For the classes, you have the base class and after promotion you could choose between a specialize (spe) which further your skills or composite (comp) which fuse 2 base classes. For example base tactician is a 2h specialist. spe tactician got more 2h skills and passive while comp tactician is a fusion between base tactician and base bulkward. And no you can't learn skills from one class and keep them after job changing. Useful tip: you can switch your skills point everywhere.

Have you ever played the old Dos game, Dungeon master II: Legend of skullkeep? NGL I'd love to see you give that one a try. It's a bit old and tricky to get up and running nowadays though.

The fight, post fight, and menu music gives me strong Monster Train vibes and i love it! The flavor of this game is so unique amd interesting, it feels like it is an adaptation of a popular anime or something. Will definitely check it out if it goes on sale for a reasonable price 😅

Oh I loved this game, made me go buy everything else Exp Inc made. Originally I just loved the art style, but the fact that they can pull off horror in a turn based dungeon crawler impressed me. And the named characters are characters from other Exp Inc games. For instance a lot of them were from Death Mark, a 3 game series where two of them are called death mark, and the third game has an entirely different title. It's a horror ghostbusters dungeon crawler series. And in all experience inc games, you need 25 SPD to dual wield. You do 5% less damage for every point under 25. Good dungeon crawlers: Etrian odyssey if you have a 3ds Most of Experience Inc's games. I rather liked Demon Gaze 1 and 2. They pioneered the "monster flower" they have in this game. There's points on the map you can throw items into that spawn monsters. when you beat them the loot changes depending on what you threw in. DG1 is very serious, DG2 is pastel anime bullshit, but they're good gameplay wise. The Mary Skelter series is actually really fun. It looks like an ecchi game, but it isn't, everyone's just a cute girl.

for dungeon games there were some on DS there was My World, My Way and another actual dungeon builder game that I believe was by the same group, idk of any games where you alter the dungeon in play like this one though

Labrynth of Refrain lets you break through walls and IIRC it's actually a bit less restrictive in where you can do it, but I wouldn't actually recommend the game, for several reasons. I don't think Etrian Odyssey lets you actually break walls, but it does let you find secret passages, which are functionally very similar.
