Talking more to my friends and doing more sports, it's helping me LOTS with the shyness, anxiety and lot of stuff, and in compensation I'm usually way happier and it makes me better on the games I like and more focused, it's a win-win
@NarcSurvivor6 ай бұрын
Your bad habits keep winning because you’re seeking an escape from the current reality. You’re trying to numb the pain by disconnecting from your emotions. Instead, you need to go within and accept how you feel.
@Sparkkitty6 ай бұрын
That's exactly why I return to procrastination and extra sleep or even eating a treat
@heyyy13256 ай бұрын
True. But, how do I deal with how I feel? I tried, but when I "go within", I feel like I only feel even worse and I feel like maybe I feel bad because I overthink or overly focus on the negativity of how I feel, or even maybe I create my problems in my head, maybe its just all in my head. Maybe im just too self absorbed, idk. Thats what it feels like because every time ive tried to face my feelings and do "inner work", I find no solution, I find no answer, the feeling doesnt go away. But also when i try to just focus on the positive and not address my feelings I feel even worse. Anxiety sucks and it feels terrible. I'm sorry for oversharing dear stranger, you don't have to answer my question if u dont want to... I'm just confused and I don't know what to do.

The one thing that helped me most with kicking these habits is the phrase 'Resistance is my compass' - your brain tricks you by suggesting you avoid a task and do something more short term fulfilling, however if you use it as your guide of what to do next you can actually kick these bad habits. Plus there's research that shows this resistance is just your norepinephrine system kicking in before you start. I hope this helps you random comment reader! Happy bad habit kicking :)

I find no real satisfaction or much pleasure when doing these habits, and I don’t really know why I do them, this is literally my daily routine, is this something serious or am I just lazy?

@PancakeRights6 ай бұрын
I think that not all bad habits may be technically bad just be happy and don't hurt other people. You can set timers and I think certain bad habits are worse like cigarettes and drugs and alcohol but not necessarily sleeping late it depends on your routine and you should indulge yourself once in a while. See a therapist make a timetable and take care of hygiene. Do your tasks first then enjoy thats my advice remind yourself that you deserve mental health support and your life is your own.

Hey I want to ask how to deal with unfairness. In my case I see a group of people that are supposed to follow the same rule as us, and even if they are supposed to follow the same they can be the exception of the rule and it creates such a rage of injustice that I want to take action into my own hands. Do you have any tips?

I find reducing them over time (1-2 weeks) makes it much easier to make new habits. Instead of trying to go to sleep by 10, try to go to sleep 1 hr before your regular timing, then 1 hr, then 1 hr and so on. Also pause if you feel you can't do it. If you find that you still have a lot to do at 11, and therefore can't sleep at 10, then just pause for a while and figure out a solution for it.
