I am a regular viewer of bushcraft / wild camping vids on youtube and have only just come across yours and i have to say that I've really enjoyed the couple of vids that I've watched so far and i will be subscribing . The spot underneath the tree where you have built your camp is probably the coolest I've seen . Cheers for the vids and the education .

Really enjoyed your vid bro and subbed. Just a thought about your fishing. It would perhaps help if you carried a few small spinners in your kit. That way, you don't have to worry about obtaining bait, and those brownies love to nail a spinner or fly. Thanks for the video. Look forward to wathcing the others.

Don't want to be difficult and I'm not accusing just asking. You said was a hard place to get to and a bit of a hike, my only question is then who's dogs are barking in the background when you get back to camp with water? I'm just asking because I like your video first time watching your channel and I don't want to put a lot of time into the channel if it's not true to nature and what we're being told. I hope you understand and just want to clarify, like I said I'm not accusing just asking. Thanks and did enjoy.

Hello Friend, I've really enjoyed your camping footage and air rifle shooting. Very interested in air rifles, just got one after wanting one all my life. I'm twin to another boy, so my parents understandably wouldn't allow both of us to have one when youngsters. I then lived in a terraced area, so space always a problem. I do camp, though no woods or forests near us big enough to have a set up like you do. The local yobo scum would just come over and destroy it. Love everything about your video's. Big thumbs up and good luck, Ian. Ps. I had a BSA Lightning XL SE and loved it, though after using it, was disappointed with it. Part of the draw for me was thinking it was British made, in Birmingham, with all their history, knowledge and expertise. When I found out the rifles weren't that well thought of, and made in Spain, I got rid. I hope you like yours, you shoot it very well. If BSA decide to make them in Birmingham again, where they manufacture their PCP's, I'll consider buying another. Best wishes.

I like the accuracy of your air rifle. Never seen any break barrel that accurate at about 30 meters. I've got a Gamo Swarm Maxxim, and I'm very disappointed about it. Crosman Premier hollow point is what I use with the rifle. I guess pellets are an important factor in the accuracy.

Great looking camp and beautiful woods. Nice work on the video, shooting through the scope was cool. Try for head shots, saves more meat. Cooking them slow in a cast iron fry pan is how I like to do them. Keep up the great work, makes for a life time of memories.

Cheers buddy, muchly appreciated. The scope cam captures the hunt really well. I didn't use it on the two camp - hunt videos after this, used the rifle cam type view. Footage was a bit crappy, so I'm back on the scope cam in my newest vid. Nice one. Do you hunt or trap the Squirrels?? Iv wanted a cast iron cook set for agers. When I finally buy one I'll be sure to try that out. Thanks bud Andy

By the way the Problem with your fish trap is your holes your spacing is too big the fish can get out of it you need to make a trap with smaller hose and your interest goes holes spaced out are way too large not talk about the circle former going I'm come out the spacing of the sticks

Yes, agreed. In my next camp video along I make a different design of fish trap. I weave it with ramble vines like you would a basket. I don't have any luck in the video, but I have done in the 18 months since. It's on my video to do list. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for your video.

+Dutch1722 That makes him even more awesome!! :) That's some beautiful land you've got to hunt in, vast. You should make a video of one of the trips if you ever get chance. I & I'm sure many others would love to see it. You going after Greys or Reds? Skinning them like I do in this video by pulling the hide off like a sock is alot easier than the usual cut up the belly & peel away, but if your not interested in keeping the hide? just make a little cut with your knife above its tail, lay it on its belly on the floor with your boot on its back legs, hold its tail tight & rip it up. Comes off in seconds. Cheers A

Here in Central Illinois we have both grey and fox squirrels. The grey squirrels are small and kindah on the nervous side. If they get wind of you they are more apt to take off and evade where as fox squirrels sit there. They think they are hidden or they evade and hide. I stalk them. I also use a rimfire as well as airguns for squirrel hunting. If you listen to how they prance and search for food there is a non rhythm to it. I walk this way 2-3 steps with pausing. I walk with the wind to my face and look everywhere forward with each step. I have walked up on grey foxes, deer, and squirrels too close to shoot with this method. Where as a human walks thru the woods with a left right left right fashion. Be mindful of where you step and if you break a twig pause for a while and let the woods forget your there. I may have to try to make up a video of this land scape. Its on a ridge with a road running on top. I go down and hunt either slope. I have once walked a 13 yard wide finger of land that was 800 Meters long to the road. I subscribed to your channel.
@ClanGunnBushcraft
@ClanGunnBushcraft 9 жыл бұрын
+Dutch1722 Yeah, that's it, you know your stuff brotha. Wild Greys are very skitty, but they grow pretty big over hear & the reds are nearly wiped out. We don't hunt them, I sometime help a local organisation to cull the Greys in certain areas to reintroduce our native reds. Unfortunately we don't have fox squirrels over hear. Nice colourings on them, would make a great pouch :) Me too, I'd much rather stalk than hide, but it's so much easier to get footage when you can get comfortable & set up. less opportunities tho + soooooo boring. Great video pal - just found your channel and subbed you. Got my own patches of woodland and been meaning to make vids for ages - you've inspired me - cheers! Two questions, what's your camera/scope mount? What's your billy kit? Keep up the great work ... Paul.

