Fascinating. He's driving a vehicle at night with broken lights. A vehicle that hasn't been registered in at least 10 years. Probably has no insurance. All that and this jerk essentially blames the cops for "ruining" his night!? What a clown.

He seems to think that the place he wants to push it to wants it on their property. He isn't from there, he's made that clear, so where exactly is he going to push it to? I subscribe to a tow truck channel from Tennessee, and he bleeps out his fees, but from the owners reactions, I can state this is in line with the fees tow trucks charge.

I don't get why this guy is so upset. 1.) It's not his truck, it's his friend's truck. (He can't even keep that story straight as he later on admits it's his). 2.) It's not been payed for insurance/registration for 10 years, so the owner of the truck had 10 years to save up money to pay the registration and impound cost now. 3.) Then there offcourse are the extra charges he could be facing, like obstruction, misuse of 911, resisting arrest.

@@remliqa In that case I wonder if the car is just taken without consent (because if it's a ranch car like Mike said it was I get why it wasn't registered, as it normally wouldn't leave the property) and now he has to inform his friend "Well I took it and it's impounded now" then the friend has every right the sue this guy and then it would cost alot of money for this guy.

The tow fees and impound are more than that truck is worth and he knows it. Would also have to get it registered and get insurance as well. In Texas, part of the registration is also getting the vehicle inspected first, which requires proof in insurance as well. Bottom line that truck is GONE. Soon to be scrap.

Demeanor plays such an important role in getting better treatment. I remember giving my son a ride to the impound lot south of Chicago (his car had been stolen and then found with a flat tire.) I had called and gotten good directions (this was way before GPS.) They were a really surly bunch in the office -- until I asked who had answered the phone and I complimented them on being so nice and giving such good directions. The entire atmosphere in the station changed 180 degrees. They were sooo helpful after that little comment.

In the same vein, if you run into someone who is just grumpy no matter what you do, nothing irks that kind of person more than if you're nothing but nice to them. If you lash back, suddenly they'll feel justified in their mistreatment of you. Make them look like the angry idiot; they hate that! Edit: wrote that while at the beginning of the video. Both cops were actually pretty great at showing how niceness pisses off angry people lol

I’ve pulled vehicles over from TX in FL and yes, they have to have tags/registration. His argument is invalid because he admits the vehicle was in fact, registered at one time. See this all the time in FL. People lose their license in FL for a lot of reasons. (Fail to pay traffic fines, refusal to submit to blood, breath or urine for DUI, non-judgement, etc) This guy probably is driving while license suspended or revoked in FL and thought he could get away with driving a different tag in FL. However, if your driving privileges are suspended in FL, you can’t go to another State and obtain a DL and drive in FL.

The whole "They don't have tags in Texas." is a play designed to prey on a weakness in the system, that local cops don't know the specific rules and statutes two states away. It has most likely worked once or twice for this guy, since he has been driving this truck for ten years without registration. His whole "explanation" has a somewhat rehearsed air to it, that breaks down the more agitated he becomes.
@Timmichanga361
@Timmichanga361 2 жыл бұрын
@@OscarSommerbo yeah, if the truck wasnt registered, than it wasn't registered. The idea that it was farm truck makes most the sense since it wouldnt need to be registered. The guy was just wrong. But the 14th Amendment, States Rights provides some protection in cases such these. If Fla has some sort of restriction on window tint and the level of tint is different in Tx...the driver should receive a pass as long as everything else checks out. Fla apparently requires stickers on the plates for officers to see, Tx does not. So had everything else checked out for this guy, the officers would have had no reason to ticket him.
@OscarSommerbo
@OscarSommerbo 2 жыл бұрын
@@Timmichanga361 Except for the broken headlight and broken tail light, the broken tag/plate light might not be applicable, but there is still enough to ticket him. And his behaviour was probably a deciding factor in not letting him off with a warning. Very well have been a farm truck, when driving on public roads he is responsible for the condition of his truck. And he starts off with performative rage, but once he is ordered out of the truck he knows the tow truck is coming he loses is cool, and goes completely off the rails. I still have this feeling that he has been driving this truck on public roads on and off over the years, and he gets mad that he got caught, by a female cop no less. Yes, I think this encounter would have gone very differently if he was stopped by a man.

This was great. I've encountered some angry motorists when I towed their car, but this guy walked the line of arrest for a longer time. Here our oh-so-smart legislature has never put that requirement on the books to release a car from impound so the owners will just drive off without insurance, again.

I have never really understood why people assume that government employee's HAVE to be nice to them, especially 1st amendment auditors. They don't. They are expected to be professional, but they are in no way required to be nice. In fact, in most jobs they are not required to take the kind of abuse and hate that 1st amendment auditors dish out, one of the reasons the manager is allowed to have them trespassed.

"If the truck belongs to his friend, surely the fees are the responsibility of this guy's mate." I'm from the UK, so obviously the rules are different: I drive a company vehicle. I got pulled-over in a random traffic stop. The police found that the MOT had expired. I was fined for driving a vehicle with no MOT / insurance. The company reimbursed me the costs after I went ballistic at them, but that didn't affect the points I got on my drivers licence. Over here, it is the responsibility of the driver to ensure that the vehicle they are in is legal, and I (foolishly) assumed that the company had completed the legal requirements.

@@pencilpauli9442 usually the towing and impound fees are down to whoever picks the vehicle up, but most impound lots will only release a vehicle to it's registered owner for liability reasons. That's going to be an interesting challenge for them

Attitudy - that's a new word that I have to remember "Call the manager" - Asking a cop for manager? That's another new one for me How did this guy not get arrested much sooner than he did. I've seen police arrest people for far less with regards to disturbing the peace And with TX plates... I think they're a strange beast in that they don't have stickers on the plates as I recall, but they have inspection stickers or something on the front windshield (TX people can correct me on this)
@nascardave01
@nascardave01 2 жыл бұрын
The registration sticker is on the front windshield. We use to have that and the inspection sticker both on the windshield, but it’s changed to just the registration because the inspecting station does report it to the state.

😂Texans have 2 plates front and back and registration sticker on the windshield. Louisiana requires 1 plate with a registration sticker on the plate and an inspection sticker every year on the windshield. If it fails inspection you have 30 days with a bright orange sticker on it and it can be seen from miles away. I was shocked when I moved to Kentucky that they do require inspection stickers at all.

I understand Sanford & Son towing was called but they noped out of there when they pulled up and saw that thing. Lamont's pickup is an Escalade compared to that bondo-mobile. Edit: In all seriousness she should have arrested him for disturbing the peace and resisting when he wouldn't move out of the way for the wrecker. At 16:50 when he said he was being harassed by women, the supervisor should have had their backs and straightened him out, they are OFFICERS, not "these women". What he doesn't realize is, the tow company is charging him for the wait time waiting to hook that turd of a truck. Edit Edit: They LET HIM call 911 and they stand there watching it happen? They all need to be reprimanded. This could be a distraction purposely tying up police resources. Policing 101 people. This angers me.

Oh crap, I just realized something... in Ontario, Canada they did away with the stickers this year. So nobody in Ontario has a registration sticker, just the plate and the paper. Oh and the renewal is literally just a receipt with a hand written expiry date in 2024, not even an UPDATED expiry date on the registration card. 🙄 The Snowbirds are going to provide A LOT of content in the coming year.
