Day 2 of fishing out of Seward, Alaska and we catch Silver Salmon (Coho) as well as pacific cod! We also get really close to Aialik Glacier, get some epic drone footage, and eat some of the glacier ice! Captain Garrett shows you how to fillet a salmon, then we bring all our fish back home! I make homemade teriyaki sauce and put it over pan seared salmon! It was delicious!

Hello, I've been to Ionic Glacier once, and it became one of my favorite places on earth. The power you feel, the life energy, and the magic of that spot is like nothing I've ever experienced. i got emotional when you were feeling that arctic wind pouring from the glacier. it is definitely a place of power.

Great video! We lived in northern Illinois and I was able to fish Lake Michigan for Coho salmon in the fall seasons. I think it's the same fish as is called silver salmon in Alaska. Fresh it was amazing... Best salmon I've ever eaten, but I can't stand typical restaurant prepared salmon. It's just as you explained. Your Alaska trip has been so fun to watch. What an adventure.

Oh ye of little faith! Brian, You have eaten Hardhead, Gafftop, Chub and even Clown Knife Fish. Heck, you ate Snakehead and baitfish that was cooked by Viktor. Why would you still doubt his skill with a great fish like salmon? I have to laugh with Brook on this one. You blew it. Love the videos and the recipes. Wonderful family and friends. You are so much fun to watch. Keep it up and I hope you never stop reaching for more.

Brook and Victor, just saw this video. We went salmon and halibut fishing back in 1991. Caught 750lbs of halibut in 2-1/2 hours, fileted out to 460lbs. We fished the Soldotna for salmon and caught a tremendous amount. We checked all the fish as baggage in 45 lb. boxes frozen before we left. I led a group of 10 and we each checked our fish as baggage, many of us had 78 quart Coleman coolers and we all either checked two 45 lb boxes or a 45 box and the 78 quart cooler as baggage. We brought duffel bags to bring clothing back as carry-on luggage so that we could check as much fish as possible as our baggage. We gave several hundred pounds of fish to the local food pantry. We all fed our neighbors and subdivisions for the rest of the summer in Atlanta. I did the trip research, rented two 26' class A RV's, booked the Homer charter, rented motor boats on the Saldotna, specified tackle , rigs, and many other details. We went to Denali and saw carribu and grizzlies just feet away. If there is one thing I would like to do again it would be Salmon and Halibut fishing in Alaska. Maybe someday, anything is possible! Your shows are wonderful, keep it up. Ciao

far out you saw everything that is epic. that glacier footage was realy sick as well. so cool how you got to see puffins. i found the alaskan way on salmon fishing interesting especially with bait. i did not expect it to b so simple like that. usually salmons r only allowed to b caught with lures in most countries well at least from what i've heard. that glacier ice would have gone well with a good cocktail haha how did it feel to land a cod? haha such an iconic fish especially for fish and chips. hats down to the skipper on 'freeing' that salmon with the flasher stuck on it.

Looks like the flasher we lost fishing out of Seward in Aug. 12th! Line broke trying to net it. Here is my favorite salmon recipe: Very low heat melt 1/2 stick of butter and 1/2 bulb of garlic in a saucepan. soak a cedar plank in water for an hour. Zest a lemon and slice two. Skinless filet on a bed of lemon slices on the plank. Salt the top side and allow to dissolve. Bake at 350 for +/- 20 minutes, plate just the salmon, spoon on garlic butter and lightly dust with the lemon zest.

I'm so happy for you that you had the opportunity to eat a freshly caught salmon. It's unfortunate that you don't have the chance to eat wild pacific salmon where you live. I can understand your fathers reluctance to eat salmon as in Florida you only have access to either atlantic salmon (which is at the very bottom of my salmon preference) or farm raised salmon from the grocery store. Your not likely to take a trip to a fish market on the west coast just to purchase a wild king salmon which will cost between $30 to $50 a pound based on the season. However, now you know how incredible freshly caught wild salmon is I hope you'll be making a few more trips out west. Okay thanks for all the great content!! I'm heading out to a local washington river this afternoon to catch some salmon.