+Paul Sanderson Thanks Paul, muchly appreciated brotha. That's awesome! Subbed back and looking forward to your future videos. The scope mounts called a Seben DKA2, you can get them on ebay for about £20-40. Not sure of the name of my billy cans, had them about three years, not expensive & there from a site called... Ronniessunshines.co.uk . Great site for camping gear. Cheers bud Andy

that fish trap needs to be faced with the opening facing down stream and away from the bank ! fish feed upstream or facing towards the current! you can tie a piece of white styrofoam so it floats in the middle and it will atrack fish in! You would do yourself a favor to just go for head shots, like that they are dead or missed, no wounding! But you arent me si I dont judge just offer free advice, it has to be free no one pays for it for sure! LOL Thanks for the video I enjoyed it! I subbed you

Cheers man, great advice on the fish trap. Only my 3rd primitive style trap iv made, never caught oat on my first, but got 2 in my second. Set it in a fast flowing river that's actually closer to my camp than the Loch is. Back at it again in a few weeks at Loch Dee. I'll remember what you said. Normally always go for them head shots, like in my older vids. No proud of that second, but it happens. New rifle on its way, better accuracy at longer range. Thanks pal, subbed back. Andy

Thanks for the sub! I shoot a hatsan 125 sniper vortex in.22 and love it after I went through the rifle from trigger springs and screws , seals cross hatching the air tube rebuilt the vortex because it leaked down! Now i av 996 with crossmans holllo point 14.34 gr and can do head shots at 60 yds with my hawk 6x24x44 varmint shooting of shooting sticks is the bomb ! I wouldn't try shots without a prop to rest the rifle on and they work! good luck my friend!

How do u wild hunt legally
@ClanGunnBushcraft
@ClanGunnBushcraft 5 жыл бұрын
You can't hunt on public land in the UK. You have to either own the land or have hunting permission on it to do it legally. I spend a lot of time in Bulgaria where the law is very different. You can hunt on wild land over there, plus firearm and bow hunting laws are much more relaxed. Thanks for watching

I'm looking forward to watching it, you're really lucky with your location and being able to chill out and camp and shooting, I have had a number of air guns from a BSA meteor, Air arms S410 and TDR, Webley venom raider, S10 and currently a Daystate Air Ranger and a Brocock elite but they all have there pros and cons but I always think if it fits well to the shooter then your half way there. I shoot better with a PCP as with no recoil I think there more forgiving but I shot a friends HW97 and he had it tuned and was super smooth and being a spring never had to worry about re-charging, but on the other hand for quick follow up shots you can't beat a multi shot PCP and I can go out numerous times with my Air Ranger and not worry about filling it up thanks to its 400cc bottle. My advise get down your local air gun shop try shouldering a few rifles and see if you can try a few on a range and see which one suits you best!....if you would like I will lend you my Brocock elite and see how you get on with that?

That's some beautiful rifles mate. Had to Google most of them tho :) Very kind offer pal, but I can't borrow your rifle. I'd be to scared of damaging it. I think the HW97K's guna be my next new springer, flawless little rifle! But I do need a pcp first. Would need to be the cylinder type rather than the bottle, gota be self sufficient with it. Iv seen the manual pumps which would easier to carry out there. Cheers for the advice pal, well have to arrange a hunting trip in the future. Cheers A

Clan Gunn Bushcraft Its worth looking at an HW100 in .22 for a PCP. I have the full length version, and that gives at least 140 shots from one fill of air. Plenty enough for squirrels and rabbits. (How many can you carry and eat in a few days?) :-)
@ClanGunnBushcraft
@ClanGunnBushcraft 9 жыл бұрын
Rodney Neep Cheers pal, sweet rifle. Most pcp's I'm looking at give about 30-50 full power shots per fill. Less in cold weather. That's no good to me on long 5-6-7 day camp / hunts. Them squirrels pile up ;) I'll defo get a pcp soon, be great on the farm, but most of what I practice is self sufficiency, and you can't beat a springer for that. Got a new springer... BSA Lightning xl se. I'll break it in n I'll be back out on the bushy tails soon :) Thanks for the sub, muchly appreciated. Andy

If you get a HW97 don't get a synthetic stock , its hard to fit a sling, it's a heavy rifle.
