It's been 4 months since my tinnitus got worse. First 3 weeks I didn't think I could live. Now I'm back to normal eventhough it's still very loud ringing noise in my ear. Once you learn how to accept /habituate your tinnitus then your life will get easier. I know it's hard, but please hang in there guys. Best wishes.

Mine started in January. February and march were the worst months of my life. As time goes by, you just deal, and somehow your brain pushes it aside. Now, late May, it still bothers me, but man, that's just the way it is. Just gotta keep living life, and pray for a cure.

My guess and only me But I think if more ENT And I don’t wish this on anyone But if more of the specialized doctors suffered or have all experienced this Just me But I think the mindset of “ you got to live with it”. “ nothing we can do “ I really think those dialogues from those in the field to help those suffering would change And FAST !

I'M NUMBER 1! YAY! here's what I want, Hearing Aid Providers(NB: mine is a clinic-store owned titularly by an ENT's wife) to appreciate that BTE/IN the EAR Hearing Aids can boost sound...all kinds of sound INCULDING the tinnitus I've been living with for 40 years. In a nutshell, my tinnitus is worse for wearing hearing aids. So what do you guys in the AuD community say to suffers like me. The worst part of "enhanced tinnitus" is an even more pronounced startle reflex. Cheers.

What’s interesting is yesterday for the first time I got up in the morning no tinnitus. First time in months. So I asked myself what was I thinking? And I realized I had received some good news about a family member. It was The best news I heard in a long time. Well anyway I went to work today and I came home and what’s interesting is my tinnitus is in full sound mode This time it’s a hissing sound. I will go through therapy tonight using the spoons clanking in the back of my head the index finger over the middle finger approach and massaging. I’m sure a lot has to do with how you’re feeling

Yes! I got my best relief 24hours after explaining in detail the amount of suffering I was going through with my wife. She was super understanding and caring (first time? Lol ) This surely had a hand in dropping the volume by 80%! Instead of a loud screaming, now tinnitus is a hum. I never felt I needed therapeutic talking before.

Well, i Just got there Is a certain point your brain can accept T but when u have spike or strong reactivity there is nothing that can help u, u just have to resist and suffer silently. The first step to undertstand T is realizing there are differente level of It and that sometimes it's impossible to cope with It!!!

My Tinnitus is made worse by wearing Hearing Aids. Any comment on that? So the trade off to wearing the devices that help me navigate a normal life make my symptoms worse. I haven't found any of the AuD's I've worked with to be particularly appreciative of this. It sucks, believe me. Worst effect? My startle reflex is off the charts. Please don't sneak up behind me...

Might be that your hearing aid has not been programmed properly. In such cases the hearing is damaged further. Better consult some good audiologist.

My ear rings Roar whistles creeks. It's exhausting frustrating and depressing. Last August I thought that I would go crazy and barely slept for weeks. I didn't even utter a single word for a month then started stammering. Vertigo made my pathetic condition horrendous. Life was like living hell. But somehow hyperacusis and vertigo subsided, multiple sounds are still there but now I don't care. Tinnitus is potato infront of vertigo and hyperacusis. 😀😀.

Hi, I used to have tinnitus but it was really low, to the point where I could only ear it in a quiet room. Three weeks ago, I had a middle ear infection that made my tinnitus a lot worse. Ive gone to the ENT, and he told me that my ear infection is totally over, and my ears are not clogged anymore, but my tinnitus is still a lot higher, and I can hear ir almost all the day. Do you think my tinnitus will go back to normal soon??? Keep up the good work

Acceptance. Also, hasn’t it been linked to 1. TMJ or 2. clogged arteries by the ear drum. What’s the thought on that?

Tinnitus is possible from a damaged cochlea also, some tinnitus suffers associate their tinnitus to covid or the vaccine . Dr. Ben has the best videos on tinnitus

Yes, TMJ and/or other ear related issues may contribute to tinnitus. A medical evaluation can help determine etiology.

I've had mild tinnitus my whole life until May 27th... Ever since then it's like someone turned up the volume knob to max. Definitely the worst experience I've ever had. Like high frequency cicada's screaming in both ears. Kinda scary to think I may be dealing with this for the rest of my life now.

I couldn't hear people talking in normal conversations. That loud. 1. I got help with 2000mg vitamin C. 2. Detailing my tinnitus suffering in a long conversation with my wife who is super understanding. Mental therapy. 3. THC - I bought vape cartridges with 50/50 thc - cbd. Use before bed. I'm at normal levels of tinnitus now. The screaming is down to a hum. Never give up. Try everything. Keep a diary.

@Sammasambuddha2 ай бұрын
@8darill0diggzon89 Hi. Sadly, this condition is getting worse over time. Not better. I do not have good news. Supplements (C, D2, E, etc) caused intestinal issues. I discontinued after 4 months. Zero alcohol now. A beer sends my tinnitus into overdrive. Sleep deprivation from tinnitus has me hallucinating, falling downstairs, (dislocated shoulder + hip) and I can no longer hold conversations without forgetting what I'm talking about. It's so overwhelming I've compiled a cons/pros list of why I need to keep trying. I won't sugar coat it. I'm just another person who pulled the short stick for suffering. It's no one else's problem. And it seems there's no end in sight. Others will have better news for you. Good luck.

I'm in all of them expect for bargaining. I'm trying to accept it, but my tinnitus is so annoying, high ptiched and offensive. I'm depressed because I don't know if it will ever get better and maybe I can habituate. I'm angry at myself for not taking care of myself as I should have. And I'm still a bit in denial, thinking I might have an ear infection that the doctor didnt see during my check up.

A ridiculous title. Click bait-y in fact. The grief process is a function of learning to let go of previous good health aka a world without the intrusive fake construct of sound generated by our brain i.e. NO tinnitus. The state most of us lived in pre-tinnitus. Yes, the habituation process is a by-product of working throughout the grief process of lost good health. I have gone through it and for those that haven't quite worked through it and wondering if they will, at some point you have to accept tinnitus a part of who you are now. I have a friend that was born with it in fact in spite of normal hearing capacity. I am habituated now but would be lying if I said my spikes aren't bothersome at times. They are. But as with many, we carry on. A full life is the best defense against tinnitus.
