@jenniferhiemstra5228 I'm well-read on the story of how it sat in development hell while Disney tried to fill the void with _Oz, the Great and Powerful_ (which I re-watched recently and is nowhere near as bad as I remembered after seeing it in 2012). My comment was more of a tongue-in-cheek observation of the parallels the film has with the political madness unfolding days before its long-anticipated arrival.

So interested in how they made Jeff's version of The Wizard even darker vs. others who have portrayed it him on stage. He'll do all of them proud and even the ones I was lucky to witness on Broadway...... Sean McCourt (u/s George Hearn), P.J. This movie is a dream come true for an avid Oz fan like myself, and for Wicked in itself being a spiritual prequel to The Wonderful Wizard of Oz just like the Disney film Oz the Great and Powerful. Having saw the Broadway play and reading the book at least twice, I'm satisfied with the overall cast of this movie, but I was thrilled to learn. Jeff Goldblum was going to be playing The Great and Terrible Oz himself. This guy is perfect for the role and I look forward to him bringing the book in the stage play to life in this screenplay. I'm most excited to see the Oz Head in action, although they didn't have the head floating on a throne like in the books and the play. Non the less this movie will be one for the ages!!

No… the tin man is another character that will be revealed in Part II. The “robot” is likely more of a reference to the character of Tik-Tok from the original Oz books by Baum (and used in the film Return to Oz). As a character created in the early 1900s, he wasn’t a robot… he was a mechanical man.
