So many memories with this game and NES in general. A magical part of my early childhood to never get back. I miss the late 80's, early 90's. Saturday cartoons, friday pizza and movie or game rental. Ah what a great age.

when your a kid, and you make it up to "Castle", it was the scariest stage by far. floating on rock, completely isolated and alone, you have to traverse around this monstrous castle wall without a soul in sight. It made the dread of finding a doorway or opening that much more intense. when you did find your way in, you had to battle the shadows of all the beasts and monsters your slayed beforehand. It was a waking visceral nightmare, and the music was a big part of that uneasy despair your felt in the pit of your soul...

Great music! Jesus, back in the late 80s/early 90s my brother, myself and my friend must have played this game a thousand times. Most times all through the night. It was so crazy still playing while the sun was rising. To be a young teen again, ahhh.

I recently played through this game and beat it after all these years. Finally lol but this game is a prime example of how different video games were in 1987 compared to today. Games were very difficult back then and if you beat a game that means you worked for it! There was no auto healing and unlimited lives back then (unless you used a game genie of course) this game was tough though. Far beyond the skill level of a 6 year old kid

16:51 Truly, the height of gaming music excellence. Indeed, the very track that all others wish they could ascend to. A masterful wizardry of creativity that shows forth the true power of music. An amazing showcase of bleeding-edge technical prowess. The way you cut it short with only one single loop is truly a crime against us all.

0:34 Mountain best one!!! I was like 5 when my brother played this. I just barely remembered that it was an adventure game with a guy walking and i couldn't forgot that mountain stage music which stayed in my memory.Since all these years i sang that theme by myself without knowing the name of the game. So i checked all the nes adventure games and finally found it quickly :) Even if i would seen a screenshot of the game or even stage 2 i wouldn't recognize it. The only reason i found it was because of moutain theme . Thanks man!

I was so glad when they came out with a Rygar game for the PS2. I didn't hesitate to buy it the day it came out. One of the few games I actually took time off from work to play, like GTAIII, Vice CIty, and San Andreas. And it was an amazing experience, just like the old NES game.

Great soundtrack and one of the first really long soundtracks in the NES' early days -- the US & JP tracks with no loops still add up to nearly 16 minutes in length! By the way, this soundtrack was not actually done by the Tecmo sound team, but was by Advance Communication Company.

This is one of the greatest minimalist video game soundtracks ever. Almost all of the songs only use two out of the five available sound channels on the system. The music for this game could not have been written more perfectly. Even the famicom game music is great where's some of the tracks differ.
