Really enjoy your reviews. Most tool reviews on KZbin are thinly disguised infomercials for the product being presented. Your reviews are clearly honest and thorough Being a tool nut myself this is the kind of purchase I might make just because it looks cool. However , even though I am not an electrician I need to know the tool would work in that application Reviews like yours make those kinds of choices much easier. Thanks again for all your efforts

I do wanted this to be great. Having the wonderful Wiha name and the comfort of the same feel of a regular driver only powered yes it sounds perfect. But with that low of torque and slow speed it don't seem to speedy (speed e) to me lol. If they redevelop it with more power I'll look into it.

I'm using Bosch Go for over half a year now and highly impressed with that great little tool. It's truly Jack of all trades, from PC building to storage racks assembling. For like €30 in retail it's no brainer. This SpeedE doesn't seem to have the same attractiveness. It's too specialized tool in the first place. And then, the price. My local dealer offer it for about €500, so nope. I'll skip this one, thanks.

"Industrial / serial production use" is someone sitting at a product assembly work cell driving fasteners continuously for eight hours a day every day. "Professional craftsmen use" is someone taking time to walk to the job location, opening a box, driving a couple of terminals, pulling and stripping some wire, closing up, going to lunch, etc. Most of the time the tool is idle and it probably has 1% to 10% of the usage of serial production.

In that case a €50 IXO will do everything this €235 Speed-E does. Except it actually works as an electric screwdriver. Get two IXOs to bypass the empty battery problem, and a set of nice bits to go with em. And still have money left to take the missus out for dinner.

I do electronic repairs...this is too slow for that, it would take you forever. I use a M12 Milwaukee screwgun(2401-22) or drill(2407-20) on clutch setting 1(SBD drills are clutch setting 2 or 3). I really don't see any situation where this would be better than a 12v drill/screwgun. Even on stuff like a PH0, where the drill is too powerful, this is going to be cumbersome. I wanted the SpeedE to be great but it needed to be more powerful and it HAS to be faster(it's probably just not possible, yet). It's slower than a ratcheting screwdriver, even when you have to grip the shaft with your other hand to provide resistance for ratcheting.

Industrial use is in a factory, oil plants, chemicals etc. Professional use, they mean domestic electrics, small businesses. There's a diff here between those two. If youre an electrician, you got two camps, the industrial boys, and the construction boys. Atleast here in NL and DE.

I was about to post the same thing! Generally I love tools that fit within the scope of this fine channel, and indeed - good review. Further, given the focus I usually refrain from non-German comparisons. But this Wiha offering is a shocking yawner compared to the DeWalt gyroscopic driver - like why did they even bother? The DeWalt tool is perhaps the most under promoted and under appreciated tool DeWalt makes - which is saying something given their prolific population of it seems like ever cordless tool you never wanted. But the DeWalt gyro-driver as I call it is a near perfect product: 100% intuitive to use, natural use model, great hex bit quick lock collet, light weight, inexpensive, and available both as kit or bare tool. @German Tool Reviews, if only to point out the obvious to Wiha who otherwise have fabulous drivers, you might want to consider a comparison.

I had a feeling this wasn't going to be very torquefull. I can't really see the advantage of it over a cordless drill which will have way more power. There are very few situations where there are no resistance in screws. The wera ratchet screwdriver would be faster than this I feel, plus the rapidaptor is way superior to wihas effort here.

In the Netherlands, these things became available a while ago with quite come whoo-haa, but I never really saw the point in one. Also, way too expensive, too slow and just another battery platform. As an electrician I come across situations where it would be useful quite often, but it's just another thing to carry into the job when I already have my Wiha torque screwdriver set and 12v impact on me.. So I tend to run the screws in with the impact until they touch, and tighten them with the torque screwdriver.

Yep, even his examples where it's good for, aren't that practical. Circuit breakers need to be tightened with a set amount of torque according to spec. E.g. 2.7NM in case of ABB ones. So you'd have to whip out another screwdriver to fully tighten anyway.

I think Wiha may have looked at your review video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHmuf6R4dt2CnLc Speede II has most of your recommendations addressed. I would love to have a look at the new one when it is released. The original Speede still available and are hideously expensive here in Australia - as with most things! The thought of having to sell a kidney to even try the new one makes it almost impossible to justify the purchase. I can buy a 2 piece Makita, Milwaukee, Bosch, or Dewalt trade level 18v kit with drill, impact driver, charger & 2 x 5aH batteries for less than the cost of this screwdriver. Cool concept though.

Given it is stupidly priced (much moreso here in Australia) and has a very limited range of uses, I don't really see the point. Very surprised Wiha would put their name to this, just goes to show good companies make bad products occasionally.
