That scene made me cry, I was seeing myself in junior high, being bullied and humiliated, hoping for an outcome like this, hoping that someone would come and share my humiliation. Not only is this scene powerful and emotional you can learn a lot about elphaba just from how she dances. A lot of her dancing is reflective of animal mating rituals where they dance to communicate they want a companion and the fact that she was not only alone and dancing to show how she was alone but also how she grew up surrounded by animals and how she learned from them and the fact that Galinda -the “GA” is silent- danced in return with her is how an animal would communicate back when they want to be their companion when I saw it in theaters I noticed it which made me very emotional because not only is Galinda helping her feel included but it shows Elphaba’s cries for companionship which elevates the line “she does care, she just doesn’t show it” and gives more into the thought of the characters in that moment. This scene has to be one of the most powerful, memorable, emotional, and iconic of the film really showing why it’s such a great film.

This scene was so heartbreaking in such a beautiful way. I think we all know what it’s like to be bullied and laughed at, to feel Elphaba’s loneliness and pain, and Cynthia conveys it with such power and vulnerability. The moment Galinda truly sees that she herself is like Elphaba, always caring what others think; dancing along with Elphaba was her way of asking for forgiveness and wanting to connect with her. The “For Good” motif when they touch hands was the cherry on top of an already perfect scene (and had me crying like a baby). This film is absolutely beautiful.

I think this scene was so powerful for so many people because it wasn't acting. Ari and Cynthia have made it clear they deeply relate to these characters at their core. Cynthia was not acting. That was real pain coming out of those tears from real experiences shes struggled with similar to elphabas. And glindas care was Ari's genuine care and empathy for Cynthia. You could pick up on it. And as someone who relates so deeply to elphaba and cynthia, this scene has touched me so deeply, i cant stop thinking about it. I was sobbing during this part. Im so proud of this story and this film.

I went in knowing this scene was emotional. Didn’t realise how much this would hit me. I couldn’t stop crying the moment Elphy entered. Brilliant scene and brilliantly acted by both actors.

As someone who has been ridiculed for my skin condition, I understand this scene so much. I understood eplhabas pain through the cinema scene. I was bawling and crying in the cinema. Bravo Cynthia and Ariana

This scene was magical beyond measures. Touched me watching it play out. Beautifully portrayed, so realistic to individuals in society and emotionally captivating. Simple message; kindness is free and takes no time to carry out. Be kind to others & remember, even every star🌟 is different in their own ways. Uniqueness is cool.🤙🏾

I really appreciate how dedicated and passionate everyone is and how much emotion they put into a big production movie. I think as humans each of us can see a bit of our characteristics in Elphaba or Glinda, we can empathise so much with them and see part of our personal struggle reflected back at us. From what I have read in comments people really feel like this movie mirrored some of their personal struggles wich ever they are, this is the beauty of movie making, they made it now it belongs to the human collective. The emotion in this movie is such a unique thing to find paired with great visuals and story telling I am really greatfull that it took the time it did to see this movie materialise, they somehow found the perfect people to convey this beautifull masterpiece. I feel like this movie is really allowing people to feel their emotions, accept them and released them. In times of war, uncertanty and A.I taking over human creativity it reminded us that we are all filled with such powerfull emotions that really can shape our surroundings and healling is an important thing that we need to take care of for ourselves. This is such a Gift to the world, trully from the bottom of my heart thank you for this amazing gift!!! 🌈💚💖💚💖💚💖💚💖🌈🦁🤖🎃👠💫🌪

This scene alone is why I understand why Ari and Cynthia bonded so deeply together and why they’re both always so emotional and connected during press tours. Having to learn and constantly practice this type of emotion and chemistry forces you to really understand a person. Those were Cynthia’s real tears. She cried everytime they had to do this scene because she had to portray the embodiment of utter loneliness, rejection, humiliation and bravery in the face of fear.

When elphaba put on the hat again, it was like she chose to own her shame which simultaneously takes away its power over her. It brought me back me to moments in my life where I plucked the courage to do the same and it reminded me of the immense strength that was needed to do so. I felt so seen.

I bawled harder during this scene today than I did when I saw it for the first time in theaters. So freaking powerful and jsut resonates with so many of us out there that feel so alone and isolated, no matter how many people physically surround us. Cannot thank Jon, Ariana, but most importantly Cynthia enough for having done this scene justice and to absolute sheer perfection
