Fun Fact: They purposely keep Volleyball's eye hidden so we DONT know if it healed or not: just cause Pearl and Volleyball understand Rose better doesnt mean her trauma magically goes away. Maybe it healed and everything is ok, or maybe its still there and she needs time to work through it. Its a very realistic take on past trauma and I appreciate the small details ^^

another interesting point is the fact that Spinel changed her form permanently because of her abandonment trauma and even forgiving Pink Diamond/Steven she didn't return to her original form. I believe it's no accident, it seems like a clear message that trauma changes people forever, even if they get over it. Our job as humans is not to be the reason for someone's trauma.

I just remembered that chapter when Amatist said "Who would want to watch a cartoon with people crying?" when referring to that cartoon that Steven used to watch called "crying breakfast friends", now I can confidently say that the answer to that question is "I do, and probably all we do"

Honestly, shows that aren't afraid to show their characters' weaknesses and have them cry are likely to be much more engaging and relatable than ones that avoid that sort of conflict. But realistically, having the characters be too open witb their emotions can make the viewer feel alienated, like cartoons for babies. So crying breakfast friends probably doesn't take proper advantage of the full range of human emotions in the way that Steven universe and other character/emotion driven shows do.

I was Peridot in that last episode. That line "where will I find another steven as good as you" utterly destroyed me. Steven told us that he needed a hug in the cactus episode. A lot of people think it’s lame that “everything was fixed by a hug” (it wasn’t, he just needed physical reassurance and affection to calm down and feel supported so he could get the help he needs) but when he realized cactus Steven was mimicking him he threw down his weapon, apologized, and asked “who wants a hug?” which is foreshadowing to this episode.

I really don't know how to feel right now... gonna probably be sad for few days though. I really enjoyed this show and I'm gonna miss it. I did 4 months of content on "Steven Universe" here on the channel and its been such an amazing journey from seasons 1-5, the movie and the epilogue series. I Cannot express and thank you all who been here watching me and the series as whole. Ik some people didn't like that there wasn't any epic fight scene and that everything was resolved with a hug but I think those people don't really understand why steven turned into that monster in the first place. He physically projected all his pent of anger, sadness, trauma and self hatred into the monster. Responding to that with violence wasn't gonna fix anything. The only thing he needed at that moment was all his loved ones reassuring him that they still loved him and that they were gonna stay no matter what.

In “Everything’s Fine” climax, i was like this towards the CGs and Greg: “Oh, so NOW you do intervene about it. I’m sO MOVED! BUT YOU ARE TOO LATE!” Didn’t I promise you that they will pay a very steep price? Call me sadist, but I savored every single moment where everyone, sans Connie, were forced to own up the fact that, directly or not, they willy-nilly did hurt him. It’s the golden rule: “Everything affects everything “. I know the final boss battle might be anticlimactic, but let’s pretend you put it into a realistic prospective. If your loved ones has a meltdown for some reason, do you really think that it would be solved by punching them in the face or giving him threats, and guilt tripping? If that’s so, I wish you good luck with it. And no. An hug didn’t fix anything. It just temporarily stopped a situation from getting worse. Even the finale, Steven confirms that a few months happened since his “swelling” problem, and now thanks to his now functioning support system (and about time, therapy) he’s in a much better place. I’m still flabbergasted by the people who hated the finale and the epilogue as a whole. Apparently, they didn’t have experienced sadness and hurt.

Bro... I could write an extremely long text explaining how good and important this show was for me, how I want to continue seeing more adventures of Steven and the gems, see how they all grew... But I think words are unnecessary. I've just felt so identified with Steven in my adolescence never had the support or affection of my relatives because I didn't show my problems. I feel that a hug would have made my worst moments, a medicine for all that they are suffering. This show is simply a work of art, and seeing the ending is impossible not to get a lump in my throat.

I LOVED this episode. As a fan expecting some sort of cathartic closure, and seeing Steven be denied that cathartic closure, and thus as an audience being denied it as well... the end hits so much harder after that delay. On my first watching, Rebecca had me wrapped around her little finger... I was tense and breathless and borderline ANGRY, and the moment Amethyst's face cracked and everyone started crying, I tell you, the dam burst for me as well. A pleasantly cleansing weeping followed. Masterful work.

no matter how some people shout that "it's not realistic" "it's stretched" "unnecessary sequel" "the ending is stupid" 😒 especially in my opinion it's unnecessary reasons for which I don't care. I am a person who is going through the teenage period myself and who also has a lot of experiences and painful moments in life behind him and who, without looking back, goes forward and rejoices in life, I can understand his every emotion and every fear. It ended really well and "stupid hugs" were really needed, I'm very glad that there were no "fights", etc., because I myself need support in difficult moments. I sort of think of the ending as if Steven uncorrupted himself with his own tears. They take several seconds to demonstrate to us that Steven is crying and the crying is his diamond essence which is used in combination with white blues and yellows to uncorrupt gems. Once they had yellow, blue and white, they just needed to make Steven cry and you have all the ingredients to uncorrupt

He corrupted himself, because of all the pressure he passed and forced himself through. There was a time when I had in my head what to do or be in my life but when everything lost its meaning I became a monster to myself, I had to relearn that I could count on people when everything went wrong, that I could cry. It's been awesome seeing you react to this! Haven't commented much because I mainly watch on my phone, but wanted to leave one for the final video. If I can, I wanted to give a suggestion for a series you could react to in the future, one that almost nobody else on KZbin has done yet: Onyx Equinox. It's an adult-action-thriller animated series set in Prehispanic ancient Latin America, where the Aztec gods are having a bet over offerings if humans can save the world or not. As somebody who actually does writups and works with history and archeology channels on Mesoamerica, it's EASILY the best researched I've ever seen those cultures handled in a big media production, (and i'd totally give breakdowns in the comments!) and it's got some great visual design and music too.
