This is so fascinating to listen to. Thank god for a mature, intellectual discourse on this film. I really love that he devoured the source material, broke down every draft and deleted scene, and tried his best to fix the holes in the story. Eg. Making sure the plot 100% fits into the ‘documentary’ of The Wizard of Oz. He knows his stuff and I truly feel safe in his hands. :) All the awards and job opportunities for this man, please.

Wow! Captivating to watch how Mr Chu thinks, speaks and is able to process all the details, then uses himself as the tool to orchestrate this magical film! ❤

Great interview! Yours is the first one I listened to so far. I appreciate hearing Jon's insights. Humbling to hear that even at his level, he had obstacles initially with getting noticed to do this project (Not hearing back for 10 years?!). Those are the kinds of details that entertainment industry professionals appreciate hearing about--the journey and not just about the highs of one's career.

Wow, what a great interview!! I was wondering how you got started doing interviews like this and what is the best way to get started??

Thanks Meg, Been five years of doing The Filmmakers Podcast and getting to know the PR companies over that time by getting good at interviewing and not asking (too many) silly questions, so they trust you and then ask you back. But mainly it is understanding the craft so you can fully understand what they are talking about and the hard work they went through to get there.

That was great you guys. Very greatful to hear about successes when attempting something ambitious. Love the advise to concentrate on the process and that we don't control the outcome at least concerning success commercially. Funny how relevant that is, I just ran off at the mouth about investment. Should have watched your discussion first.
