Wild Camping in the Lake District, what's not to love.
The weather was crazy (as usual) seems to be a recurring theme lately on my wild camps, but we love it all the same!!
Starting in the western fells then heading to the southern fells, whilst bagging a new Wainwright for the first time.. ( and its 1 of the big boys ) This is the 2nd night of a multi-day backpacking trip and the first trip to feature my new tent the Hilleberg Soulo Black Label..

Well what can I say, that is one of the best videos on Wild Camping I have ever seen. Just got back from hospital after an operation on my left eye and my wife did not want me watching anything but when I saw the link on the facebook page I said no, I'm watching this and I'm so glad I did (one eye job though lol). @@GoodBlokeOutdoors When I close the shop for the day, believe me, you will be my first port of call. As for the eye, thankyou, yes last Wild Camp, a little wild wind, whip up grit on a dry bed and punctured my left eye and infected it. So it was all off to the surgeon and cutting out a cyst formed around the grit and removing built up fluid and grit from the eye. All good now, just gonna bleed for a couple of weeks and constant bathing of eye by wife (she is a Doctor so could not get better treatment at home lol). Lesson learned, eye glasses for protection in wind.

@GoodBlokeOutdoors My last wild camp, my Montane terra pants were saturated, and although freezing temperatures outside they didn't freeze inside the Soulo. But putting them on again in the morning wasn't pleasant... lol

Great video, good your getting use out of the soulo. Winter time everything comes in doors, if its wet in a drybag. I put my boots in a plastic carrier bag, nowt freezes. Carry on enjoying 👌

Its a great place mate, so much to explore, feel like your in the centre of a lot of great mountains, not too far from the scafells and then great / great gable etc. How you finding the Soulo mate?

Some great shots and your right sprinkling tarns does get rammed in summer so does sty head I camp on seathwaite fell on winter great little spot Allen crags is a good 1 as well.i was in the wind and rain on Saturday but didn't wake up to a stunning sunrise tho lol

Would something like those Silica gel packs be something useful? can use them overnight and slap em in your bag when you pack away to absorb moisture, I use the re-useable ones in my car cos its old :D but they work a treat! Just bang em in the microwave when the colour changes
