Another great video Murray. Interesting to see what you carry. I can't believe how much weight I carry with the photo gear, my heaviest lens is 2.2kg. I always carry water (3 kilos) just in case. Last trip to Suilven was 55 lbs/25 kg. I've tried to reduce weight by I use everything I carry.

I'd really like to hike up Glencoe and do a wild camp. Can you give us an idea please how long it takes to walk up, what the trail is like, and where would you park your car to begin? I live fairly nearby so would love to do this, but not alone, not my first time.
@ScotlandsMountains6 жыл бұрын
Hi Neale, I'd recommend using the walkhighlands site to check for maps, times, trail etc. In addition to their walk description there are thousands of user reports that are a fantastic resource. They will have all this for most of the routes in Glencoe ((hundreds of different routes, walks, difficulties etc etc) Good luck and have a great adventure when you go Thanks for watching ATB Murray Wild camping gear and equipment for a summit camp on A Scottish Mountain

I've since ordered the scarp2 as me and the missis are off doing some wild camping ..Doing wainwrights coast to coast in the summer. awsome footage! just out of interest...does your down bag ever get damp and if so is there anything you can do to protect it? cheers. wel5hy

hello - thanks for watching and good luck in your upcoming adventure :) Always keep the sleeping bag in a dry bag when hiking so as weaher doesnt get it. Afraid I dont really do much multi day adventure so dont really have the experience to give you on keeping it warm . Maybe looking at someone like Chris Townsends blogs might give good advice - he is the king of long distance adventures :) Thanks for watching ATB Murray A Winter wild camp on the top of a Scottish Mountain

Hi Chris - I use a Deuter 65 plus 15 for most wild camping trips, not the lightest and I can use a 35 L Gregory pack with the kit strapped to the outside. I don't mind the weight so usuallu use the larger bag! Hope that's useful :)Thanks for watching ATBMurray Wild camping gear and equipment for a summit camp on  Scottish Mountain

Hi thanks so much for sharing your kit list, another beautifully shot video too. I am also looking forward to a similar one showing your drone and photography equipment. On this film, you mention your sleep mat which I am trying to find online. I think you say Xped 900 but I am struggling to find one with that number - could you confirm? I dont sleep well and that could make the difference!

Dont mean to pick on you, but did you know that a blind guy climbed Everest? .... just saying.
@ChristophersMum6 жыл бұрын
I presume that the blind man had a trained guide with him, so he could reach the summit safely? …………..The difference with asthma is if you have a severe attack (those can come on you without warning) is...……...IT CAN KILL YOU...…...just saying...….
@willybarton6 жыл бұрын
There are many things that can kill you in a mountain, and in our every day lives in fact. Should we all just stay at home then? There are two types of people in the world: people who make excuses not to do things; and people who do things. Everyone gets to choose which one they want to be. Satyarup Siddhanta- he climbed mount everest. He was an asthma sufferer.
@ChristophersMum6 жыл бұрын
And I have seen plenty more die.....I have been nursing my whole life and usually the person who have such limiting conditions are fully aware of their limitations. Where one may achieve these goals...…...many are just not able to climb the stairs in their own home. That said if...….and only if the individual person is able to make progress with their asthma can he be able to have a change of mindset.

@@ScotlandsMountains Your videos are a delight: Scottish mountains and a Scottish voice. If the Scottish voice is a challenge to some then just enjoy the video as if you were listening to a song in a language you do not know. The joy in life is to encounter the new not reject the new or expect the new to change to the familiar. Murray's videos are about challenge that's why people love them.
