That's why I call it a lifestyle amp. As an audiophile I'd love it to have a USB out, as an off-board DAC would definitely raise the sonic experience.

I'm wondering how the sound quality is Vs buying a the Wiim Pro Plus a separate affordable amp, say the SMSL DA-9, SMSL A300 or the Fosi audio za3. Something like that. Currently I have the Wiim Pro Plus and a DA-9 for my lounge and I love the sound. Now looking for a set up for my bedroom but reviewers like yourself don't seem to be really praising the sound of the Wiim amp. Which makes me think maybe another Wiim device (mini or pro) might be the way to go.

@@jimmy9pints Forgive the delayed reply. The type class D chips it uses has some significant limitations. You need to ask yourself how much serious listening do you plan to do in your bedroom. If it's casual, then find a pair of fairly efficient speakers and enjoy. If you desire serious audiophile sound, grab a quality amp, and buy the Wiim Pro.
