U can pronounce Treinamento this way: "trae-nah-men-toe" And u can pronounce Rei like "hay"/"hey" And just to give some context to the brand. Even though particularly ive never seen anybody talk about it, im 99% sure that O Rei (the king) is a tribute to Pelé, also as the 3 stars in the Athleta logo, as a reference to the 3 World Cups that he won.

A brand first based in Belém do Pará, in Brazil, after half-dead brand and relived by Japanese The Brand Company (TBC). This a Brazilian-Japanese brand so, my country now can be a reference in Tier 1 TF shoes.

But in Brazil, my country, we have Athleta Imports, a subdivision of Athleta exclusive for imported products in football and sportswear. My Athleta O Rei A005 has come, it feels so comfy, and there is no pressure points, I've had also ordered Athleta O Rei T6, a FG football boot, but more designed for Asian football market, since they overcommit on stability, quick direction changes and dribbling technique. O Rei T6 haves kangaroo leather in the upper, midfoot in synthetic microfiber and synthetic resin. My O Rei Treinamento A005 in Japan costs 14300 yen in Japanese market, and O Rei T6 costs 16000 yen in Japanese market. Also, it is a speed boot, but more designed for giving freedom of movement through conical spikes, instead of traction like Nike or Adidas boots. For people that overcommit in dribbling technique or ball control, is a wise choice (O Rei T6 and O Rei Treinamento)

Been waiting to see your thoughts on these. Bought these back when I lived in Taiwan a few years ago, absolute dream turf shoe. I used to wear the MagistaX Proximo, but once I got the O’Rei’s I’ve never looked back. I’ve got easily over 100 games in them (including games in snow and heavy rain), still holding up just fine with little maintenance (had to replace the insole though). Meaning to pick up another pair next time I visit Taiwan or Japan. Oh, and your points about the runners knot and the suede lining on the tongue, read my mind. It’s the little things that make a good product become a great product.

Tier 1 TF boot. On the short list of the very best. Insole kinda sucks tho, has a tendency to move around and crinkle under heel. Edit: nm, apparently the insole was an issue a few years ago, athleta fixed it

And is "treinamento" (you pronunciate the E(s) as almost a A in Britanic English (I maybe kind of talking nonsense here, but for us Brazilians is easy as no other word to say "treinamento". This soccer boot is designed for mist training (in turf or grass), is part of Athleta market strategy to invest not just in conventional soccer but for other areas as futvolley, volleyball, training and streetwear after the "Japanization". And as Japanese brand, the Kangaroo Leather is on the top level! (This is Kangaroo Leather, not a simple leather)

​@@NoahCavanaugh I'm a Mizuno guy. I tried Pantofola D'Oro, they are amazing boots, I used the Modena and Superstar models in training. Modena is comparable to the MIJ Morelia 2, I liked the soleplate better than the Mizunos and the Superstar is quite a modern boot, it's like if the neo 4 beta was made fully from leather, totally worth trying.

One thing I just don’t understand is that Nike swapped the leather from tiempo 10 to synthetic probably because of cost/manufacture, but they continue to have leather on the Premier 3. It don’t make sense to me🙃

Hey there Noah, sorry if this isn't the appropriate place to ask you this but I really need your advice. I recently bought Copa Gloros (4 months ago) and they absolutely destroyed my heels. Should have listened to your reviews about how bad they were but guess I was wrong. Its really uncomfortable for me to play in cause my feet are quite high volume. I recently found Copa Icons for quite a good deal and I was wondering if you recommend I should get them? They would be cheaper than 442s for the price I found them for, do you think they are worth getting over the 442s? Especially considering my big ass feet.

Just get the 442s my brother. I have tried many many many boots due to my insanely wide foot (it is literally off the charts), and the 442 in 2E, is the only one that fits my properly right out of box.

@@similingun7985 The thing is, 442s rather disappointingly have switched from using leather to completely synthetic like Nike did with the Premier 3s. Frankly I find that quite scummy and while it would be nice to find 442s that are still leather they are seemingly out of stock everywhere.

@@TahmidHO I don't think they have switched to full synthetic. It's still a forefoot k leather construction. I hope we are talking about the same boot, the 442 V2 Pro. I just got them this year and they are definitely still k leather. Or it could be a regional thing, like I know California don't allow sale of k leather products. I live in Asia, and the 442s are everywhere at dirt cheap prices and definitely k leather.

The 442s are class, and definitely worth the price tag. I'd try to find an older colorway though, as the new ones are all synthetic!

Hey Noah I would love to have your opinion on the this: Should I go for the vapour 16 elite or adidas F50 messi elite and I wear 8uk on my preds(club version) so If I get F50 then aswell I should get 8uk or something and if I buy vapour 16 then also I should get 8uk. I have a mid-wide or average mid foot and I have heard that F50 messi will be tighter for than the nike mercurial vapour 16 and one con of vapour 16 is that it has too much grip and makes the ball tough to control

Not totally Brazilian, the first ever factory of Athleta was in Belém do Pará (in Pará state, Brazil), but the factory was in bankruptcy, then The Brand Company (a Japanese based company in Shibuya, Tokyo, became major investors in Athleta, or we can say owners of the brand Athleta), so we can say Athleta is a root based Brazilian company but owned by Japanese, so we have a Nipo-Brazilian company. I ordered a pair of "Athleta O Rei" after a video of the channel "Camisas e Chuteiras", posted 3 days ago of my comment in Noah's video in this comment section. In Brazil, high prices, R$910 if you live in São Paulo state, but a quick arrival, question of 2 days to arrive, and after Camisas e Chuteiras's and Noah's video, I feel excited to put my hands on these Brazilian-Japanese beauties (or mostly Japanese, since they are designed in Shibuya)
