it can be found on the Forge Motorsport website under the part number - FMACHTV

Soooooo this actuator is ONLY good for maximum 20psi ???? My oem actuator allows 30psi , so I just DOWNGRADED and wasted my money on yet another junk forge product...ugh
