My newborn was given ready to feed at birth due to emergency surgery and we had switched him at about 3 weeks and he didn't have that at all. He couldn't use the bathroom for a week. And would cry and cry. We switched him to another one ready to feed he got a rash so we went to another city and we found his original formula in ready to feed. But now he's almost 3 months and we are starting him on the same formula but powered form since its super easy to find due to ready to feed being more hard to find not to mention more $ . It's very hard going places with ready to feed since you have to keep it cold and use within 2 days. First time mom and found your videos very informative love them

My baby suffers from milk eczema, and her pediatrician recommended I use a hypoallergenic formula. I was giving her Baby's Only whey and dairy, but all pediatricians freaked out when they found out its a toddler formula! I wish that there was an organic hypoallergenic formula free of corn, soy, DHA/ARA derived from fungi, and carrageenan. 😪

I’ve spent a ridiculous amount of money trying to find a formula that suits my 1 month old. It literally was not until today that I realized all the formulas she has ever had issues with seems to be any kind of powdered formula. So far the only thing I have found that works is nutramigen hypoallergenic ready made bottles. The nutramigen powder version upsets her tummy too much 😔

This is going to sound crazy but for Similac Alimentum, ready to feed is cheaper per oz than powder. A 12.1oz can comes in at 32 cents an oz whereas a 32oz bottle of ready to feed comes in at 30 cents an oz!

Beckah M wooow thank you for this. My wife and I just switched our baby to Alimentum and weren’t sure which is cheaper. This just sealed it. That plus the fact no corn in the ready to feed is huge

My baby just doesnt drink powder he crys and crys he has tried all of them since he was born , he is 3 months now . He is on alimentum rtf he is doing better ... any recomendations ?

No I found out that the pawde is connected corn and the liqud is not.

Ingredients arent the same between rtf and powder. Some babies cant deal with corn syrup solids.

Can I do this for alimentum? My kid is not sensitive to corn just milk proteins. We are using the ready to feed and I got powder. He out right refused it and i was stranded at 3am in the morning during a quarantine with only a soy option that thank god he took. I am unable to return my alimentum powder formula. I read in a post that a pediatrician suggested adding maybe a tad bit sugar to the formula with maybe alcohol free vanilla. What are your thoughts on that? To add I am also mixing my breastmilk to it and I noticed that there was a separation like white up top and watery liquid on the bottom

My baby has been taking bottled breast milk. I have a hard time producing and I was encouraged to mix breast milk with formula to introduce it to him. How ever I’ve tried so many formulas and he doesn’t even try and when he takes couple sips he projectile vomits and continues to vomit after every feeding for the rest of the day even when I’m only giving him the breast milk. And it’s such a waste. Do you think ready to feed formula might work?

Hey I don't want to answer for her cause I'm no expert at all but my baby had the same experience (not so much vomiting just a bit) and he just started to take the ready to feed (I have to insist 2 or 3 times all in less than a minute) but he actually takes it I try doing one breast milk bottle and the next feed one ready to use until he starts to take all ready to use after he is on the ready to use I'll try again with formula (the same way or similar introduction) since I have a hard time trying to get him to take the formula and it make him gag and vomit a little. On a group I'm in someone shared this idea with me they also recommend the Enfamil neuropro ready to feed, something about it being more similar to breast milk not sure if it's true I hate milk so refuse to try it anyway hope this helps and that your baby tolerates this

I have a question! It off topic with this but I am about to start solids when my son is 5months old & I am wondering.... How many solid meals should he eat? & when he is introduced to more than one food how should i rotate it? Thanks!

Hi! At 5 months old, you only want to introduce one food at a time and give at least 5 days between new foods. So in the beginning, the volume of solid food is not that great and will naturally increase as your baby eats more. Follow his cues about when he seems full. My 4 month old reacted to ready feed ( face rash) and did better on the powder. I cannot figure out what is in the ready feed that would make her react. She has slight CMPA and has been bummped up to Amino acid formula.

Hi Gemini, Check the ingredients. Most ready to feed has carrageenan but the powder will not. That may be it. But it could be any ingredient in the formula that differs. Babies can be sensitive to anything (just like adults). If she does better on the powder, stick with the powder! :)

Hey there! First time mom here. I came across your vids and find them to be VERY informative. I’m a vegan... do you have any suggestions on any herbal supplements I can take that will increase breast milk that actually work?

Hey lady, I would reach out to a local lactation practitioner. There are lots of herbal supplements out there and some work well for some moms but not for others. The best thing to do to increase milk supply is add stimulation, so if you can add a pumping session, that would help (I know that is A LOT to ask of a new Mom). Also, as a vegan, be sure you are getting enough calories, protein, and taking a quality B-12 supplement. Breastfeeding Mamas need LOTS of quality nutrition. It may be worth setting up an appointment with a lactation professional or dietitian who can help you be sure your diet is getting you (and your milk supply) everything you need and talk about herbs that may be helpful.

Does the gas from the probiotic settles eventually? Baby has been on powder for about 3.5 weeks and has been more gassy than on the ready to feed. He’s on hypoallergenic formula and what we’re using doesn’t have ready to feed.

His microbiome should eventually adjust. Sometimes those hypoallergenics take a lot of shaking to get the formula into solution. If there is a lot of air bubbles in the formula, that may be contributing. You can also try making your formula ahead of time and allowing the foam to settle in the fridge, or adding gas drops directly to the bottle if you don't have time to make it ahead of time. You'll see the gas drops work to eliminate the foam. I hope that helps a bit!

i have read your blog and according to you it states that the FDA has strict regulations with those who produce formula. It is my understanding that the FDA doe not have any regulations with fluoride in baby formula. Because of the chemical compound of fluoride, it is unknown to how it affects brains . I speculate that the rise in serve autism is because of the fluoride in baby formula. It is obviously unsafe to consume because kids are instructed not to swallow fluoride when brushing their teeth. Why haven't you disclosed that in your blogs?
