Commonly called the whip , fire 🔥 hardening the tip can help , which adds a dark 🌑🕶️ color to your spikes. it also can be used with hornet nests to activate hornets for area defense

Seems to me that the trigger board made the arrow point up as it was fired. Should it be thinner and have the trigger stick perched right on the vey end of the trigger board?

Glenn, excellent teaching film! How big do you think you could make this trap. Could you adjust iso that the net were 36 inches wide? Cheers Suzan

This is exactly what I was looking for. Also with a lot of extra tips, tricks, and knowledge thrown in. I love how you used rocks to sand it and no vice. I mean, I've watched the videos on how to make one in a workshop but this is what I really wanted. Question, what type of wood do you suggest for the bow? That is, hardwood or softwood? I live in New Zealand. We have a lot of pine and birch. Either of those?
@ClanGunnBushcraft2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Tim, glad you enjoyed my video. My crossbow video has a little more information and I use Hazel for the prod (bow) on that one... Check it out if you get chance. You want to use hardwood trees to get you're bow timber. Even though Yew is classed as a softwood and it's one of my favorite bow materials, its classed as a hard softwood and has an almost rubber inner cambian layer. Most other softwoods like the pines, spruces and conifers are just to weak and brittle to use for a bow. You can make bows from Birch, but I've never made a birch bow myself. Yew, Hickory, Oak, Ash, Hazel and Osage orange are all good trees to use, but like I said... most hardwoods will do. Thanks and good luck with the bow making. Andy
