The BEST advice! Thanks for pointing out that ideally it is best for them to remain wild.

I had a Murder of wild Crows that I fed at the coast when I lived there. All I had to do was go outside and Call for them and they all would come from everywhere. They even ate with my cats that knew those were My Murder, so they Never tried to hurt them. It was the highlight of my Every Day!

How did you call them? Using crow sounds or did you just yell HEY CROWS and they heard your voice?

Touki's purring is adorable. I actually have a cat that CHIRPS, but only when he sees birds in the yard. Makes me wonder if animals try to communicate by speaking each others' languages.
@ellieisbusy10 ай бұрын
Chirping is thought to be a show of frustration for not being able to catch the prey (the birds) 😅

Isn't Touki's purring just adorable? 😊 It's fascinating how animals, like your chirping cat, find unique ways to communicate. It's like a universal language among our furry and feathered friends! 🐦🐾

Amazing!! Loki, Seven (amd the other swans) and Touki are so hilarious and beautiful and bless you all for rescuing and looking after them brilliantly 😻❤️❤️❤️! My father used to feed the crows and they recognised him and our dog every morning (my father sadly can't anymore though due to his age) and even had a wild pet crow who used to perch on his shoulder when he was a boy!

When I was a little kid, my sister had a parakeet and played with us more like a dog than a bird. He'd fly to us when we held out our finger for him to land on, he'd have a little snack with us, potato chips were his favorite, play with toys, etc. He would talk pretty well. He was just the greatest pet ever. I realize he wasn't a "wild bird," but we had 2 other parakeets that were just nightmares. There was something really special about that first one.

I truly appreciate the skills of those who make first contact with wild animals and then train them to behave in a predictable and reasonable manner. That is one of the greatest skills a human can possess in my opinion. That's the whole point of being human - to be able to make friends with and cooperate or coexist with other species, rather than what we do - exploiting them.

Spent better part of a year feeding some Crows till one finally came close and ceased being scared of me. Was a pretty amazing thing. Crows btw are very very smart. Never wanted to tame, own or even pet it just did not want them flying away from my presence. Was a really excited day when I sat and they did not flee and they would sit near me.
