I really liked the first one more because it reminded me of traditional Xieyi style paintings from China.
@komogu_40 минут бұрын
I can definately see it. I think its because of the limited palette and the contrast of the colours.

This video should’ve been out years ago when I was starting to study color so I don’t have to draw like 50+ color wheel to understand colors
@komogu_7 күн бұрын
Hopefully you still found the video useful!
@9min_min66 күн бұрын
@@komogu_ still very useful just wanna say that this is good it help me understand some parts easier as a self taught artist :’> it’s just that learning all these without drawing and studying off like 50+ color wheels is something I can’t comprehend yet ;-; but overall everything in the video is super good and helpful to those who wanna study colors I’m not that good at colors but most of thr informations in the video matched what I’ve been studying so far so it’s good I also learn some more stuffs about colors in this video this actually make me wanna continue study colors again to find out more stuffs that I’ve left out :’> ngl if I haven’t seen this video I’d still trying to study fabrics something that always make my life hard when drawing :’)) now I got something else to study while figuring out how fabrics work without getting bored and dropped mid way

I can tell just by looking at the thumbnail that there's no color in the piece. I see a bunch of white and white is not a color. The thumbnail also has very low contrast wich makes everything look the same. You want contrast of Hue and Contrast of Value. You wanna learn how to color talk to professional model painters because that's basically all we do with our plastic. I recommend Sergio Calvo minatures because his models look like 2d illustrations in real life.
@komogu_23 минут бұрын
I'll look into Sergio Calvo. There is always something to learn from other artists even if the medium is different.

yo udon't need any of that knowledge. just draw the colors that you feel like. I know some artists that just do that and are "anylyzed" here with "this artist uses opposite colors on the color wheel blabla value and hue blabla while the artist put a statement with: lol people put way more interpretation in my things than I do I just draw colors that I want. art channel 1: this artist draws so good because of the super pale colors they use art channel 2: don't do this art mistake and don't use super pale colors it will be boring and most of these channels don't even show proper artwork but only traced / copied "studies" because they brag with all the technical knowledge but they can't draw anything in practical spot. no color knowledge or shading knowledge will help you if you lack creativity and you can't draw a simple flower without a reference.
@komogu_7 күн бұрын
I've always believed that art is a mix of both the practical and the technical. People that pick colours intuitively do so because they already have the knowledge based on their own experience, but that doesn't mean that learning it is useless. Learning the knowledge will build on what you already know, and enhace it even more.
@deero30087 күн бұрын
am i the only one confused by the start like, the first version looks way better for me?
@komogu_7 күн бұрын
Those were actually the original colours for the illustration! I liked both versions, but went for the second one in the end. This is the hardest part of choosing colours for me because I can never tell which colours people would generally prefer. 3:33 is a good example of this, I think all of the colours look good, but don't know which one would be the best. All I can do is choose the one that is the most appealing to me.
