It's a strange kind of juvenile thinking "get rid of" like tossing someone in the trash instead of saying "hey, I'm sorry but this isn't working out and I wanna split". I do the latter and guys really do rage about it rather than saying "thanks for not cheating on me or thanks for not dragging this out into eternity". Instead they're like "how daaaaaaare you leave me" 🤯

I knew David Harmon's parents because i started attending the same church after David left for college. He was their only child and was their pride and joy. This crushed them. They always suspected Melinda. She couldn't look them in the eye and avoided them at the funeral. His mother died before the trial but his father went to it.

Melinda was a family friend of mine growing up. She was pretty much an aunt to me. Her husband is my mother’s boss currently. She has all the attributes of a sociopath. Overly smiley, bubbly and upbeat to the point of being creepy. She was involved in this murder and shows no signs of guilt or shame. When she was released and resumed her friendship with my parents there was no apology or attempt at reconciliation. My family has forgiven her because she was “young then” and “has made peace with the lord”. I am alone in my feelings of disgust and am moved to tears when I think about my mom handing me the phone to talk to Melinda while she was in prison. I stopped going to the dentist office that her husband owns and maintain that she is an absolute monster. What a shame what the Nazarene church can produce and how lackluster our judicial system is when it comes to horrible crimes such as these. Every year my family visits the Raischs 1+ million dollar home for their annual New Year’s party while I am told that I need to forgive and get over it. What an absolute shame. Her and Mark Mangelsdorf deserve to rot in prison.

I believe Melinda experienced schadenfreude, that is, pleasure, joy and self-satisfaction from the troubles, failures and humiliation of others. She set that pattern early on in life as you described her being a tattletale even over the smallest most inane of infractions and carried that behavior into adulthood e.g. outing the dean over an alleged affair he was having. She seemingly continued with that pattern enjoying taunting and watching Mark suffer with his lust for her. I also imagine Melinda enjoyed seeing her husband suffer for gluttony?? (in her eyes) by being beat to death with a crowbar. All the while, she smiles in her pictures like a little innocent princess.

@@gretarobinson1142 Strict. No movies. No dancing (excused from folk dancing in grade school). No cards, dice, any games of 'chance'. NO TV on Sunday. Shamed for listening to Top 40 radio. Always under pressure to be 'saved and sanctified' at the altar. Later, growing into my gay self, and knowing I was doomed to eternal Hellfire. Because, if you think it, it's the same as doing it, in 'the eyes of The Lord'. And all of this represented as 'love'. And get this: as a teen, I was fondled by the Sunday School Superintendent. In my late teens, I turned my back on the whole thing, and struggled through the fear of 'what if I'm wrong???' . Once I became convinced that all I'd had crammed down my throat was nonsense, I began to enjoy living. It's been a fine life.

@@janinemccartha1811 the grass always looks greener. Satan tempts people to destroy them.
