Why Youtube Deletes Comments & Why Youtube Creators Remove & Censor Comments Or Shadow Ban You

This video is an update to a video I posted a few months ago about deleting comments from my youtube videos. I explain why I delete comments on my KZbin channel and I talk about why many channel owners and KZbin creators may also delete comments on their videos. I also explain how to tell if your comment was deleted by the KZbin creator or by KZbin itself. Many people may consider this youtube censorship, and maybe it is censorship by either KZbin or the creator, but both the KZbin channel owner / KZbin creator have a right to censor or moderate comments on their channel or the KZbin platform or even shadow-ban you to block or hide your comments. Some people have also proclaimed that it is illegal for KZbin to shadowban you, delete comments or that it violates the United States Constitution to censor comments left on KZbin videos, so I also talk about that accusation.

the problem with youtube is they want the protections afforded them by being an "unmoderated" platform while moderating their platform. If youtube was held to the same standard as print or over the air media they could be held liable for all the dangerous" how to's" and other stupid crap they allow on the platform when they act as a moderated platform. Yep it's a serious issue and it runs deeper than a lot of people realize. Over the past couple years I've personally had dozens of comments deleted by what I can only assume is an automated system, as in various cases the comments in question were buried in threads that no large YTuber would ever read all the way through. It's so bad that anytime I comment on this platform I immediately open up a private window to see if my comment was actually posted or not, most of the time it isn't (if this comment isn't immediately flagged and shadowbanned I'll eat my hat). Why are so many of my comments being deleted, am I some crazy racist homophobe Nazi or something? While it's true that overt bigotry and offensive speech will trigger the system, rest assured that I do not harbor any extreme hate-fueled sentiment, nor would I discuss such things in a public forum. Oftentimes my comments that get deleted are structured and articulated exactly the same as this one. That is to say, anytime I endeavor to question, shine a spotlight on, or even just voice my opinion on socioeconomic matters such as censorship, ethics especially pertaining to business practices, political or religious views, or anything that could be considered "provocative" because it doesn't perfectly tow the line of brand-friendly Western Liberalism. I've seen some hypothesize that this is some sort of targeted attack against the right-wing perpetuated by the some leftist boogeyman, but believe me that as someone with a very deep and passionate hatred of capitalism and the entire idea of profit motive, I am as much a subject to this censorship as a skinhead would be. This is how thoughtful discourse dies.

Same, I studied International & EU law and there is so, so much (deliberate) misinformation about these subjects out right now. Often I just point out flaws in logic, or state simple facts, quote the stated, actual law or how certain political entities work without any emotional attachment or giving my personal opinion whether it is good or not that a law, institution or entity works that way. Deleted. What I suspect is happening is that your comments got reported enough times as hate speech or whatever that you're now automatically being shadow-banned. I literally left a comment disagreeing with gender being a spectrum, and said there is only 2 genders. I was not rude and did not insult anyone and made zero threats or personal attacks. I just kindly stated my view, but that comment got shadow-banned. So I deleted that comment and posted again but said the opposite just to test it, so I just said "Yes! Deleting comments is a double edged sword. While i agree with alot of what Randy says, i disagree with any form of censorship. As the best way to show illogical thought patterns are just that, one must be exposed to it. As for youtube, it is suppose to be a platform not a publisher, the reason it can not be sued is because of section 203, but censorship makes it a publisher by curating content, while it is protected by section 203, aslong as it censors, it shouldnt be. If it didnt want to be a public forum it would scale itself back, yet it insists on being the public forum which subjects itself to being held to either a place where free speech is aloud without censorship within the confines of the laws, or a publisher in where it can dictate what is shared on its platform which voids its protection from a lawsuit. It only has the protection of section 203 because it has the majority of lawmakers in its pocket.

Go look through comments on video's about the military, navy, airforce and or anything of the like and you will see floods of comments in chinese or from them in poor english asking questions on how these entities operate. there is foreign issues very abundant on yt and it has a lot to do with how the ai algorithm works. Censorship in some ways is mandatory, but i don't see how people arguing is bad for any channel as they eventually start dragging in their friends or groups which gets clicks. most channels with wild agenda's are just blocking themselves from making more money, but if the yt ai flags it then you've said something in a manner that triggered the ai to deem it as sensitive information or just have been reported too many times for abusive behavior. I don't see much wrong with it, except that channel owners retain the right to delete any comment even if its a intellectual comment of value and use someone else's intellectual thought to profit. Yt has made a portal to intellectual property theft and should be held accountable for that.

Lately youtube has removed about half of my comments. They're removed immediately after I post, despite the fact I've never posted anything objectionable or against the TOS. A lot of Content Creators are " Thin-Skinned' folks they don't take any type of objective criticism very well, and will block you if you don't kiss up to them. It say a lot about their character.

Yeah that's true it's all about them it's one sided but then again I probably have to watch the way I say things. It's that saying " it's not what you say , it's how you say it. Although I don't be saying nothing crazy sometimes and the comment gets still gets deleted. What happens is when you go against the grain of a popular narrative you automatically get blcoked. You really can't have a opinion these days unless its a popular or the general one , anything out the norm gets kicked out . I feel society is too one dimensional ,minded.

@@jalen1838I’d argue a different reason. My person reason is that people are sensitive snowflakes who get offended at what others say online that they want to delete it. My answer is that if you want to delete stuff because it hurts your feelings, then get off the internet. I was temp banned for 24 hours for saying I didn't think women should be allowed to vote anymore. I didn't threaten anyone, or recommend or entice any kind of actions or violence, yet it was flagged as hate speech. I get that people, mostly women, won't like it, but it's an opinion that is based on studies and life experiences about and with them. Yet, I see plenty of comments on the same channel saying men are terrible and %@$# women. (Sorry, can't say it because it's "offensive") KZbin is a dictatorship censoring anything they don't like. It's extremely far left just like reddit is. I'm about to leave the internet and only use it for movies and games. People are just too psychotic nowadays.
