As a Flamboyant Gamine I prefer longer hair, I think the round bluntness of my face doesn't handle pixie cuts nor very short hairstyles too well. I look great in wavy hairstyles or looser curls, so movement in my hair is great as well as straighter hairstyles with slight curls at the ends. I do lean towards more bluntness in my frame (slight sharpness in the limbs) so natural styles tend to work for me.

I think I’m a theatrical romantic, theatrical coming mostly from my face features. I do like longer somewhat wavy and unruly hair on me, but my signature addition is a very short blunt bang. Maybe not an ideal for my lines in theory but it’s quite fun and different in my opinion.

Possible FG here and definitely agree with the rec's for that type. Before I cut off all my hair into what's essentially a tousled pixie cut, I had thick, shoulder- to mid-back-length, wavy-curly hair. Cutting it off was a life-changer, not just because it was less hot(!) but because it looked and felt more "me."

As long as your hair is smooth and rounded, you're pretty much there! If you like bangs, opt for wispy ones, because thick ones may make your face wider than it actually is. As for length, it depends on your proportions: Emilia Clarke rocks long hairstyles, Madonna (80s-90s) rocked very short curly styles. It's up to your personal preference, but if you want hair inspiration, try have a look at Kibbe-verified celebrities in their daily lives and also on the red carpet (where they most often experiment) and see what suits your fancy and overall structure.

As an FN, I never saw this more clearly than when I did a halle berry cosplay and put her picture and mine side by side. I had a short pixie cut like hers, and while on her, the hair looked seamless, on me, it looked really intense. I actually liked the look because it made me look like a bit like an Amazon because it reallyyyyy brought out the shoulders. And definitely androgynous because my slightly wider jawline looked more prominent in that cut. But it wasn’t nearly as seamless on me as it was on her. On me it stood out as a choice and a bit of a costume. On the other hand, big wild unruly hair is 100% the most seamless on me. I love learning this stuff!

So as a Flamboyant Natural, I have naturally very thin, flat hair, I have always wanted some volume in my hair but it would just never work. That is too bad because I would really like to be able to have wild hair as it suits me better. I have tried every thing, every haircut, every hair hack. Here is what I have found : Long, even hair, as popular as it is, is a no-no. But mullets, as old-fashioned it is, are currently the best option for me. Pixies are ok but I have to work around to make the volume on the top apparent. Ponytails look good if I roll my hair on the top as a bonus. The key, no matter the hair length, is volume on the top.

I think I might be a flamboyant natural, but I have a hard time letting my hair go wild because I am a perfectionist with my hair most of the time. Also, my hair is long and is a weird in-between of wavy and straight and I never know what it's going to be like the next day. So I don't really know how to style it wildly without just looking like lumpy bedhead that's kinda straight with some weird waves scattered here and there. I do have some times where I get some really nice natural looking curls for a few hours but they often loosen a lot by the end of the day and don't look great anymore. I love it the way it looks at first though:) In short, I don't know what to do with my hair to make it look "wild" or free, but I do love experimenting with hair so I'm open to ideas! Also I'm not 100% sure I'm a flamboyant natural, so I'm a little worried there but oh well.

I’m pretty sure I’m a Romantic - the best description of all of my features is basically round, and my bone structure is short-limbed and hourglass-y, even though it’s hard to tell because I’m also very fat and carry my fat mostly in my belly, which tends to disrupt the hourglass and turn me into a pear, and I have to say, I think you’re right about the hair for me. I have had tight curls my whole life, and got compared to Shirley Temple almost constantly as a child, and since I’ve become an adult, the hairstyle I’ve chosen for myself is this asymmetrical semi-bob, with one side buzzed or shaved to the skin, and the rest of my hair brushed to the other side, which looks quite nice and, when I’ve let the hair grow to buzz-cut length on the short side, not really edgy at all.

