Wild Camp at Higger Tor Under Leaning Block

Just 5 miles from Sheffield Higger Tor is a spectacular rocky plateau, with breathtaking views all round, extremely popular with walkers from all over the country, but such a amazing place to camp.
On the walk up we pass Carl Wark a ancient iron age hill fort which a manage to circle with my drone providing some spectacular footage of this ancient place.
My Rab Ridge Raider bivvy provided the perfect peice of kit for sleeping under the massive gritstone rock known as Leaning Block.

I love a curlew in the peaks...I'll never forget one flew alongside me for miles, hovering around as I was heading out to grinah stones, for about 9 miles that was the only soul I saw.. ..which is how I like it 🙂

Many thanks for sharing your bivi camp, it is such a lovely area. I visited this area a couple of September's ago, my mate did a couple of climbs there ( me on belay) into a quiet evening. Then wild camped along the way. it was really great to see your drone shots of the area a different prospect.
