In this video I discuss some of the reasons why comments that you leave on KZbin videos may be deleted by the KZbin comment-moderation system. I discuss the types of comments that the automated KZbin system deletes, I talk about the biases (republican, liberal, woke, conservative, etc) that the automated KZbin comments system may or may not have and finally I go over the belief of many KZbinrs that the KZbin comments system is just plain broken.

A channel creator deleting comments I'm good with though it often shows they're just easily butthurt. People don't like it and it isn't a couch dweller thing. People like dumb comments and I've seen people delete hilarious comments that aren't offensive but rather jokes that were not well received by someone with no sense of humor. Persistent troll comments definitely should be deleted and trolls ignored. "Don't feed the trolls" is good advice.

I saw a comment section going downhill quickly, if people were on "sides" neither of them were grounded in reality. So i comment with my credentials. Detailed information concerning education and career, and noted i am considered an expert on the subject in a court of law. I didn't tell them what i thought, i said if you care to know what i think....hit me up and ill start typing my reply to your comment. My comment was deleted, so i left a similar comment noting this time that my original comment was deleted. This comment was also deleted, and since then deletion of comments happens so frequently i would say its more likely than not. So i started leaving one word comments....not directed to the op comment but to others commenting. The one word statements like .."dumb", or "solipsistic" always remain while sentences written are deleted. ???

I've been active on YT for over 15 years. For the first time ever, this week I got 3 strikes for 'hate speech' and a threat that one more strike and I'm gone. I know for certain I have never said anything remotely hateful or in violation of guidelines. I never name call. I'm not disrespectful to anyone. I just state facts or ask questions. Unfortunately when you get a notification that your comment was 'hate speech', they don't tell you what the comment was, or offer any option to contest it. They don't even say they'll review it. I have only been on Y / T for about 12 months. I don't like abuse but I do like to be challenged and told I'm wrong and why, in a polite way. I really enjoy getting into the mind and logic of why people see things differently to me. How else can I learn. Sometimes you have to put forward strong ideas to provoke a stimulating challenge and get someone like me to step outside my bubble and see that I may be wrong. Thats How I try to better myself. Yeah I just got a warning pop up as I was about to watch a video with a warning claiming I have violated terms of service and my ability to comment will suspended if I continue. The claim is hate speech. Unfortunately they don’t tell me what the comment is or what video or what specifically violated their ambiguous terms. Ok KZbin thanks. They are censoring.

It helps me take a temperature on the content and the culture of the creator's followers among other things before watching a long video.. What good is it if half the replies are being removed?

I saw a guy basically justifying terrorists and their actions talking about how sharia law in Iran and Afghanistan is completely reasonable. So I commented "How is banning women from going to school reasonable." (Which is not false. You can just google it.). The comment was instantly deleted over and over. All I had to do was refresh the page and it was gone. I commented once more and waited for a few hours just to see if it was some sort of bug. But my comment never appeared. Then I tried to comment something different and I could see the comment instantly and it's still there to my knowledge.

Comments being deleted is frustrating beyond belief, whereas making them invisible for others is just evil. Guess it goes two way - some things I'd rather not see, but the current algorithm and how some users are black listed to a point (probably using some sort of score) makes you feel muzzled. Often feeling this way when trying to express points of view on important and contentious global issues, other times it's unclear. It's not even about being nice or not, sometimes what gets deleted makes no sense as to why. I am just walking away it seems, maybe from KZbin, from all the noise in life also... who knows how finding oneself expresses itself externally....

Their support system is just as broken as no human ever sees the complaint or issue. It is completely automated. To get ahold of an actual human you have to reach out to them on a separate platform, aka X formally known as Twitter. Even then you have to be a big name with millions of views or subscribers for them to even consider looking at the issue. That is a terrible way to run support, as they look down their noses at everyone.

Every time I log on to KZbin, I have a box pop up telling me about some "hate speech" I have supposedly posted, and I have replied MULTIPLE times to them for clarification of what posting they are referring to and have yet to receive a response. They assume I will just hit the "OK" button and accept responsibility for some posting, but I will not, and so therefore I have to hit the refresh button 3 times to make the warning box go away before I can enjoy the work of fine creators such as yourself Randy!!! The government needs to step in. Yes, it's a private company, but it's also a platform that has huge impact on politics and culture everywhere, and that impacts everybody.
