The whole "They don't have tags in Texas." is a play designed to prey on a weakness in the system, that local cops don't know the specific rules and statutes two states away. It has most likely worked once or twice for this guy, since he has been driving this truck for ten years without registration. His whole "explanation" has a somewhat rehearsed air to it, that breaks down the more agitated he becomes.
@Timmichanga3612 жыл бұрын
@@OscarSommerbo yeah, if the truck wasnt registered, than it wasn't registered. The idea that it was farm truck makes most the sense since it wouldnt need to be registered. The guy was just wrong. But the 14th Amendment, States Rights provides some protection in cases such these. If Fla has some sort of restriction on window tint and the level of tint is different in Tx...the driver should receive a pass as long as everything else checks out. Fla apparently requires stickers on the plates for officers to see, Tx does not. So had everything else checked out for this guy, the officers would have had no reason to ticket him.
@OscarSommerbo2 жыл бұрын
@@Timmichanga361 Except for the broken headlight and broken tail light, the broken tag/plate light might not be applicable, but there is still enough to ticket him. And his behaviour was probably a deciding factor in not letting him off with a warning. Very well have been a farm truck, when driving on public roads he is responsible for the condition of his truck. And he starts off with performative rage, but once he is ordered out of the truck he knows the tow truck is coming he loses is cool, and goes completely off the rails. I still have this feeling that he has been driving this truck on public roads on and off over the years, and he gets mad that he got caught, by a female cop no less. Yes, I think this encounter would have gone very differently if he was stopped by a man.

"If the truck belongs to his friend, surely the fees are the responsibility of this guy's mate." I'm from the UK, so obviously the rules are different: I drive a company vehicle. I got pulled-over in a random traffic stop. The police found that the MOT had expired. I was fined for driving a vehicle with no MOT / insurance. The company reimbursed me the costs after I went ballistic at them, but that didn't affect the points I got on my drivers licence. Over here, it is the responsibility of the driver to ensure that the vehicle they are in is legal, and I (foolishly) assumed that the company had completed the legal requirements.

Attitudy - that's a new word that I have to remember "Call the manager" - Asking a cop for manager? That's another new one for me How did this guy not get arrested much sooner than he did. I've seen police arrest people for far less with regards to disturbing the peace And with TX plates... I think they're a strange beast in that they don't have stickers on the plates as I recall, but they have inspection stickers or something on the front windshield (TX people can correct me on this)
@nascardave012 жыл бұрын
The registration sticker is on the front windshield. We use to have that and the inspection sticker both on the windshield, but it’s changed to just the registration because the inspecting station does report it to the state.
@drill420611 ай бұрын
😂Texans have 2 plates front and back and registration sticker on the windshield. Louisiana requires 1 plate with a registration sticker on the plate and an inspection sticker every year on the windshield. If it fails inspection you have 30 days with a bright orange sticker on it and it can be seen from miles away. I was shocked when I moved to Kentucky that they do require inspection stickers at all.

I understand Sanford & Son towing was called but they noped out of there when they pulled up and saw that thing. Lamont's pickup is an Escalade compared to that bondo-mobile. Edit: In all seriousness she should have arrested him for disturbing the peace and resisting when he wouldn't move out of the way for the wrecker. At 16:50 when he said he was being harassed by women, the supervisor should have had their backs and straightened him out, they are OFFICERS, not "these women". What he doesn't realize is, the tow company is charging him for the wait time waiting to hook that turd of a truck. Edit Edit: They LET HIM call 911 and they stand there watching it happen? They all need to be reprimanded. This could be a distraction purposely tying up police resources. Policing 101 people. This angers me.

Oh crap, I just realized something... in Ontario, Canada they did away with the stickers this year. So nobody in Ontario has a registration sticker, just the plate and the paper. Oh and the renewal is literally just a receipt with a hand written expiry date in 2024, not even an UPDATED expiry date on the registration card. 🙄 The Snowbirds are going to provide A LOT of content in the coming year.

Sounds like Canada went entirely digital. If there are no tags on the vehicle then LE won't be pulling over cars just for expired tags. Good idea.

@@hopefletcher7420 that is an upside. down side is there is no longer the $1 billion a year in revenue for the province, and they havent mentioned if the drivers license renewal fee will increase to compensate for tat loss.... always be ready for that bs.

If he had been person of color this would NEVER had taken so long. They gave this guy a break for 40 min and never approached him. He should have been forcibly detained because he did not comply. Oh North Port I used to live down near there. Small town. The cops love to sit right on this particular stretch of road and pull people over. (I got a speeding ticket one time with my mother-in-law sitting in the back seat... Never did hear the end of that one) so my point is ANYONE that lives in the area knows this is a hot spot, and if you don't want to encounter a police officer better behave yourself or go the long way around.

The REAL reason he was "attitudey" with the officer: The manager (sorry, I mean the Sergeant): "What's going on here, Sir?" The "Help! Help! I'm being repressed!" guy: "We've got a WOMAN who pulled me over..." (emphasis mine)
