We finally dial in the Bilstein bypass shocks on our 2018 Jeep Wrangler JLUR and use the opportunity to explain why most off-the-shelf shocks don't perform as well as they should off road. And, of course, how to make your suspension behave the way it should off road!
Hope you all enjoy the video!

This video should be required viewing for anyone that plans on spending money on a suspension. You can pour all the money you want into it, but if it isn't set up for your rig and your use, it's a total waste of money. And yeah, I loved the final fly by.

I remember when I was but a kid, I drove RC controlled cars semi competitively. (I raced a Blue Eagle LS from Traxxas, one of the first long arm race trucks) I was on this one track with a bunch of whoops that it kept slapping it's rear end on. Turns out, I had put the wrong weight oil in my front shocks, so the damping was very weak, and the springs very strong. So every time it compressed, it rebounded like mad pushing the front end up, This rotated the car, so the front went up, and the rear went down. Thus the rear ended up going where the front end had just been, the rear end would plow into the whoops a moment later. Ended up putting thicker oil in the front shocks, and also lowering the spring rate a little bit, and it just flowed over the whoops after that. _It was a good lesson in how big a difference, a few small changes can make._ On a sidenote : Dang you guys must go through a lot of permanent markers ? 😁

I upgraded my 3/4 ton to Billstein and they improved its ride towing on rough roads. I cannot imagine needing to improve our stock rubicon JL. We blew out one of our front Bilstein and they replaced both under warranty, which is nice to see them stand behind their product
