+Girl Outdoors... Thanks Becky for taking us along... Nice time by the reservoir and some good eats too. Some guy was doing flips over by the Stonehenge. I never seen frog spawn out on a grassy area beyond the waters edge. We used to find it often as kids in ponds on our grandfathers farmland watch them morf from egg to tadpole to frog. Amazing thing to watch.

Hey Becky, it's great to see a youngster and family outside together. Gaining awareness of our outdoors environment is a good thing. Given the number of subscribers you have and times your films are viewed, additional awareness for all might prove useful... South West Lakes Trust only have a few lakes/reservoirs where camping is permitted - Burrator is not included but Roadford Lake is one such place close to Dartmoor. Some local lake-side woods/forests show awful signs of damage as a consequence of illicit camping, particularly from camp-fires. Did you know that wild-camping is officially permitted over much of Dartmoor which adjoins Burrator? However, as moorland vegetation is susceptible to fire and even peat underground can be ignited and burn over very large areas. camp-fires are prohibited on the moor too. In addition the best-known woods there are SSSI's or National Nature Reserves (or both) where even deadwood becomes an essential nutrient for living trees so it is best not to chop the place up or burn it - imagine the result if all your subscribers turned up and did so! ! You can get a perfectly effective gas or liquid-fuel stove for less than the cost of a decent axe or saw. You can find out about wild-camping on Dartmoor from the National Park Authority website - there is wild-camping and much other useful advice, plus an interactive camping map - a Google search will reveal all.

At the beginning you guys passed stone statue so that inspired me you guys are going to great wilderness or primitive nature. In contrary you guys have good night camp and enjoyed tranquil staying by lake, nice. I have seen a color of spring; vegetables you guys sliced and every color of spring in the pot and cook, hmmm I can tell the spring is about to come into UK. and I had seen it b4 that your dog is very energetic and I guess it bother the dog muzzled because he or she loves to chew consistently even branch of woodland. lol. thanks enjoyed watching nice picnic over night camp.

It took me a little while to watch your video. It wasn't the length, I was trying to watch it while working. I drive at my place of employment, so I had to wait until I was being transported to the next vehicle to drive. I was using the Wi-Fi, and its still a little spotty at work. I think this video is one of my many favorites. It makes me so happy to see family enjoying each other's company and an activity. Your parents looked like such a cool couple. Oh my goodness; the scenery, the lake, the Rocky hills and trees that were all around. The whole things was amazing. I'm so glad you share this part of your life with us. Does the lake have a different name? If so, what is its name? And was that a bit of snow dusting on the tents? That means it was pretty cold. I will be so glad when I am able start blogging like you and your dad. Take care to you all.

Lovely views there Becky! As you drive past stone henge...I went past there in the same direction when on the way to stay in Salisbury, after a week with my dad in Newbury... always remember looking up at that view. Out of interest...unbiased opinion...what do you make of that Silky? Better than other saws to use by a lot?
@GirlOutdoors6 жыл бұрын
Yeah its beautiful around that area, hope you had a nice stay in Salisbury. Well i haven't used loads of saws but the few i have tried including a bow saw, i would definitely say that the silky saw is the best saw i have used for cutting timber, its much easier and efficient for cutting. Would 100% buy another one. A lot of people may disagree with me but for the saws i have used in the past, silky is the best. Hope this helps. Take care Steve

Hard travelling there and back, but rhe mare needs to be looked after bless her. Might just invest in a silky, after watching you and your dad cutting with it, ease of storage in a pack...might have to be done 😉 Glad rhe snow here has pretty much melted except a few drifts in the sticks...be summer jacket weather before we know it. Take care and best wishes as always

I think if you have a good sleep system then all is well, sleep is really important. I know your daughter is still young but learning a simple skill like lighting a fire with cotton wool, Vaseline and a lighter would be amazing, i hope she sticks at it. I have really enjoyed doing bush craft and camping, it also has bought me closer with my dad which i am grateful for, just keep on going outdoors as long as she enjoys it. Hope this helps? Take care.
