Wicked is a strong top 3 of my favorite musicals. Behind only of The Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables. I hope the movie does it justice.

Great musical, this was the last show I watched before lockdown, it was a further 18 months later that I returned to the theatre to see Joseph at the Palladium 😀

Having seen the London staging on the video and only ever seen Wicked on tour (and possibly suffered from too much hype so slightly disappointed) so may be the answer is to see it in London (…..does raise thought of shows you need to see in London eg recently saw Come from Away in Liverpool having twice seen in London …..just as good, Hamilton and Sister Act in Manchester earlier this year were also pretty good but maybe some London shows really benefit from London staging)

That’s an interesting observation! I’ve never seen Wicked outside of Apollo Victoria so I don’t have the best idea how different the staging is when touring but I would think that shouldn’t matter too much. Although Apollo Victoria is a really big theatre (maybe even too big for my taste) so it does have space for the show to expand but that removes some intimate moments. Hope you give Wicked another go tho, it is magical. 😊

I hope so too! She has amazing vocals so I’m not worried from that perspective but I do think it will be quite different to our usual Gaaa-linda on stage. ☺️