And am a wash, brush and go kinda girl, so no matter how neat/ classic my clothes and makeup are, my less-than-perfect hair always makes me look slightly untidy 😵 ideally, a blow-dried soft layered look is great on me but i really cannot afford to be styling my hair for 20 mins each morning! I compromise by tying it in a sleek ponytail or bun...but while it does look neat, the look is too stiff to fully flatter my soft classic features...but i take that as the lesser of 2 evils - better look slightly severe and mature than homeless 😂 (especially working in a super professional environment)

Hello all! If any of you are Romantics/ Theatrical Romantics and don’t want to have the Marilyn Monroe hairstyle, I’d suggest that you look at Elizabeth Taylor’s hairstyles. She’s an identified Romantic and throughout her life, she experimented with different hairstyles, hair colors and cuts. I hope that my suggestion helps. Xo.

As an FN i am dying to know what do i do with my thin and straight hair?? Do i get a perm?? Haha, it's always been my insecurity, lately i've been cutting it short(chin lenght) to get that tiny bit if volume at least, long hair just looks sad in everyday life. Also my hair doesn't hold any styling + i have no time to dyson wrap it or sth everyday. I really wish i had thicker hair or at least a little wave in my hair...

I always had the same insecurity as a FN with thin hair (they also don't hold any styling). I have tried every hairstyle possible for me and I found out that, no matter the hair length, the key is trying to fabricate as much volume as possible on the top of your head. For example, if you have long hair, try going for a Pompadour hairstyle, secure the top of you hair with a hairband and 1 or 2 bobby pins. It goes very well with ponytails. For medium hair, bobs look great with bangs, especially if your bangs blend well with the reste of your hair (wild, uneven bangs). FN often have large heads or foreheads, that wear bangs very well. Pixie cuts work well if you ask your hairdress to keep volume on the top. Basically having a high contrasted pixie : for example if your hair is shaved near the ears but gradually longer near the top. I currently have a mullet and it suits me much better that plain long hair. Because I cannot make volume with my hair type, I made it through layering my hair cut.

SeaSaltFamily i feel youuu! Lil update: have straight hair with barrrrrely a wave in it that is pretty thin, but a lot of it. I also have pretty small facial features. I ended up with a short bob now, i use a nice wax/cream product in my hair 1-2 times a day so they at least have a tiny tiny bit of texture. Otherwise i look like a little child. And i end up having to make a lil bun from my hair toward the face and then once it's been up in a bun for a while, it has a shape for around 1-2 hours after i let it down 🫠 i feel you sis! What i found looks best is a good pair of sunglasses, a good thick linen shirt and a long timeless necklace.

This is interesting and I’m so grateful for your content. I have been trying to find someone talking about style and hair and how they’re linked. And it’s very informative. I just had a question. I hope i don’t sound silly. But what if your body is one type but your facial features and structures are a different type? Since embracing my natural curls I’m finding that not all clothes look good on me. (I have to keep it more “natural” but I enjoy dressing up. But when I had a sharp Bob I could get away with more. Argh, I’m so confused! Help lol but Thankyou for these videos!!!

I’d love to have enough hair to do most of these haircuts. Especially as a Natural. Any suggestions if you have fine straight hair? I can’t do wild, I really don’t want to do all the processes needed to attain that either, costly & damaging.

I would have loved a bit more options or explanation for romantics...

Can you be multiple types? I feel like I'm not fitting any of these types that well

A good hairstylist will never give you a cut that doesn't work for your face. But there are a lot of mediocre stylists out there who will - which is sad. I am not sure if you have a hairstylists co-op to go to but we have one here in Ottawa - no one is allowed to be part of the co-op unless they have been styling cutting and colouring for at least 10 years. They have talked me out of things that would have looked bad on me and explained why. Find a stylist who has been in the business a long time for results that won't make you cry.

Yes! It kills me the way people choose a hairstyle they like ON ANOTHER MODEL, and then wonder why it looks kind of funny on them, you know, just as an individual. Something else would suit them so well, and for a reason, lol.

Hi! I am getting a haircut next week and I am so stumped on this. I am a Soft Classic (by Kibbe's standards) with mostly ingenue and ethereal essence. I know you're supposed to have moderate length hair that is more set (not messy) and my hair is pin straight. Is there a hairstyle that speaks to classic/ethereal that isn't mermaid long waves? Maybe a straight style? Wispy?? I feel like the feathery wispy of the ethereal essence will clash with the set/neat look of my Classic overall vibe. How can honor the ethereal and ingenue?

I wish there was more Asian representation in these videos. I think the only Asian representation I’ve seen is in Gamine, which I definitely do not have the body type or face for.
