Well done Murray - what a treat to view in the deep midwinter! I well remember that pull up to CMD, the only downside to the finest (non-climbers') route up Ben Nevis. It seems to go on forever. I did it 25 years ago, on my way home from Skye, and notwithstanding the exhaustion I remember thinking it a breeze compared to what I'd been doing (scared silly) on the Cuillin ridge. The other memorable feature was the breakfast I'd had prior to setting out. The fine lady of the B & B in Fort William asked if I liked herrings. I said yes. She proceeded to deep fry the entire contents of a 1kg box of herrings in oatmeal which she set before me and watched in maternal fashion while I ate the lot. They were still repeating on me at the summit. All the best for 2019 Murray, and ditch those abominable trousers!

One of your best so far Murray and well worth the hard slog! I know you said it was annoying to have carried water and then found the stream was running but you definitely made the right decision. I had a similar experience going up onto the Moine Mhor in September except I didn't bother filling up in Glen Feshie thinking there'd be water higher up. I was almost at the point of heading back down when I found a trickle of water seeping of the peat- very lucky! Looking forward to Part 2 mate 😊

Thanks Ian - , I've had similar experiences and its amazing how bad it can get when you have no water!! Amazing video. I was enjoying the scenery ... it is similar to the mountains I used to visit for years here in my country thou different in many ways. I'd dare to say here it is wilder and you can still easily encounter large predators like wolves, ... brown bears even more. Not much visitors especially out of summer vacations perhaps because of long and harsh winters. Seems like warm Adriatic coast attracts the tourists here much more than the mountains would. For me they have always been the priority. Thanks for sharing your adventures and experience. Happy holidays and good luck in the future.
