"I was drunk" is not an excuse, It's a confession of guilt because while drunk thats who they truly are.
@Jadae2 жыл бұрын
That's only sometimes true. However, they chose to get drunk and at that age understand who they already are, so its still on them.
@xenyadot2 жыл бұрын
@@Jadae when drunk you will not do anything your subconsciously uncomfortable with, so what you do is what your like without self control, its not a sometimes thing its a "this is how humans are when drunk." Thing that has been studied and people like you should stop being enablers to people using it as an excuse to justify their behaviour...drunk mouths speak sober thoughts, if your abusive when drunk, your simply an abuser who's exerting self control to not be abusive while sober...the only exceptions are those who can exert self control while drunk and end up behaving the same, or people that have no self control when sober thus act no differently when drunk. Stop being an enabler and start holding people accountable...you can forgert the harm you've done, but that doesn't automatically unharm someone, you can't unharm someone at all...the alcohol is no excuse because thats stuff that can out of a person when your alone and they feel they can get away with letting you see that side of them.
@fanendey2 жыл бұрын
That makes me think about the only case where being drunk is an actual excuse, and that's when someone who's sober takes advantage of a person who's almost blackout drunk. There's always the abuse situation, that's why the "being drunk is not an excuse" quote rubs me the wrong way. I understand the people who say it, because the excuse is overused so much. But it depends so much on the situation! Because if there's like proof it has been happening for a while, pre planned or even just the initial intent then yes, definitely cheating. But if it's a situation where the victim is taken advantage of because of their inebriated state then... it's R^pe... I saw a case about a young woman "getting it on" with her sisters fiance. The thing is she was 10+ years younger than the fiance, and so drunk she struggled to remember anything that happened. She relied on the fiance to drive her home, he pulled the car over and "did it" with her, then dropped her at her house. This was a clear instance of a sober man in his mid 30s taking advantage of a very drunk young woman. Her family shunned her for being abused and completely excused the sober fiance... I apologize for my bad English, im not a native English speaker. I hope I provided another perspective by being the devils advocate!
@rachelsarmientotack2 жыл бұрын
@@fanendey I agree with and understand that perspective. I just don't think it really applies in this particular case due to continued flirting, meetings, and secrecy. It could have been prolonged shame and belief that she was culpable in her r^pe... she could have been managing her r^pist/coworker (and thus her job) in secrecy the best she thought she could while doing her best to avoid ruining her relationship. That could possibly be why she was so eager for the OP to tell her to quit her job or work elsewhere. So, she could blame her sudden departure on an overly jealous spouse rather than her own terrible experience with the coworker (especially because her mother works in the same place... it could really rock some boats close to home). I don't know the bigger situation. And OP wouldn't know either unless she's willing to communicate. I know in many of these situations, victims may be more willing to lose valued people in their life thinking that they chose to cheat rather than be seen as powerless as they feel deep inside themselves. It may not be the correct choice. But it's their choice to make. And thus, all of this is just conjecture until more truth comes to light through communication, effort to heal the relationship, or further cheating behavior.
@fanendey2 жыл бұрын
@@rachelsarmientotack as I mentioned in my comment, it depends on the situation. I believe the OP in this story was indeed cheating. But my comment was more directed to the "being drunk is not an exuse" quote! I understand and agree with your comment, but my perspective was more general rather than this one situation. Thank you for your input though!

If you met my ex you'd think she's the nicest person in the world. She's engaging and sweet and very kind. She was also a serial cheater who would gaslight me and lied to my face constantly with no remorse or regret. Her main focus was always on anger at getting caught, and how I knew what I knew, etc. Personally, I don't have a problem with telling the affair partners wife. Think about it - wouldn't you want to know if your partner was cheating? I feel that it's the right thing to do - however, some may not want to hear it and blame the messenger.

The dude with the cheating wife shot himself in the foot. Confronting a cheater without solid information is a no-no, because they're very good at deflecting. He should've installed a back door on her phone to get a clearer picture or just bluffed that he had more information to pull a confession out of her. If you're confronting somebody who's capable of hiding a relationship on the side with no remorse always do your due diligence, because they'll feel no remorse about lying to your face either.

He could've had her give him her phone so he could bring it to some "tech people" to secure it. Then checked it, if she didn't give it to him for that purpose then he has more reason to be suspicious and with physical acess to the phone could easily have made a back door and planted it in her phone without her knowing and then watched from there.

Whenever you suspect your partner of cheating like the OP this is now your opportunity to burn them as hard as they have burned you. First is get a lawyer and start the process of protecting yourself and your assets. Second hire a private investigator and get a back door app the cheaters phone. This way you can gather all the information you need to prove unequivocally their infidelities. Lastly timing is key when confronting your affair partner. Figure out a time when the affair partner is going to be gone for a few days, schedule a little holiday retreat for them so they are out of the home. After they leave get the cheaters personal belongings into a storage unit, change the locks, file a no contact restraining order. Have the divorce papers and restraining order served. Remember the person in the home usually get the leverage over the home, the most valuable asset. And in the immortal words of the Cobra Kai, strike first strike hard no mercy

This guy is a doormat and an idiot. “Why should I get a lawyer after seeing this evidence?” Why didn’t he think of hiring a PI or tracking her/AP on his day off himself for hard proof? He thinks she is cheating, and has fairly good evidence pointing towards that; so why I’d OP leaving the house instead of her? She knows OPs default reactions to her so she is consciously acting the opposite to gaslight him. Also trickle-truthing; only admitting to what she knows he knows. If she gets “nasty” in the divorce then I don’t feel bad for OP at all! He did it to himself since he was unwilling to listen to advice and hire/speak to a lawyer. OP wants to ignore/believe it wasn’t true, that’s on him. He can’t blame anyone but himself when his life goes to sh*t as he ignored it, buried his head in the sand and allowed it to happen.
