@@npd6225 Fullback or possibly 14, does that matter? There were questions marks over where Wighton would play. He still ruled himself out, which goes against the comments that Queensland would always put QLD first, when it’s not true. If you are trying to argue that Ponga would not have been selected last year… he won the 2022 origin series, Queensland try and push this agenda about staying loyal to players.

I wouldn't underestimate Madge and his selections he'll veer away from what the media, ex players, ex coaches and most pundits expect and pick a team he thinks will do a job. There's no favourites with him, he's a ruthless operator he's shown that as Kiwis coach and he'll take that attitude into the Origin arena. One of those unexpected selections will be Latrell ..even though he hasn't shown form at club level Latrell is made for Origin he thrives in that cauldron atmosphere

Wighton wouldn't be there on form any way, Kotoni Staggs, Bradman Best and Stephen Crichton are well ahead of him. I like the description of Cam McInnes ''Bull Shark".. he's absolutely fearless. He wouldn't look out of place at Origin, just the type of tough and rugged player suited to that arena.

2023: Kalyn Ponga rules himself out for the series because he wants to focus on Newcastle. 2023: Josh Papalii retires from origin football, when he is the same age as Wighton. At least use logic when you are trying to push your argument.

Let's be real, Whitten knows he doesn't deserve a spot on the team and Madge is crazy for thinking he does. I think Freddy didn't deserve to be origin Coach after the last few years but I prefer Freddy over Madge any day. I wish Johns, Gallon or Gould would take up the role. Even Peter Sterling. Anyway Whitten left the Raiders, a really solid team to join South's to win a premiership, they have won 1 game and we are in round 11... The guys a team killer especially as a centre for Johnston, I think they should swap Latrell and Whitten.

NSW seems to be falling apart. Injures to players. Players turning them down. That's why QLD will always be better. They have Players who will play with a broken arm if needed.
